I am most pleased to present http://bteex.com/ the worlds first bytecoin exchange

This was a collaboration between myself and from ditto here on the forums. Really I'm just the capital, ditto did all the programing.

I would recommend starting out with very small trades early on since it is still in the very early stages of development and slowly work your way to larger trades as you begin to feel comfortable. There is a 0.5% commission on each side of a trade.

To be honnest, the "rate" collumn doesn't make any sense :p Why don't you guys use the normal ratio compared to BTC like every other exchange does? People are just going to get confused.

If you go to a shop to buy bread, the pricecards say : €2 per bread, not "you can buy 500 breads with €1000. "

when i post a sell order of 1BTE for 0,0015BTC per BTE the rate becomes:
"0.001499999999992500000000038"  
How does that happen? :D

edit: looks like some other rates got this problem too.
Could this have something to do with the way you programmed the switcharound of the rate?

See, I told you guys that Satoshis are infinitely divisible!

(I'm sure it's easily fixed.  But when coding with Bitcoin, it's so tempting to take the thing out to bazillions of decimal places, or use an arbitrary precision decimal class like Java's BigDecimal.....)

Yeah those are precision errors, usually happens when the coins are stored as FPs.

Your ignore button is dark brown, i don't know how you did that, but i don't think anyone in his right mind would want to trade with you without some sort of escrow.

i have no idea what my bte is worth, maybe nothing. That's why i payed for the servers for ditto to build this exchange, so i could find out what its worth, only a market will tell us that.

Thanks for getting this set up. I was worried that Bytecoins would disappear completely because of Feathercoin!

Pushed a temp fix for the precision errors, problem is mostly fixed and I will do the rest as soon as I get home. Until then, calculations might be a few satoshis off.

so: Sell orders are up, now we need some buy orders to prove that the site works and is reliable/safe.

yes pls pls even a trifle amount to see that it works. I will if no one else steps up but i really dont want to log onto my computer that has bitoins on it right now.

Walter Rothbard informed me of a bug in the trading system and I had to do a rollback and cancel all open orders.

It is up and running. The problem is I did a DB rollback yesterday and no one has put in any orders yet.

did you make a successful trade? withdrawing the funds and everything?

Do you have an API for retrieving current bid/ask prices?  That is all I need to re-add Bytecoin to Coinchoose.

i tried a sale.

Some minor tweeks that need attention.
-When i place an order, the text in the green bar that shows up still uses the old rating system -> confusing!
-When my sale was done, i received 0.00009950000000000001 BTC. Please round that to 0,0000995 in the future. the 1 at the end makes no sense. I think this has something to do with the way you programmed the rates?
- Put the orders in the buy orderbook the other way around, so the order that will be filled first is at the top (like in other exchanges), right now it's at the bottom.

Furthermore: Exchange seems to work decently now.
One more feature you really need is a graph that depicts all done trades and the history in price. ;) Without that, people can't keep track of what is happening.

I will start working on an API and graph as soon as I have some time (working on another project atm).

If you can do something quick and dirty on the API (just getting price info like https://bter.com/api/1/ticker/frc_btc) - that would be awesome so that I can get you on CoinChoose (and point some additional traffic).

One more thing: stack up orders at the same price visualy and keep track behind the scenes on what order to fill first (placement order)
Right now it's extremely easy to troll the whole exchange by placing thousand sell orders at the same price, because they will all be lined up below each other.

Is the exchange broken? I'm getting "We're sorry, but something went wrong." on all pages after signing up.

Yeah, it seems to be down, they probably didn't handle the load after diff increase on CNC  ???
