"Implement" is an interesting way of thinking about it. There's a group, co-led by Craig Wright that's going to propose to the local government that they adopt bitcoin as their official currency. I don't think this is a good idea. It could lead to the general public thinking that bitcoin became the currency of some small Caribbean islands. They are having a very attractive citizenship for investment program. It will be great if they accept payment in BTC for this citizenship.

I agree with this. They seem to rely mostly on those industries so any way to encourage more money to come in would be good. I don't even think those countries are heavy on exports and business outsourcing so this could help them get more money in with minimal effort. I sure hope they diversify though, those industries are not really always reliable since a sluggish world economy might reduce the number of people willing to go spend their money there. |
