The Litecoin price reacted immediately with a sharp rise in price from $16 to $21 to surpass a market cap of $1 billion.

I'm guessing there will be other exchanges that will be following suit soon, LTC has had some really positive developments in the past couple of weeks. Litecoin had the potential and now it's paying off. Coinbase always supported litecoin directly and indirectly, so it was just an excuse for the pump. Seeing the market, more people are pouring in into litecoin and price will go up for sure. I mean, I can imagine the price rising quite a bit in the next few weeks, but how much do you guys think it will rise in the long term compared to Bitcoin, and do you think it will be more stable than Bitcoin?

Maybe wait a few days/ week and see if the price comes back down and pick up some coins? Definitely worth owning some. Possibility of a return to the ATH days of $40 to $50 in the next few years if interest stays high. Maybe they don't compete for the same market share, but they're in the same price range, which leads to a comparison. Litecoin is obviously more well-known, but I feel Monero is further ahead in its niche, namely being a private coin. Is it realistic to assume LTC will always live in BTC's shadow, while this isn't so much of a problem with Monero? Tests that can help BTC in the near future, after the SW xBU war. This is bringing media attention to it and maintaining the price to go up. Coinbase jumping on that trains is more media, as will be open bazaar adoption of LTC.
