Title: Crack my bitcoin wallet address and get 0.155 btc + 0.5BTC
Post by: Butense on April 24, 2017, 12:24:30 AM
Here is the information for the address

   {
            "addr": "12KGAcU47BhCSQJCN9r2dHAvhDALMVsJkk",
            "balance": "15508294",
            "compressed": true,

            "reserve": 0
        },

EDIT: Was told that this information is necessary, so here you go

    "mkey": {
        "encrypted_key": "3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac6 1b5b03c582d724214",
        "nDerivationIterations": 80062,
        "nDerivationMethod": 0,
        "nID": 1,
        "otherParams": "",
        "salt": "d07e66c2606ae4fc"
    },

There is also another address within the wallet that has 3 btc that i am hoping to recover.  I will give the person who produces the successful password 0.5 in addition to the address above, but I guess youll have to trust me on following through.

Crack this wallet and feel free to take the money, but please message me the password! Or post it here

I forgot the password i used back in 2013 and im dying to figure it out so i can take funds from the other addresses in the wallet.  I really don't remember anything about the password but it wasnt very long

Also, does anyone have any time approximations for bruteforcing according to password length? Such as

5 char = xx min
6 char = xx min
7 char = xx min
and so on.  doesnt have to be exact in any sense im just trying to wrap my mind around how long it would take (assuming gpu acceleration)

Do you have any idea what your password might have been? It is extremely unlikely we could get the password unless you have some sort of an idea what it may have been.

Yeah exactly, you should give hints to a guy that you trust about your date of birth, name, pet name, anything that can be associated with your password. Otherwise it is very very hard for a hacker to just brute force his way in.

There are services that specialize in this - I'd do a quick Google search to see what you can find (or a search on this forum). I remember seeing a few back in Service Announcements, if you want to start there.

Good luck!

In what site did you generate the address?
Do you still have the wallet ID?

I literally don't remember anything about the password.  I can give you a couple of old passwords i was using around that time period and perhaps they were some modification of that.

The wallet is a bitcoinqt wallet and the posted json is from pywallet dumpwallet function.

I did just email dave from wallet recovery but i figured i'd give other people a try too.  I would post the full wallet but i would like to recover the 3 btc thats in another address.  Happy to give whoever cracks it an additional 0.5 bitcoin from the 3 bitcoin address.  Will add that to op now

Here's some potential passwords

Fromage243
FromageMadre96
FromageMadre966
FromageMadre966?
MadreFromage966
Po215ghyqaz
Poghy666qaz
Poghy667qaz
Poghy66qaz
TiltedQuittles87!
fromage244
fromagemadre
fromagemadre96
fromagemadre966
fromagemadre99
fromagemasdre96
jurgis343
jurgis43
pOghy2qaz
patikno
quiltedtittles87
qwertycunt890!
wqup4qmh

I did try all of them obviously and none of them worked.

Question: would it be feasible to crack an 8 char password given a-z A-Z 0-9?  I'm just curious, i don't remember the actual length.

The problem here is that when someone does crack this, for sure they'll just cash out your btc if it is larger than your reward.

Pretty sure that's only one of his addresses. He has not revealed any other encrypted private keys except that address's which has only 0.15 BTC in it. So whoever cracks that won't be able to get access to the rest of his wallet.

@OP for the 0.5 BTC reward you should escrow it to increase the legitimacy of your offer, especially as you are a newbie.

That's why i only provided one address as opposed to the whole wallet.  Just to make it clear, there are two addresses within this wallet that have funds.  The one above has .15.  The other one has 3.

How am I supposed to escrow it?  I don't have the keys for it! I suppose you could have a middle man receive both the private key from me and the password from the other person and send us our respective amounts - fee.  Im happy to do that

The data you need to try to brute-force the password is the following part of the wallet:

"mkey": {
        "encrypted_key": "xxxxx.....xxxxxxxxx",
        "nDerivationIterations": 60692,
        "nDerivationMethod": 0,
        "nID": 1,
        "otherParams": "",
        "salt": "xxxxxx.xxxxxxxxx"
    },

Without it, it's practically impossible.

None of the passphrases you suggested worked, at least for me.
Please try making a bigger list.
I wrote a script to aid bruteforcing the password, do you want it?

I clearly stated that they were starting points.  I wouldn't be offering $600+ if it was a passphrase i could do on my own.

Did you tie an email to the account? Do you remember what the email was if so? Do you have the password to that account? Perhaps you should also see other accounts you made during that time when you made the bitcoin address. Maybe some of the passwords will overlap/will trigger something that makes you remember.

There is no email to this.  It is a bitcoin qt wallet.  Every single password i've ever used in all my saved passwords is above (all changed, dont even try).

There is a service thread called lost password recovery for wallets or similar to that, if you search in forum "recover lost wallet password" there is a newbie or member I think with green trust, you send them partial info about your wallet and they will find your password.

I've reached out to a couple recovery services too.  Btw, all i care about is getting the password, doesn't matter who came up with it or from where.  If you come up with it indirectly, that person will get the bounty and they can then forward it part of it to whoever actually cracked it.  I may raise it to 1btc soon

The part that we would gain access to has 0.155 btc there's another part that he'll recover 3 btc from so yeah the initial .155 btc + .5 btc is .655 btc he's offering to pay to be able to keep the other 2.5btc

Have you try all possible passwords that you can think? Is your password have birthdate, symbols, case sensitive letters like this: LiGhPuLsAr07? Try to search you old passwords list in your computer i might be there or try to remember the most used password you used in 2013 and also how long is your password to bruteforce it? how many characters?

EDIT: did you save your wallet password on your computer?

I'm sure there are a lot of people here trying to use btcrecover to attempt this on their own - and surely there are more people stuck on extracting some information from what you've provided.
If using btcrecover the following information is needed for --data-extract.

Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:
Code:
YmM64LYAAfzSnXMMKY3nU446Bwnk/bc42KxhtbA8WC1yQhTQfmbCYGrk/L44AQAA5o2b

You can generate this by editing the extract scripts included in that tool. Excerpt from extract-bitcoincore-mkey-from-pywallet.py.

encrypted_master_keytest = "3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac61b5b03c582d724214" #Hardcode from OP
saltnumber = "d07e66c2606ae4fc" #Hardcode from OP

encrypted_master_key = base64.b16decode(encrypted_master_keytest, True)  # True means allow lowercase
salt                 = base64.b16decode(saltnumber, True)
iter_count           = int(80062)

print("Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:", file=sys.stderr)

# Only include the last two AES blocks (last 32 bytes) of the 48-byte encrypted master key
bytes = b"bc:" + encrypted_master_key[-32:] + salt + struct.pack("<I", iter_count)
crc_bytes = struct.pack("<I", zlib.crc32(bytes) & 0xffffffff)

print(base64.b64encode(bytes + crc_bytes))

If you've made it this far, then the issue is likely your amount of computing power; without either having a large amount of GPUs or a more defined tokens list / logic, then you cannot move forward.

You can try a command such as the following:

If someone manage to crack open the wallet, i think that person would just withdraw all the bitcoin out of the wallet.

Could you create a wallet with one of the passphrases given as example, so that I can test my bruteforce script (please publish it in the same format)? Thanks.

The user hasn't provided the wallet file - the best you can do with this method is discover their password via bruteforce. What you are not doing is calculating their privatekey.

Excerpt from extract-bitcoincore-mkey-from-pywallet.py.

encrypted_master_keytest = "3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac61b5b03c582d724214" #Hardcode from OP
saltnumber = "d07e66c2606ae4fc" #Hardcode from OP

encrypted_master_key = base64.b16decode(encrypted_master_keytest, True)  # True means allow lowercase
salt                 = base64.b16decode(saltnumber, True)
iter_count           = int(80062)

print("Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:", file=sys.stderr)

# Only include the last two AES blocks (last 32 bytes) of the 48-byte encrypted master key
bytes = b"bc:" + encrypted_master_key[-32:] + salt + struct.pack("<I", iter_count)
crc_bytes = struct.pack("<I", zlib.crc32(bytes) & 0xffffffff)

print(base64.b64encode(bytes + crc_bytes))

If you've made it this far, then the issue is likely your amount of computing power; without either having a large amount of GPUs or a more defined tokens list / logic, then you cannot move forward.

You can try a command such as the following:
Code:
C:\python27\python btcrecover.py --data-extract --enable-gpu  --tokenlist tokens.txt --typos 3 --typos-capslock --typos-swap --typos-repeat --pause

Hopefully we can help recover this for the OP. If I've made any mistakes above please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for the info in this post. It was useful for me as this is the first time I am messing with btcrecover.

It definitely takes quite some time to brute force passwords though especially without any definitive information about what the password might be. I'll see if I can come up with anything though.

No luck here, unfortunately. It would help if you had a bit more of an idea of the password or its length. Longer passwords are likely not gonna be possible to find without a better idea of the password.

Butense, can you pass your wallet.dat into this script? https://github.com/stricture/hashstack-server-plugin-hashcat/blob/master/scrapers/bitcoin2hashcat.py

syntax should be: bitcoin_hash.py wallet.dat > wallet.hash

then post here the content of the wallet.hash file, it should be a string like this: $bitcoin$96$d011a1b6a8d675b7a36d0cd2efaca32a9f8dc1d57d6d01a58399ea04e703e8bbb44899039326f7a00f171a7bbc854a54$16$1563277210780230$158555$96$628835426818227243334570448571536352510740823233055715845322741625407685873076027233865346542174$66$625882875480513751851333441623702852811440775888122046360561760525

It's useful to pass the info to hashcat in the correct syntax.

However, cracking speed seem very slow with this algorithm, so brute force is impossible (except for very short passwords). The only realistic possibility is try possible variations of the list of password you posted in the first post.

Question: would it be feasible to crack an 8 char password given a-z A-Z 0-9?  I'm just curious, i don't remember the actual length.

I tried it with hashcat, it says that extimated time is 3years and 61 days, however i'm using a laptop GPU with an hashpower on this algorithm of 110 H/s. Probabiy a modern desktop GPU can reach 1000 H/s or something similar. So, if your password is really 8 char or lower, it would take some month with a good GPU, and probably a few week/day if you use some rack of GPU (amazon offers something similar). But if your password is something like 10 char it would take many longer.

I can reach 10500 P/s in btcrecover on my GTX 1080, but even with an incomplete set of chars from the example passwords [Fromage243Md96?P15hyqz7TiltQus8!fjpOknwc0] it will take years to crack 8 chars.
Hashcat gives 8000 P/s (but not for this hash, I was trying to crack wallet with 1 BTC and unknown 11 char pwd in it that has 122023 hash iterations, so with 80062 speed should be around 12k P/s).
Longest sample pwd is 17 characters, bruteforcers can't event start bruting such passwords, either something overflows or it eats all the RAM :) Good luck bruteforcing that :D

Quote
it says that extimated time is 3years and 61 days
Mine too, which must be incorrect, it should be around 32 years for my charset according to http://calc.opensecurityresearch.com/
a-zA-Z0-9 will take 700 years on 10k P/s.

Bruteforcing , dictionary attack or whatever you may try seems to be far away from practical and chances of getting any luck is also less. I generally use third party applications due to which synchronising becomes no longer a problem. However, I will do a research and give it a shot in my spare time.

The mining process is basically cracking the system and once a certain amount of effort has been reached trying to recover a wallet, it is time to hang it up.  It is up to you when you get to that point and lost funds do suck, but that same amount of effort posting here, searching files and this and that can be applied to getting new funds and that becomes the best path at some point.

let me know if you need anything else.  like i said earlier, i doubt that any of the passwords i put on the first page are related to this wallet password, and i cant remember any more, so i can't really help you anymore on that front.  Best bet is to just bruteforce it.

I will split half of the entire wallet balance (~3.11 BTC amongst two addresses--1.5 BTC/$6300 reward!!!) to whoever solves it.  I think that $6k is a big enough bounty for people to throw real power at it.  If you manage to find the password, I'm happy to use a middleman to mediate the transfer.  At this point any bitcoin is better than none.  Good luck all, i can't think of anything else that could be helpful

I´m constantly having segmentation fault errors when trying to use a wordlist of just 1mb (not even thinking about using crackstation one that´s over 4gbs). I cropped the list removing every non-alphanumerical password, converted from utf8 to ascii or added the --utf8 when running, etc.

Has anyone had success using large wordlists / tokenlists?

I´m running btcrecover under Ubuntu 14.04 with 6 x RX 570s. It works smoothly with small tokenlists over 20kp´s.

Good try. You can use the mkey with btcrecover as outlined above.

For a case sensitive alphanumeric password (a–z, A–Z, 0–9), using a GPU cracking setup at around 20k pwds/second, it will take:

Length   Time (days)
5      0,5
6      33
7      2038
8      126354

So very difficult without some dictionary guessing.

Even for a million dollars it's not possible to bruteforce your password if it's uppercase/lowercase/numbers and 15 chars long without ANY information about the password contents.
It's not MD5 or SHA, the amount of iterations makes bruteforce extremely slow.
How is it possible to not remember anything about pwd you used? Try hypnosis :D

I have 5.54 bitcoin in one 33 character address from 2010, the wallet.dat file had been created with bitcoin-0.3.14-win32-setup.exe. I have a similar problem trying to find my private key from the "encrypted key", the wallet.dat file was overwritten, so I scanned drive with pywallet and it gives me the "encrypted key" string. How does one convert the encrypted key to the bitcoin format? Thanks for any help.

Look for btcrecover software: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover

Thanks for replies. Have just now installed btcrecover and will run it, but wanted to know what will convert the encrypted password to WIF format.
as in the original example in this thread.
 "addr": "12KGAcU47BhCSQJCN9r2dHAvhDALMVsJkk",
            "balance": "15508294",
            "compressed": true,
            "encrypted_privkey": "f912462631805fb602ad6ce5763d6394f25d6374e71a55be1dfe3948bc1f483a256685238ce6459 7ff0afe69b03a8183",

            "reserve": 0
How does one convert this "encrypted_privkey" to wallet import format? If one had the key how to deal with the encrypted key? Thanks.

You need to read the instructions, it's very well explained there. Not only that, but you are missing some more information.

Check the OP again, and the next few posts after that one.

OK, did more reading, although I don't have a complete grasp of this.  I ran
C:\btcrecover-master\extract-scripts>extract-bitcoincore-mkey.py c:\btcrecover-m
aster\wallet.dat
Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:
YmxxxxxxqaVIxxxxxxxx6PjjUxxxxxxh/Jaxxxxxx8x/GCitxxxxxxxxDxxxxxxx21

and got above long string
then ran:
C:\btcrecover-master>btcrecover.py --data-extract --passwordlist
Starting btcrecover 0.17.9 on Python 2.7.13 32-bit, 16-bit unicodes, 32-bit ints

Please enter the data from the extract script
> YmxxxxxxqaVIxxxxxxxx6PjjUxxxxxxh/Jaxxxxxx8x/GCitxxxxxxxxDxxxxxxx21
Please enter your password guesses, one per line (with no extra spaces)
Use exit() or Ctrl-Z plus Return to exit
password1
password2
password3

exit
Wallet difficulty: 61,696 SHA-512 iterations
Using 1 worker thread
5 of 7 [#################################--------------] 0:00:09, ETA:  0:00:03
Password found: 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'

How do I get the private key out of the script?  More reading ? :) Thanks for all your help.
Tried pywallet --dumpwallet on it again but was no help.
I think I have the answer bitcoin-tool ... but having trouble compiling it.

To geraldfrank:

Now that you have the password, you can run

Code:
$ pywallet.py --wallet=<your_wallet_file> --passphrase=<your_password> --dumpwallet

Hope that helps.

Could u RUN on btcrecover and share "Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64: generated from wallet.dat"

Title: Re: Crack my bitcoin wallet address and get 0.155 btc + 0.5BTC

Reposting here for anyone trying this with more hardware than I have.

Excerpt from extract-bitcoincore-mkey-from-pywallet.py.

encrypted_master_keytest = "3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac61b5b03c582d724214" #Hardcode from OP
saltnumber = "d07e66c2606ae4fc" #Hardcode from OP

encrypted_master_key = base64.b16decode(encrypted_master_keytest, True)  # True means allow lowercase
salt                 = base64.b16decode(saltnumber, True)
iter_count           = int(80062)

print("Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:", file=sys.stderr)

# Only include the last two AES blocks (last 32 bytes) of the 48-byte encrypted master key
bytes = b"bc:" + encrypted_master_key[-32:] + salt + struct.pack("<I", iter_count)
crc_bytes = struct.pack("<I", zlib.crc32(bytes) & 0xffffffff)

print(base64.b64encode(bytes + crc_bytes))

If you've made it this far, then the issue is likely your amount of computing power; without either having a large amount of GPUs or a more defined tokens list / logic, then you cannot move forward.

You can try a command such as the following:
Code:
C:\python27\python btcrecover.py --data-extract --enable-gpu  --tokenlist tokens.txt --typos 3 --typos-capslock --typos-swap --typos-repeat --pause

Hopefully we can help recover this for the OP. If I've made any mistakes above please let me know. Thanks.

EDIT:

Adding link to the btcrecover github as credit is due to them.

How can they get the funds? You still require access to the actual wallet.dat file after you figure out the password.

Password found: 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'

This is the closest way to gain access to this bitcoin, that never been circulated since 2013.

The password will become more difficult if you add symbols to your password instead of just numbers, letters or combination of two.

P.S I will save all the information here for the future, who knows I might be able to crack this when the time is right.  :)

Hello Butense,
Please run
C:\btcrecover-master\extract-scripts>extract-bitcoincore-mkey.py c:\btcrecover-m
aster\wallet.dat
Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:
YmxxxxxxqaVIxxxxxxxx6PjjUxxxxxxh/Jaxxxxxx8x/GCitxxxxxxxxDxxxxxxx21

and share the data

At least let me too try decrypting the password.

Even you know as it still require access to the actual wallet.dat file after you figure out the password as told by @ncsupanda

It is impossible, it would take 85 days with a proper mining rig (6 x rx580) to brute force 8 characters long password consisting of only lower case letters.

Yes and the password make sense only to me. No dictionary brute force program can decrypt it and honestly since I am years ahead compared to even quantum computers in my brain(password only exist in my brain), chances are no one will ever do, at least not in this lifetime.

I literally don't remember anything about the password.  I can give you a couple of old passwords i was using around that time period and perhaps they were some modification of that.

The wallet is a bitcoinqt wallet and the posted json is from pywallet dumpwallet function.

I did just email dave from wallet recovery but i figured i'd give other people a try too.  I would post the full wallet but i would like to recover the 3 btc thats in another address.  Happy to give whoever cracks it an additional 0.5 bitcoin from the 3 bitcoin address.  Will add that to op now

Here's some potential passwords

Fromage243
FromageMadre96
FromageMadre966
FromageMadre966?
MadreFromage966
Po215ghyqaz
Poghy666qaz
Poghy667qaz
Poghy66qaz
TiltedQuittles87!
fromage244
fromagemadre
fromagemadre96
fromagemadre966
fromagemadre99
fromagemasdre96
jurgis343
jurgis43
pOghy2qaz
patikno
quiltedtittles87
qwertycunt890!
wqup4qmh

I did try all of them obviously and none of them worked.

Question: would it be feasible to crack an 8 char password given a-z A-Z 0-9?  I'm just curious, i don't remember the actual length.

If I could crack it, i'll just give you some sats. Just kidding. Anyway, why in the hell did you lose your keys?

Agreed. Straight up brute force will take too long and would use more in electricity than you'd get in bitcoin, even at peak prices. However, if the owner can provide part of the password give or take 5-6 chrs, then it's possible.

6 Chrs of ?a = 68 days, which is about $500 US in electricity. I'll burn that for .5BTC.

also, I'm getting ~250kH/s on RAR5 so 65 characters is outside of the realm of possibility.

There is a free online service to recover passwords http://hackybirthday.com (http://hackybirthday.com).
You just have to enter Start -> symbol +
and go combining TXT files, characters and dates.
https://imageshack.com/a/img923/97/wujZzs.png
These people I know, they recover purses, but you have to write them.

Quote from: Butense
Here is the information for the address

EDIT: Was told that this information is necessary, so here you go

    "mkey": {
        "encrypted_key": "3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac6 1b5b03c582d724214",
        "nDerivationIterations": 80062,
        "nDerivationMethod": 0,
        "nID": 1,
        "otherParams": "",
        "salt": "d07e66c2606ae4fc"
    },

Is there someone who can help me try and recover with this information above?  I can see it in bitcoin2john.py, but I think I don't need the wallet.dat, is that correct?  He can run the python script and post the hash, which is safer.  Then all that anyone can do is recover the password for wallet.dat, but not the private key(s), so the funds cannot be stolen. (Is that correct?)  Otherwise he could share wallet.dat with someone if he wants to, with some detailed information about the person recovering for some assurance that he could hit back if the funds are stolen.

Quote from: Butense
There is also another address within the wallet that has 3 btc that i am hoping to recover.  I will give the person who produces the successful password 0.5 in addition to the address above, but I guess youll have to trust me on following through.

Crack this wallet and feel free to take the money, but please message me the password! Or post it here

Just a bounty you feel is worth the recovery, if successful, otherwise cost of recovery is sufficient. :)

Quote from: Butense
I forgot the password i used back in 2013 and im dying to figure it out so i can take funds from the other addresses in the wallet.  I really don't remember anything about the password but it wasnt very long

Also, does anyone have any time approximations for bruteforcing according to password length? Such as

5 char = xx min

About 3.5 hours for me, assuming charset a-z, A-Z, 0-9 (62 possible characters in pwd)

Quote from: Butense
6 char = xx min

About 9 days, with above charset.  Or just a-z or A-Z (either) and digits: 8 hours.

Quote from: Butense
7 char = xx min

With just lowers or uppers, and digits: 9 days.
With charset a-z A-Z 0-9 for me, about 226 days.  That assumes 75,500 h/sec.

With charset a-z A-Z 0-9 length 8 chars, again with 75,500 cracks at wallet.dat per second in a rather blind fashion, the entire kespace: 95 years or so.

This assumes cracking the latest Bitcoin Core wallet.dat.

I could give it a good go with the info I need and estimate cost/time, or I might just get lucky with the possible passwords you posted and some good rule sets with my own scripts derived from others that generate candidates from known (or guessed, and not quite correct) information.

Let me know if you'd like me to have a crack at it...  I can double my compute power at least, so I might have a reasonable chance.

There are some other possibilities for address 12KGAcU47BhCSQJCN9r2dHAvhDALMVsJkk.  I might give those the old college try.  It's a bit of a stab in the dark, but worth a shot for a little while to see what happens.  I'll post back if I get any interesting results.  Some of them I will have to ask for help with, so I could be a few days.

Good luck!

I apologize for the late response.  Here is the result from that script

$bitcoin$96$3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac61b5b03c582d724214$16$d07e66c2606ae4fc$80062$96$0d19a16dcbaa53570214fbeea16c65721f5dc28513053de870c7f8437222e3620be2ee0c92b4e3fdd1ef61ef7f20ae96$130$04fec0d307bdda75bc9cd4861a519d92814ef934cae6bddfac84ccf79356d93bc6399d1ca0e6f25dd6b3bb6b5db7d2d505e985e99c6cec46c8604ec203ce7f487e

let me know if you need anything else.  like i said earlier, i doubt that any of the passwords i put on the first page are related to this wallet password, and i cant remember any more, so i can't really help you anymore on that front.

Good day.

I've sent you a personal message but it didn't go through cause Newbie is not allowed to send you a message.

if you can kindly contact me at Telegram  (http://t.me/Morarity1) I'd like to talk to you regarding this offer.

....

You don't need to.  Just install Bitcoin-Core on a system that has never had it or one that has no coins on it and put a copy of your wallet.dat in the bitcoin Application directory.  Then open Bitcoin-core and type in your password.  You can afford to buy yourself a new machine with lots of hard-drive space and RAM now.

If it's true your pain is a lot more intense :)
I guess we'll have to wait for quantum PCs to become mainstream to bruteforce passwords for these wallets.

I think no one here has even come close to finding the private key yet. I don't understand why the publisher doesn't share it

Everything you need is in the OP: Crack the password, take 0.155 Bitcoin. PM OP the password with your Bitcoin address and you'll find out if he'll send you another 0.5 Bitcoin.
What additional info do you need?
