I know atleast two bitcoin debit card providers that are not affiliated with wave crest holdings.
1. Bitpay card https://bitpay.com/card/
2. Shift card https://www.shiftpayments.com/card

Don't know why you actually searching for bitcoin debit cards not issued by wave crest holdings.

Is there a reason why you are not interested in Mychoice cards? I am curious as the majority of the cards are issued by them.

I searched for the same but never found something that is not from Wave Crest. And Bitpay cards are issued from Metropolitan Commercial Bank, Shift card i don't know, but both are for US citizen only. I think most of the cards, if not all, are from Mychoice, but it looks like for a US company it comes from others

I checked one by one all sites that i know of and all are using Wave Crest. There is Spectrocoin thay maybe is not using Wave Crest but it is a big maybe.. Usualy you can find on each website in the footer of the card page (website.com/card-details) a message saying the cards are issued by Wave Crest bla bla bla. And Spectrocoin is the only one i saw not displaying this message, that's why i think they may not use WC but personnaly I doubt. Otherwise some other i have not look are Neteller/Skrill, since they have bitcoin option and each have a card, maybe there is a possibility with them, if they allow loading their card with bitcoin

The Bitcoin ecosystem is tiny. You should be happy that there is at least one company willing to jump through the regulatory hoops to service a tiny niche market.

Wavecrest holding is the only one bitcoin debit card provider which can deliver cards to almost all over the world. And i am using few cards issued by them both plastic and virtual but never got any problem. So if you want to use their cards than you can try them, i am quite sure they will work almost everywhere.

Good to know about it
just a question: the Golden card is available only in US dollar? Will it be with GBP and EUR after your Beta period? If yes, do you know when the Beta period is supposed to end about? And finally, as it is not mentionned on the website, who is your partner for this card ?
Sorry for all the questions ;D

tbh I also think that takes too long too.
But it's still in beta, we'll figure out how to work with our card issuer efficiently and speed things up.

Right now it's only available in USD. Golden Card in other currencies is definitely on the product roadmap.
For those who want to buy a debit card in EUR or GBP, I'll recommend them to buy our Universe Card at the current time.

For the last question, due to our contractor with our card issuer, I can't disclose them :)

We just have some price off, feel free to try it urself: https://wagecan.com/s/7NNcu6J6

Hello Wagecan,

just wanted to let you know that I'm getting this error while accessing your site on Firefox:

An error occurred during a connection to wagecan.com. Invalid OCSP signing certificate in OCSP response. Error code: SEC_ERROR_OCSP_INVALID_SIGNING_CERT

Just give some updates for those who love using Bitcoin debit card -
If you guys use Bitcoin debit card provided by Wave Crest, then you'll receive an email from your Bitcoin debit card company in the following days saying that they no longer can issue and maintain the cards outside of European territory.
The reason is that the holding company of Wave Crest Ltd. is acquired and they don't want to provide service except for users in this country list https://mychoicecorporate.com/visa-card-issuance-list/ (https://mychoicecorporate.com/visa-card-issuance-list/)

If you still want to use Bitcoin debit card, feel free to try WageCan's Golden card. They've been around since 2014.
You could use my referral code https://wagecan.com/s/7NNcu6J6 (https://wagecan.com/s/7NNcu6J6) to get 20% off.

I admit your other post/thread about Wave Crest being acquired by Visa International scared me a bit. So yes, I am going to try your card. I just opened an account and will verify it after ordering the card. I hope this is a credible and trustworthy card. I had a not so nice experience with your company last year when you had operational issues with your card provider Transforex.

I do want some clarification though about this Golden card. It says ATM yearly limit is $25,000. What happens after one reaches that transaction amount after, say, 4 months? I'm assuming the card will become inactive and dormant after one reaches the annual limit and these fees will apply:

Inactivity Fee
2 USD per month
If there is no transaction within 6 consecutive months, a deduction will be conducted from the 7th month. If your balance is zero for more than 6 month, it will be cancelled automatically.

Or is it possible to order more than 1 card?

If you max out the ATM yearly limit, that means you can't withdraw any more money from ATM, but other functions are just fine.

And yes, if there is no transaction within 6 consecutive months, an inactivity fee of 2 USD will be conducted from the 7th month.
But just as a reminder, this card is valid for three years.

"Or is it possible to order more than 1 card?"
> I don't think so, each person can only have 1 card.

If you have any other question please let me know.

Considering their corporate office is located in Gibraltar, they are probably under investigation by some US government agency with the full cooperation of the British government. LOL

From the Gibraltar government: “

The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) has noticed the increasing use of tokens or coins based on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) as a means of raising finance, especially by early-stage start-ups. The sale of such tokens is often conducted using terms such as initial coin offering (ICO), token sale, initial token offering and the like.

A new regulatory framework for DLT which will become operational as from January 2018 will regulate the activities of firms, operating in or from Gibraltar, that use DLT to store or transmit value belonging to others, such as virtual currency exchanges.”

Yeah lol and now when some of them got closed down, although I hear the problem was with them issuing cards for foreign citizens which at least for now has nothing to do with them chasing and closing down bitcoin operators. But when there's some news about this many people just want to talk and they create  FUD, it simply the power of headlines to make people read your article/blog watch youtube video etc.

My experiences getting a new card..

XMLGOLD
After sending them BTC and paying for the card, going through a tedious KYC procedure, finally being approved, when asking for the delivery status they sent me this:

Dear Customer

We draw your attention to the suspension of the issue and maintenance of Prepaid Mastercard.
This decision was made by the issuer of Wave Crest Holdings Limited unilaterally and became an unpleasant surprise for all of us.

Closure of cards will occur in several stages:
1. Starting from 01/24/2018, applications for the issue and refilling of cards are no longer accepted.
2. Withdrawal of funds from cards is available until 23.03.18.
3. In the event of withdrawal of funds in ATM, new limits will apply: USD 1,000 / EUR for the SEPA region, USD 500 / EUR for the rest of the countries.

In the near future, we will have new cards, and all customers will be replaced for free with new cards.

We can either send You refund for the card You bought, or You can wait for a new card that will be free for You. New cards are expected to be ready during next month.

Wagecan
Also have to pay upfront, after 2 weeks still trying to get through the KYC procedure.. Documents get rejected for various reasons (not in color, not in english, no QR code on it..etc..)

ADVcash
Also were using wavecrest.. They still accept BTC transfer, but when you want to load your card: Transfers to Advanced Cash USD cards are temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

TenX is promising new cards, so is XMLGold.. I have my doubts...  Maybe Bankera will succeed now that they own a bank..

I think I found a solution: https://revolut.com/r/ivorboma  (reflink)

KYC went pretty smooth. Delivered in 1 day (from UK to NL)

Card looks smooth.. Only your name on the front, number and other info on the back.. Chipped and NFC.

You can't send Bitcoins to Revolut and withdraw cash from ATM.
And you can't send cash and withdraw to Bitcoins.

-- Yes, I think what most people do is sell their BTC on gdax, then SEPA transfer euros to the Revolut, then either spend or withdraw to their normal bank account.  It's supposed to provide the interbank exchange rate for EUR to GBP for example.

Are there any debit cards that allow you to send your own BTC and load it to the card, then spend in stores, or withdraw cash at ATMs?  I think Spectrocoin (Bankera) may do this - How do their fees compare to other cards?  - https://spectrocoin.com/en/bitcoin-debit-card.html

I think an ideal card shouldn't charge for ATM withdrawals or POS transactions, and ideally there should be no limits on withdrawals or transactions.

If I understood well your question Mistertango is the card you are looking for. You can load it with Bitcoins from your own wallet, exchanger or something, it's exchanged to fiat currency immediately and then you can spend it in stores and on ATM. But still there is limit for monthly ATM withdrawal.

I have read reports that revolut blocks payments coming from crypto currency exchanges, namely kraken.

you cannot top up with BTC; and of course you discover this at the end, they keep the topic very confused on website I think on purpose.

I know atleast two bitcoin debit card providers that are not affiliated with wave crest holdings.
1. Bitpay card https://bitpay.com/card/
2. Shift card https://www.shiftpayments.com/card

Don't know why you actually searching for bitcoin debit cards not issued by wave crest holdings.

Well maybe because Wave Crest Holdings is not reliable since they closed all their cards?

P.S. BitPay is also provided by Wave Crest Holdings.

Bitpay's American cards still work fine.

I'm looking for a GBP one. I'm not confident there'll ever be another one. This is a major pisser as it's so convenient for a hellhole like the UK with very limited choices.

If only Circle could be bothered to keep going.

I'd love to know what Wavecrest were doing wrong. They've thrown away a lot of business and it strikes me as very stupid to provoke Visa into giving them the boot.

Probably it was a silly reason used by visa and mastercard to shutdown crypto cards.
