Title: Sapphire RX 480 fail to perma overclock?
Post by: jenia1 on April 27, 2017, 04:06:24 PM
Good day folks!

this issue is bothering me for the past 4 days. yes 4 days! can't run my rig properly so i address the masses with hope for salvation.

i have bouth flashed my GPUs and now trying to OC them using sapphire TRIXX. i have set up the program to boot at startup and to load the profiles.
The problem is that i manage to OC every card separately when the monitor cable is connected to it, but then when i plug in all of the cards together, only the one with the cable connected to it is being OCed, while the others aren't. if i try to switch the cable to the next card, the program sees the , rofile, i can apply it, but nothing changes. i have to turn the pc off, switch the cable to that card, and then it works, but the OC is being lost on the previous card.. and vice versa. needless to say the the program sees all cards at the same time, its just impossible to manipulate them when the cable is not connected to them.
also after shutdowns i often get the Wattman message that it was restored to default due to unexpected shutdown.. although i shut it down via windows itself...

is there any way to make it work and startup with OC applied on all cards simultaneously?  i already had the radical idea of biosflashing the OC setting into each card but i am not sure where these values should be changed in polaris bios editor.

cheers!

what i managed to do is to plug all cards. then while the rig is running to manually move the screen cable from card to card while applying the OC setting. then all cards are being kept OCed. untill the next system crash or reset then i have to manually start all from 0 again.

is there no better way?
