Every time bitcoin price goes up,Altcoin price take a dip.No doubt bitcoin rule the crypto world and sooner or later it will become mainstream.
Once it happens, btc will be worth million dollar. Will then all Altcoin be died?Seems Altcoin price are inversely proportional to btc price, if btc keep rising, will Altcoin keep falling? .

It's mix sometimes majority of the altcoins went down sometimes went up or just stay so it's not a definite trend but most of the time altcoin do rise up also when Bitcoin rise up and it's good for the ecosystem..

People just move their money into bitcoin to get involved in the price rise. To so that they sell their alts.
That starts a little cycle of Alts falling, so people selling more to get into Bitcoin, meaning that the difference gets even bigger.

It'll only last a little while, until the Bitcoin price stabilises and people look at the new lower price of Alts, so move back into them!

I try not to stress too much about it, if you are in the big alts, they will bounce back.

That's also not true. It depends on the alternative coin itself. Most of the altcoins were painted red on most exchanges when bitcoin price got over $1350. The relation between Bitcoin and Altcoins prices is obvious, but not quite proportional.

Title: Re: Will bitcoin eventually kill Altcoin?

How could that be possible? I mean the value of bitcoins on dollar worth rises every time bitcoin rises. The bitcoin value of altcoin might drop in value but since bitcoin value increases the altcoin value for dollar increases too.

As long as the bitcoin rise in dollar % is higher than the drop of altcoin % than the amount of altcoin in dollar value keeps increasing as well.

Every time bitcoin price goes up,Altcoin price take a dip.
This is not allway the case, market is not so simple. Sometimes traders sell off altcoins to purchase Bitcoin, that is why dip is created.
However it is usually temporary situation. In general, stronger Bitcoin = stronger altcoins

No doubt bitcoin rule the crypto world and sooner or later it will become mainstream.
Once it happens, btc will be worth million dollar. Will then all Altcoin be died?Seems Altcoin price are inversely proportional to btc price, if btc keep rising, will Altcoin keep falling? .
There always be some new altcoins created, because either: developers want to create something new and unique or they want to grab your money by creating another pump and dump altcoin.

Did the US dollar eventually kill the altdollars?
Dollar will eventually kill itself. Just wait and see.

Not because all altcoins are red today while bitcoin is surging up, doesn't mean it is that way all the time. There were times when altcoin price surges as bitcoin price goes up. It all depends on what is causing the price to go up.

This should tell you all you need to know

http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

Unless there's a monumental reversal, unlike the world has ever seen, bitcoin may eventually end up holding about 10-20% of the total crypto market. Still the No.1 currency but not as dominant as people are used to now. Give it 5 more years. But I don't believe that BTC will be above 50% dominance by the end of the year. Might even be sooner, maybe around September. Alts are growing too fast. Bitcoin is as well but just not as fast.

I would say no, even bitcoin price goes up eventually the Altcoins will not go down thats because some of the altcoins out in the market are successful and won't hit bottom rock even if the bitcoin increases constantly, especially there are still investors that invested on legit Altcoins which still be organized and running. Still altcoins won't beat bitcoin in terms of price.  :)

some altcoins will die for sure. but bitcoin and many altcoins will continue to survive.

what people need to understand is bitcoin needs altcoins and altcoins need bitcoin.

if altcoins die or bitcoin die, this ecosystem will certainly collapse.

Yep it lags, but also think about the fiat value. It stays most of the time the same and if the coin stays the same in BTC it will even rise!

I disagree completely with this logic. Why exactly bitcoin needs altcoins for? It is the other way around, altcoins needs bitcoin to survive.
Most altcoins can only be traded for bitcoin, and BTC can be traded directly to fiat money of your choice.

If there were no altcoins then BTC would be worth more that we can possibly imagine, mostly because all attention would be focused on this one ultimate coin.

Altcoin will not die, Although there will no person using it in the future. Altcoin will be following the bitcoin.
After bitcoin gets a pump and another will following it. But it will not be getting an instant pump. The bitcoin traders migrate to another coin and make more profit for his wallet.
That's just a bullish trend in crypto, Bitcoin will not make altcoin die in the future. Bitcoin pump and altdump, that's just a correction trend for all of the coins.

Well like the ancient times it all started as the money of 1 empire but time after time  many resurgence are coming then they come up with there own currency. I am not saying this altcoins want to dethrone btc but there is always. It's just saying Btc is the leading country but other countries have there own fiat for there own monetary surveillance.

Bitcoin won't killed any alt coin, no matter how much is the bitcoin price as long as there are a lot of investors want to invest in that coin then the coin will survive, when bitcoin is up alt coin usually will go down, and the investor will look it as an opportunity to horde the alt coin so with the rising demands the price will be up again

I do not know why people keep put compare BTC with dollar . I think BTC should be compared to gold not dollor . BTC is the gold of crypto currency world . That is how i see it and i agree that BTC do not need altcoins to survive but altcoins do need BTC to survive .

For any country before they print there currency they should cover it with gold so currency need gold to be printed but gold will always be gold wither there is another currency or not .

I do not think that Bitcoin and Altcoin will kill one another.  I believe the one who will die a natural death is the altcoin that brings no purpose in the cryptocommunity.  But those with legit projects and technology will eventually work harmoniously with one another.  This will benefit both Bitcoin and altcoin community thus helping each other to stabilize and keep on progressing.

more like vise versa

Care to elaborate, and please do not use the coinmarket cap, it is obvious that there is a huge discrepancy when it comes to calculation of the actual dominance.

It wont happen at all and theres no effect if Bitcoin would increase its price it may dip some altcoin but because those users decide to go on bitcoin. In other words, altcoin and Bitcoin itself do really rely on its users and as long there are people who do use or buy it then it wont die no matter how the price of bitcoin would be high.It will remain as long theres an adoption.

The relationship between bitcoin and alt is such that can be regarded that having inverse relationship but that does not mean they can survive without each other. Its true that to majority of people bitcoin is the only cryoto currency but these people only use it as a currency and they hardly play any role in the increase in the market price neither the market capitalisation but those who use it for trades and exchanges so bitcoin can not kill alt no matter how high it goes because they are the ones that give relevance to bitcoin in my opinion and when they are gone then there won't need for exchange sites which will equally takes its toll on the price of bitcoin.

As said the requirement of the user base will change, but the base of the innovation is always the leader. So altcoins will serve to be the support system growing along with bitcoin. These days I hope lot of potential altcoins are emerging in the market and makes good impact on the cryptocurrency network promotion.

Yap and i think it is the otherwise, bitcoin gave life to altcoins. It it started with only one known coin then these altcoins spawned from thin air. Maybe right know it's hard for other coins to increase via price but still. Many altcoins now have different agendas on there own. It maybe hard to control but in there own time they might actually might get high. Because technically it is still too early to decide whether coins are dying or not.

BTC is dying. You did not notice? BTC is slow, expensive and wasteful. Whats good about it?
Transaction-fees are exploding with 1200% a year, it consumes electricity for several million dollars a day (for not much good reason), and is slow.

You think people want to put up with that, just so their money have a fancy name? really?

Actually I do not find any reason to say bitcoin will kill altcoin, bitcoin and altcoin always exist together, both inseparable and always have the balance to make the market stable. If bitcoin or altcoin dies, the market will surely have big fluctuations and affect the economics, so I believe that bitcoin will never kill altcoin and vice versa. Sometimes we can see the price of bitcoin increase sharply and altcoin will drop because the balance between altcoin and Bitcoin lost in a short time but then bitcoin will stabilize and the altcoin will rise again to balance with bitcoin

This is not true, the opposite happens historically - when BTC goes up ALTS follow.

were you living under a rock this past December?  They eventually do, but there is always a lag, btc price rise has always hurt alt prices in the short term.
When bitcoin price rises, immediately it has a negative impact on altcoins prices but temporarily. Then slowly, altcoins start to recover from price fall.We could not say that altcoins survival is entirely dependent on bitcoin.Altcoins do have some features not provided by bitcoin,So altcoins would still exist even if bitcoin price goes to million dollar.

Bitcoin won't kill altcoins at any instance. The reason is that bitcoin needs something to compete. Altcoins will always go as a support and the for the increased circulation of virtual currency. Trading seems to be the industry that makes a larger transaction and more people into profiting. For this it requires more altcoins.

I think it is quite wrong. Look at bitcoin and main alts right now to see that there are times when btc growth leads to altcoins growing as well. From  16 to 20 of May bitcoin grew from $1700 to $2000. Ethereum grew from $90 to $120 at the same time with no drops in price (maybe the price went from $92 to $89 but that is too insignificant). Litecoin went down from 25 to 20 dollars and grew up to 27 dollars there. So I think we should stop saying that btc price grows has negative impact on the price of altcoins, since it is just wrong.

I guess it is really not i guess you can notice when the price of bitcoin go up the altcoin price go down also and vice versa but we can see that there is a delay in the price in the market and when the price of bitcoin go up it go up a lot than it go down i guess it also happened in altcoin when it go down it go up a lot in the market so eventually it cannot be killed but still the ranged of price in the bitcoin and altcoins is really a long run.

Altcoin price does not took a dip every time when bitcoin price goes up
I observe the main thing is the way how to bitcoin price go up if price of bitcoin make a pump for example the price pump up to 20% 30% etc. in one or two candles in an hour then the buyer feel hype and they sell altocoin and move to buy bitcoin and then price of altcoins goes down but if the bitcoin price grow smoothly for example 20% increase in 3 days or more while not a big decrease then altcoins have no effect.

It is happening now because at this time most of the people does no know the actual worth of other altcoins that is why when bitcoin is on the move altcoins take a dump but when this crypto world understand the real worth of other crypto currencies also than I think market will be more stable things like this will not happen or will be less.

That's not true, Most of the time when bitcoin goes value up it affects altcoins to go down but it's just a little and altcoins will comeback to it's price after few days just remember when altcoins has a dump there's a good pump so don't be worry when bitcoin going up and affects your coins in your portfolio.
But choose a good coin to hold many of coins didn't affect by the bitcoins when it goes to pump.
All coins on the coinmarketcap toplist is good to invest and hold ;)

Bitcoin is taking the role of the reserve currency (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserve_currency). The negative effects of the BTC's inflation are only limited to other altcoins and not as a whole. There are altcoins that follows when BTC rises. Maybe BTC won't kill alts , it will just have a higher value instead, and in most of the alts.

I don't see bitcoin killing altcoin because its what make the crypto currency interesting. If we have no Alts, then there is no need to trade which will then mean we there will be nothing to act as push or pull for the price of bitcoin. Aside that, I see enormous pressure if bitcoin is the only crypto currency which I doubt bitcoin will be able to handle couple with the new alts coming in every day as much as one is going down, several is taking over.

Not always and not for all of the altcoins. Some of them are incresing as well when bitcoin drops.  But we must also think the other way around, one of the main thing that btc grows is that altcoins grow up :) I don`t think that bitcoin will kill altcoins somehow :)

It is not a major indication that when bitcoin's price pump, altcoins price will drop all of a sudden. It just happen that various altcoin types also get along with the pump of bitcoin. Also, the opposite interaction between bitcoin and altcoin is the balance running on the market. It is not that when bitcoin pumps, altcoin must also pump. It must be a good indication to buy more altcoins because once you trade it for btc, you will have a great profit feedback. Bitcoin will not be a cause to the death of altcoin because it won't happen.

Still the No.1 currency but not as dominant as people are used to now. Give it 5 more years. But I don't believe that BTC will be above 50% dominance by the end of the year. Might even be sooner, maybe around September. Alts are growing too fast. Bitcoin is as well but just not as fast.
Correct bitcoin cannot grow as fast, even if it is the best coin out there, there are hundreds of coins created every year and some of them become very successful so it is impossible for bitcoin to retain the dominance that it had in the past.

I dont think actual fact is most of the coins not depend on each other like bitcoin . Every coins come of with particular solution like ether is the currency holding ethereum platform were able to create smart contracts for transacting token created need some ether (ETH) crypto currency  so ethereum gains popularity .

Every time bitcoin price goes up,Altcoin price take a dip.No doubt bitcoin rule the crypto world and sooner or later it will become mainstream.
Once it happens, btc will be worth million dollar. Will then all Altcoin be died?Seems Altcoin price are inversely proportional to btc price, if btc keep rising, will Altcoin keep falling? .

I don't think so, altcoin price action depend many things like supply, demand, news speculation and btc price itself. Altcoin will grow up follow bitcoin as their mother coins. But market has their own answer, as a trader or investor we only can predict. That's why we need stop loss and money management for safety. Altcoin will never died, never lose faith on that. Good luck.

Yeah like just happen last weekend as bitcoin having dips as altcoin is. The exchanges had gone red and many are in panic mode. Every alt coin follows bitcoin fluctuations, if you're lucky enough to choose good altcoins that when bitcoin pumps as well as your coin.

There is an opposite relationship between bitcoin and altcoin, when people prefer to spend their money on bitoins, altcoin will weaken slightly automatically and all will be fine

I think its not. Even bitcoin price become to high still there are altcoin who will stay behind it. But its true that bitcoin was the one who has a high price compare to other altcoin. Not just because bitcoin price is rising it means that altcoin will fall.

I think the comparison should be Bitcoin to Dollar when the price of Bitcoin is less, note down the prices of altcoins. When it rises compare the same and note down the prices. You'll see that altcoin price has also increased.

Definitely, and not just because bitcoin was above from altcoin it means that it can make altcoin die. It wont happen because altcoin was the other type of coin that can be used if you dont have bitcoin. And this was also the reason why we have more bitcoin. The price of it was just nesrly connected to each other and thats why when bitcoin goes up altcoin follow.

Bitcoin is already killing the altcoins and the altcoins are just resisting it because if you will look at the overall market, bitcoin is always in the top 1 and that is the proof that bitcoin cannot be defeated by any altcoins because it is the most valuable and trusted coin in the market.

I think the price all of the coin still pegged with the bitcoin outside from the crypto popularity

No. The possibility for that thing of altcoin death because of bitcoin pump is impossible. Because not all the times that when bitcoin price pumps, altcoin price dumps. There are instances that they do both acquire the pumps. Also the reason why bitcoin has its high price value compared to altcoins because many users preferably use bitcoin a lot. And also to maintain balance in the market, there must be an opposite scenario to happen which is dump and pump to maintain the balance it the price cycle.

I pikiri, it will not be possible because of the price of the bitcoin is still in the top spot in the market trades even be high there is still altcoin who will stay behind it. But the true bitcoin is a person who has a high price compared to other altcoin. Not just because of the price of the bitcoin ride that means that altcoin will fall.

At first I thought that yes,but then  when you observe for some time altcoins like Dash,Eth and some others you realize that it really is not like that, where maybe if I should be in complete agreement is that effectively the one at the top at the moment is BTC and the one that has come closest is ETH, and really I do not know if that can be different in later years or if a new super coin can be able to surpass or to rival with BTC.

Both bitcoin and altcoin will need to survive along side each other with one not killing each other. The alt section of the crypto sections make the entire crypto world interesting by providing enabling environment for trading activities which is a major backing for bitcoin especially those who are actively involved. This alone is what makes the crypto world bigger and bigger that is even commanding the attention it is today.

Not all altcoin falls when bitcoin rises. Yes it is true every btc ride altcoin definitely fell for somehow it happened or there was a game. But what I know when bitcoin rises is how many coins keep following the bitcoin like eth and ltc. I think it is not possible eth and ltc will match btc.

It is difficult to predict the price of coins in the crypto world.
Either bitcoin or altcoin is just as difficult to guess.
I think their price competition is very interesting.
But for now both are very useful in the world of cripto although bitcoin is still the most expensive coin.
And altcoin can still survive to compete with bitcoin.

Altcoins actually help Bitcoin and VICE VERSA. Think about it, so many speculators enter the crypto currency markets and they first purchase Bitcoin to buy other altcoins. I think both work in synergy with each other. Good altcoins and blockchain platforms and tokens will evolve and this competition to grow Blockchain technology is healty for Bitcoin in the long run also. I do not think Bitcoin will kill other altcoins, only bad and useless altcoins will commit suicide and die because they will be useless by themselves.

I'm agree with your opinion in some measure,is as if for example each altcoin aimed at attracting a very particular niche of users that in some other way they would not be very interested in cryptocurrencies  or it would take them longer to know and that way comes what you mention in your comment and can be rephrased as follows at some point they must do the conversion between BTC and altcoin forming a kind of synergy with each other, maybe the biggest challenge for users is to detect which ones have a future and which ones do not.

If you are observing altcoin price on exchangers where btc is used as main currency you will really find it easy to conclude that way because altcoin price are all over btc price but if you will observe bitcoin and other altcoin price against usd or other cold cash currency you can observe that its not neccessary that alts would go low once btc pumps up. Another reason why it looks like alts become lesser in value is because btc volume grows faster than them btc price increase rapidly while others are pumping slower.

I think the revised is the case from the historical data from most of the popular exchangers platform when ever bitcoin go up most of the popular altcoins also go up and when it go than there also go down. For example last week that bitcoin fell below $1800 Ethereum fell to $160 and litecoin $37 and now that bitcoin is up you can see that there are all up again. Bitcoin is serving as central bank to all the altcoins! Bitcoin is there boss and a good boss that carries it subordinates along.

Bitcoin and alt coins has good collaboration and it has a domino effect when it comes to the market of both chains. We know that if bitcoin is increasing there is something happening with the market of alt coins and the same thing with alt coins in other situations. Alt coins are become stronger today and it won't be killed easily anyway by bitcoin. But people will always prefer to bitcoin.

I think that Decentralized crypto cant be killed.Logically, when BTC  price go up, altcoin price will rise. There is one moment : If bitcoin price goes down , altcoin price will go down olso, because everyone will change altcoints to bitcoin.I believe nobody will buy Altcoins and prefer btc instead.Even big holders of bitcoin will give up eventually and sell their coins for bitcoin. This will render Altcoins useless and mean death for them.altcoin will help people to buy bitcoin by simply buying altcoin first at the cheap price amount then once the value increase at x10 or more it can be sold as more than the capital they invest. If the value of bitcoin triples, it wont automatically triples the altcoin. More so, a lot of this coins are dumping, which most people will like to hold their coin until it stabilize a little.

I agree on your first statement with regards to actual blockchains and pure coins. I think tokens with their own apps that link to the real world can be plentiful and very diverse in their utility. This is where every niche products will come in to play and I can easily see there being dozens of successful apps linked to tokens that operate on the blockchain.

The big challenge for altcoins will be when pegged sidechains will arrive. They could integrate smart contracts (Rootstock etc.), privacy, and other nice functions - almost everything where altcoins today excel and Bitcoin does not. Then I expect many altcoins to fall into irrelevancy.

But what Bitcoin's sidechain won't be able to copy are better and more efficient consensus methods like Proof of Stake and Proof of Burn. Because sidechains can be merged-mined but there would still be a lot of energy waste and therefore, also the transaction fees would be substantial. So coins like Peercoin, Slimcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141676.400), or Burst whose "selling point" is their efficiency and are able to offer minimal fees should not be in danger.

When bitcoin prices rise the altcoin prices don't always go down, and actually bitcoin users also need altcoin for trading, traders will not let altcoin die and new altcoins will be born every time. When the pump there will be a dump when the bitcoin decline and make altcoin demand rise.

were you living under a rock this past December?  They eventually do, but there is always a lag, btc price rise has always hurt alt prices in the short term.
When bitcoin price rises, immediately it has a negative impact on altcoins prices but temporarily. Then slowly, altcoins start to recover from price fall.We could not say that altcoins survival is entirely dependent on bitcoin.Altcoins do have some features not provided by bitcoin,So altcoins would still exist even if bitcoin price goes to million dollar.
I disagree with the part of altcoins not being dependent on bitcoin, altcoins depend a lot on bitcoin, if bitcoin were to disappear I  predict that more than 80% of the altcoins will disappear too, only the altcoins that have some market and are not pure speculation will survive.

The question should be will one of the altcoins ever kill bitcoin? I know that we like to believe in bitcoin that it will last forever and will be the future of digital money, but speaking technologically, there surely will be much better coins. We are just starting to see new altcoins that are popping out almost everyday. Bitcoin was the first of it's kind but someone in few years will probably develop a better tool, a better currency. Now there are hundreds of altcoin, in few years, or even I'd talk about a year or so, most of them will be dead, some already died and were living only to be speculated than dumped and never used again.

That does not happen all the time, most of the time when bitcoin goes up there is a delayed response in altcoins, if you are quick enough you can take advantage of this and buy cheaper altcoin for a few moments and then get even more profits that way.

Bitcoin will never kill altcoins. Bitcoin only supports altcoin and make the cryptocurrency world become better. As you can see, there are many altcoins follow the bitcoin path and right now, they are gaining a huge price with a good market cap. Right now, once bitcoin increase its price, altcoin will make the same move

Not all altcoins, you can notice that the prices of ether based altcoins are related to ether price, unless they have bitcoin reserve, some projects have bitcoin and ether reserve which is good point in my opinion.

BTC are actually benefiting them (most of them)

Only the strongest survives! Lots of alts with similar features, we would see dominance by certain cryptocurrencies, some would just dies off
I agree with you. Bitcoin and some altcoins are greater than others and they will dominate the cryptocurrency. From my perspective, in the future, about 10 years later, there will be only 10 to 20 coins survive and other coins will be considered as trashcoin and will be vanished forever
Most of the coins in the market today are going to disappear but if you think in the future there are only going to be 10 to 20 coins that is a mistake, since many more coins are going to be created in the next years since the market for alts keeps growing.

Yeah of course alt kept growing and eventually it dies if it's price will not be valuable for a long time. Since bitcoin is the top od most currencies today it doesn't gives justifications that itself killed the alts. Alts wi remain as promising as bitcoin did if ever it's type of coin will really bit the bigger spike of the edge of digital currency just one example of that coin is ethereum. It just started an ICO project previously then by long period of in trading it showed bigger potential in the marketplace and it's now second to bitcoin in the crypto currency market.

Nope, its not. Bitcoin is useless without altcoins. I think the reason of why the price of bitcoin is rise is because of altcoins. For my own analysis, as you can see in the graph from 2014 upto this year 2017. The bitcoin price is continue increasing and the altcoins is increased in numbers. Therefore, the many altcoins made the more bitcoin price increase.

all the coin are depend on bitcoin and can run without it. after 1 august this will be clear no body can clear about this problem.and if any body is saying something about it that is their assumption. and that is not 100% accurate.

We will see on August what can really happen, there were news that the August 1 event will be delay but as of now bitcointalk news as read above it says that we still need to prepare,so let's hope for the fast recovery of coins if dumps really occur or hope for successful development if ever.

Most of the altcoins value depends on bitcoin, that really means, when bitcoin pumps, obviously the price of altcoins will not follow the dump of the price of bitcoin because the bitcoin is the only one pumping not the altcoin. Bitcoin's pump don't include the pump of altcoins.

Where did you get that information? FYI Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrency, thus alt-coins is just a clone copied of bitcoin codes. Both value of bitcoin and alt-coins is different but only based in USD fiat currency. If bitcoin price is getting high it is because the demands is getting high compared to the supplies which is going to be limited.

Bitcoin won't kill what you guys call "altcoins" in the same way that altcoins won't kill bitcoin because they have different purposes.

Some (or most) of the alternative coins discussed here are platforms using the blockchain wuth more functionality than just coins. We have smart contract platforms, games, investment funds, advertisement platforms. Bitcoin will probably remain as the entrance door for the cryptocurrency world (even when Ethereum surpasses its market cap) and maybe the global digital currency of choice for general population, but Ethereum and its tokens will be the technology behind Web 3.0

I don't think bitcoin will kill altcoins or vice versa. They are in use for different purposes, they may seem they are in competition but mostly not. All people in crypto biz have lots of different altcoins and bitcoin together.

I think you are mistaken. When bitcoin goes up in value usually altcoins go up as well. I think primarily this has to do with the fact that people trade Altcoins for bitcoins a lot of the time. Their market activity is going to mirror one another and therefore their values should trend the same way.

Am I wrong in that line of thinking?

altcoin vs bitcoin in which case bitcoin prices are superior because the average altcoin sells its stock to bitcoin.different from another altcoin that every sale can buy directly to dollar like ETH or STELLAR.in terms of price they can compete with bitcoin in the future

BTC gradually, tends to increase. Occasionally even if the exchange rate is change, since its inception till now increment is noticeable. In my opinion, on some countries officially creation of active use with BTC shows the increasing of its value. If it is not an unexpected event the next 3-5 years noticeable increase on 5-10 times. Also, on former past work stoppage of many coins of Poloniex resulted as people keep away from subcoin. Subcoin also well-known and has potential to increase on future. But BTC already is certified. Maybe seperately they can contunie their activity.

There will be a project eventually that surpasses bitcoin's market cap. The recent events have shown that bitcoin is too dependent on miners and is nothing closed to decentralized. My bet is that other consensus mechanisms will emerge victorious eventually. Bitcoin will not kill alts for sure. One must be a very narrow minded person to believe that.

Probably not. Different altcoins, such as Tezos and EOS just raised $200m+. This will keep their development up for years, and will make a more sophisticated product eventually. Bitcoin will not die, it will still be #1 coin by market cap, but mainly because of it being used as store of value / means of payment.

It won't kill Altcoins. The price of bitcoin's rising up so fast is merely due to speculation. Same thing happens with altcoins but in a lower scale.

No it wont kill altcoin, they would co-exist with each other just like what we are seeing right now on usd and other fiat currencies. Don't just base your judgment if bitcoin can really kill altcoins or not on charts alone because charts only tells the past price movements, not developments. Instead of saying that bitcoin can eventually kill altcoin, Ill say it the other way around. Altcoin might eventually kill bitcoin but the chance of it happening is so low.

Not all altcoins are inversely proportional to bitcoin. Da altcoin which follows bitcoin prices such as ethereum, namecoin, litecoin, NVC and PPC. The example of altcoin I mentioned has long been learned and consistently altcoin above always follow the fluctuation of bitcoin price.

Bitcoin and altcoin are two interrelated elements, the factor that bits the bitcoin up in a duct is the altcoin that always sustains it from below. Even I think if there is no altcoin, maybe a bitcoin will die.

Most of them, but I think in the end some will survive. There are some technologies that may be difficult to implement in Bitcoin, and some of these alts can work as a good hedge.

There are so many altcoins in the market and most of the altcoins are dead coin and dump in the market still the bitcoin have a high narket value but i guess no way that bitvoin gonna kill alternative coin because i guess other altcoins also have a successful token and there are a lot of altcoins.

It's mix sometimes majority of the altcoins went down sometimes went up or just stay so it's not a definite trend but most of the time altcoin do rise up also when Bitcoin rise up and it's good for the ecosystem..
I also see that it more a relationship happening on both Bitcoin and other altcoin where the development of one another is made possible by the mutual relationship. So Bitcoin killing alternative coin is not much likely to happen because they serve for one to another just like other currency which dollar serve as the universal one that makes sense on the trend on the market. And in the market most of altcoin depends its price on Bitcoin so it is much more need each other to develop and progress.

I don't see that happening ever, the idea of cryptocurrencies derived when bitcoin was created. You will never know, you might find that if bitcoin was never created, the idea of cryptocurrencies would not exist. Bitcoin will always be the superior coin, any other coin created after it will always be inferior to it. Altcoins can be good but they can never be better than bitcoin.

I agree with you, although still have altcoin potential when investing better than Bitcoin, but about the price and the stable can't compete with Bitcoin. Because investor altcoin are most speculator and they just want earning profit fast, when see a big loss they not care and sold out all balance for keep safe their money + marketcap small easy control by whales

This does not make sense, and most of the time it is the other way around, you can buy bitcoin with fiat, but can you buy other cryptos with fiat? Most of the time the answer is not, in order to buy alts you need to use bitcoin, so altcoins grow because of bitcoin and no the other way around.
