Title: Flashing a problematic RX 580 to RX 480 Post by: Flickspeed on April 28, 2017, 12:10:33 PM So I hear lots of people with 580s have some problems with new drivers detecting 6 cards, higher power draws etc...
Now I did see someone flash a 480 to 580 on you tube. Has anyone tried to flash vice versa a 580 to 480? It shouldn't be that big of a deal if it can be done 1 way it must be done the other way around too. If successful it will be away around all problems such as ability to use old drivers :) Please report back here if you try with the results. I forgot to mention, it is a good idea to use a bios from a card with the same memory manufacturer and capacity. So for example if the 580 8gb is samsung then you would want a bios meant for 480 8gb samsung. No1 tried yet? I dont have any 5 series, and people are asking to order but can't decide before this is cleared up. Title: Re: Flashing a problematic RX 580 to RX 480 Post by: Flickspeed on April 28, 2017, 09:55:57 PM Ok I have 1 positive feedback so far from overclockers forum:
