Title: First Mining Rig Post by: Toxicable on April 28, 2017, 04:15:00 AM Hey guys, so im looking at buying my first mining rig and just wanted someone to review it.
Two things im uncertain about: -1000W PSU is going to be enough to power the 7 470s' but if not then I can grab the 1200W one -What brand memory the cards have, the website says "Manufacturer Part No: 11256-01-20G" but that's not like the P/N's i've seen around explaining what brand it is, like (A1637) Other things to note ust note: -Those prices are in NZD sorry -I've just got the one GPU there but planning on buying 7 in total since that's what the board can handle PCPartPicker part list (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/LhfZKZ) / Price breakdown by merchant (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/LhfZKZ/by_merchant/) CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/8gKhP6/intel-pentium-g4560-35ghz-dual-core-processor-bx80677g4560) ($87.40 @ PB Technologies) Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/F9Gj4D/msi-motherboard-z170agamingm5) ($200.00) Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/d72kcf/crucial-memory-ct4g4dfs8213) ($42.55 @ PB Technologies) Storage: Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/GPFXsY/kingston-ssdnow-uv400-120gb-25-solid-state-drive-suv400s37120g) ($78.17 @ PB Technologies) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 470 4GB NITRO+ Video Card (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/p28H99/sapphire-radeon-rx-470-4gb-nitro-video-card-11256-01) ($298.99 @ PB Technologies) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/dJ6BD3/evga-power-supply-220p21000xr) ($358.00) Other: PCIE Riser x 7 (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/60CM-USB-3-0-PCI-E-Express-1xTo-16x-Extender-Riser-Card-Adapter-SATA-4PIN-Power/32806659524.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10065_10151_10068_10136_10137_10060_10138_10155_10062_10156_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_10099_10103_10102_10096_10148_10147_10052_10053_10142_10107_10050_10051_10084_10083_10080_10082_10081_10110_10175_10111_10112_10113_10114_10181_10182_10032_10078_10079_10077_10073_10070_10123_10124,searchweb201603_4,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=c11b89c1-da39-457e-8437-3bf8a66d8502&algo_expid=0f809ae4-17e9-4418-8916-c7906098c4b0-5&algo_pvid=0f809ae4-17e9-4418-8916-c7906098c4b0) ($40.00) Total: $1105.11 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-04-28 16:12 NZST+1200 EDIT Revised version PCPartPicker part list (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/hdr8wV) / Price breakdown by merchant (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/hdr8wV/by_merchant/) CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/8gKhP6/intel-pentium-g4560-35ghz-dual-core-processor-bx80677g4560) ($87.40 @ PB Technologies) Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/gpH48d/msi-motherboard-z170agamingprocarbon) ($233.00) Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/d72kcf/crucial-memory-ct4g4dfs8213) ($42.55 @ PB Technologies) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 470 4GB NITRO+ Video Card (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/p28H99/sapphire-radeon-rx-470-4gb-nitro-video-card-11256-01) ($298.99 @ PB Technologies) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/jXTmP6/corsair-power-supply-cs750m) ($166.94 @ PB Technologies) Other: Corsair CSM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($166.00) Other: PCIE Riser x 7 ($40.00) Other: Frame box section 6m ($36.00) Other: Bolts x 18 ($12.60) Other: USB Drive 16GB ($14.00) Total: $1097.48 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-04-28 20:35 NZST+1200 Title: Re: First Mining Rig Post by: RentGPU on April 28, 2017, 05:14:05 AM Hey guys, so im looking at buying my first mining rig and just wanted someone to review it. Just make sure that the PSU's have a total number of connections that you need, but it can workout cheaper doing it this way. Ohh I didn't think about that, thanks for the heads up. With the new PSU setup I've got a slightly revise list now I'll have to wire up the 2 PSU's myself since you cant ship the Add2PSU to my NZ and I don't think they sell anything similar here PCPartPicker part list (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/hdr8wV) / Price breakdown by merchant (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/hdr8wV/by_merchant/) CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/8gKhP6/intel-pentium-g4560-35ghz-dual-core-processor-bx80677g4560) ($87.40 @ PB Technologies) Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/gpH48d/msi-motherboard-z170agamingprocarbon) ($233.00) Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/d72kcf/crucial-memory-ct4g4dfs8213) ($42.55 @ PB Technologies) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 470 4GB NITRO+ Video Card (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/p28H99/sapphire-radeon-rx-470-4gb-nitro-video-card-11256-01) ($298.99 @ PB Technologies) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/jXTmP6/corsair-power-supply-cs750m) ($166.94 @ PB Technologies) Other: Corsair CSM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($166.00) Other: PCIE Riser x 7 ($40.00) Other: Frame box section 6m ($36.00) Other: Bolts x 18 ($12.60) Other: USB Drive 16GB ($14.00) Total: $1097.48 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-04-28 20:35 NZST+1200 Title: Re: First Mining Rig Post by: cabslock on April 28, 2017, 07:16:20 AM The motherboard seems like an overkill to me.
