Title: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: 1337leet on May 04, 2017, 06:10:28 PM What is going on with the price?!
It seems to explode. What do you do? Buy more in case the price continues to rise? Hold and wait for higher prices? Sell and take profits? Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: onrise on May 04, 2017, 06:18:40 PM It's has crossed 1600 plus per Btc . Not sure the rate at which it is increasing seems that at same pace it may even fall . So be cautious and sell it if you hold any Btc .

Hold and wait for higher prices? Sell and take profits? All of the above. Buy more because the price will continue to rise. Sell some at a higher price for profit. Hodl the rest for long term higher prices. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Cereberus on May 04, 2017, 06:31:21 PM It is wrong to sell now unless you are in for some short term profit and you are hoping the price to go down again (which I don't think it will). If you are not for a short time profit the best is to wait as price of bitcoin in the longer run can only go up.
Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: LFC_Bitcoin on May 04, 2017, 06:34:21 PM I'm going to HODL for a number of years still. If we crash I will buy more.

Post by: cointrader99x on May 04, 2017, 06:39:51 PM It all depends at what your goal is - if you need to buy something with BTC and are going to spend the coins right away, the price doesn't really matter too much as long as you buy it and spend it right away.
The worst time to make any investment is when there is a lot of fluctuation (up or down) as you will never "time" it right ie buy at the lowest point and sell at the highest. If you are a long term investor then what you should do is "dollar cost average" that is say you have $1000 to invest you make equal investments over time so you are catching the ups and downs, say buy $100 worth every other day. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: mining1 on May 04, 2017, 06:45:55 PM Well, the eth crazy train major news will end in about 2 months, assuming no more of them pop out. Which means the amount of people who buy BTC to get into ETH, because not every exchange accepts fiat deposits, will slow down and the btc surge will slow down too. If no major crash for the whole scene happens, by then eth will be worth over 10bil usd.
Bitcoin will also increase but not as % much. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: 7788bitcoin on May 04, 2017, 06:47:55 PM Nothing is not going to increase forever but so far there is nothing to stop the rally.
If you convert the price to in unit of mBTC, it is only $1.60/mBTC. LTC was about $4/LTC and it is now about $25/LTC... So it might go much further. If you can afford, buy is still a strong recommendation. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: chaser15 on May 04, 2017, 06:53:01 PM Buy more in case the price continues to rise? It's up to you if you can afford. No person here can tell you the exact and right thing to do. Face the risk and see what will be the result. This is an investment after all. Hold and wait for higher prices? Analyze the current situation first and then decide afterwards. It's an obvious thing to just hold based on the price movement. Sell and take profits? If you already profits and satisfied with it, then why not? But look at my statement prior to this line and consider that. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: arransiv on May 04, 2017, 06:58:42 PM At best I can say you have to hold and even buy if you can.As we are seeing the market is really on a race on who knows for how long it will continue to be.BTC is in a strong position right now and it seems like it will be for quite a while so holding seems like the best option
Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: xskl0 on May 04, 2017, 07:06:17 PM Don't sell, price will reach 2k soon. You shoud just keep buying more bitcoins
Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: xskl0 on May 04, 2017, 07:08:53 PM Nothing is not going to increase forever but so far there is nothing to stop the rally. I think Litecoin will reach 50 $ with segwit activationIf you convert the price to in unit of mBTC, it is only $1.60/mBTC. LTC was about $4/LTC and it is now about $25/LTC... So it might go much further. If you can afford, buy is still a strong recommendation. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Hobo66 on May 04, 2017, 07:09:57 PM To my calculation bitcoin is at $1658.99 I would encourage you to hold on to it,
It may increase more in the weeks to come. :) use the profit and buy profitable altcoins with high trading Vol and hold them. ;) Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: mlferro on May 04, 2017, 07:12:18 PM I also think it's not the time to sell. Moreover, if many start selling, one can expect the price to fall.
Not very related to the post, maybe this topic is better positioned in the area of speculation Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: 1337leet on May 04, 2017, 07:12:30 PM It is funny... I did ETH Mining about 1 year ago... I mined ~2 ETH/day... and sold them for like 14$ each.. I am so stupid :(
Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Nagadota on May 04, 2017, 07:18:46 PM It's very surprising how steady the price rises have been. The Coindesk BPI (http://www.coindesk.com/price/) has shown a consistent rise in the last few days.
There might well be a correction soon, but this is no pump. Buying wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Personally, I would just wait and see but I certainly wouldn't sell quite yet. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Wesimon on May 04, 2017, 07:20:52 PM What is going on with the price?! It seems to explode. It would seem that bitcoin's destination is at the top. Every single day we can see an increase on bitcoin's price. This just indicates that the demand for bitcoin is constantly increasing over time and, maybe, the number of bitcoin user is constantly increasing as well. What do you do? Well from time to time I look at my btc wallet and surprise myself in seeing bitcoin price increase. I could watch it all day ;D Buy more in case the price continues to rise? Hold and wait for higher prices? That is for persons that can afford to buy bitcoin. As we can see, bitcoin value is too high and I cannot even afford half of it. So as for now, I am trying to earn some and of course hold them and wait for it's value to increase more just like most of us are expecting. Sell and take profits? I would say that that is the main idea right? To earn/buy bitcoin and if it increases in price, sell it and take profit. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Mpamaegbu on May 14, 2017, 03:51:11 PM Don't sell, price will reach 2k soon. You shoud just keep buying more bitcoins You really can't say don't ever sell. Again, you never can know when price will drop. It can be at any time. It may even be at a time when you think price will hit the roof like now. I think buying, holding or selling should depend on the market dynamics. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Sundark on May 14, 2017, 03:58:15 PM It is funny... You are not the only one.Don't be bitter about it, if you managed to earn profit at that time it is still fine. We can hope that price of BTC after next halving will reach 4 digits. You still can buy and hold cheap bitcoin, don't make the same mistake twice. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Prohodimec on May 14, 2017, 04:09:17 PM It is funny... Those who have the opportunity, let them just keep bitcoin for several years. This is a very profitable strategy. Thanks to holding, some people have already earned a lot of money Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: PokerFace3 on May 14, 2017, 05:44:05 PM Buy more in case the price continues to rise? Buy more and hold for some big target of your own. Because I am not going to suggest some big targets like $5k or $10k but when more number of people will be doing one single thing then we can definitely reach our dream targets. If you believe into bitcoin and its future then do not sell but buy more and also recommend people to buy and hold.Hold and wait for higher prices? Sell and take profits? If you are not looking for short term benefits and you will be ready to hold even you face losses with your bitcoin investment, over time you may get unbelievable benefits just for the reason of your HODLing ! I truly believe Satoshi did for the economic world what Einstein did for the world of physics and science.
21M coins. Mining reward halving every 4 years. Community growing every day, demand increasing every day. Difficulty increasing every day, mining will become harder and more expensive every day. There is no hidden way of generating more than 21M bitcoins, there is no way of rolling back and do a restore like what we have in Windows and other OSs. You as a person need nothing but internet connection and knowing how to browse the web is the requirement of becoming a miner or a user. E=MC2 of bitcoin. If we don't buy and hold next generations and other people will definitely do so, these talks are just for penny traders hoping to earn a few extra bucks by asking and seeking successful people's opinions to minimize their risks. In a revolution there must be people asking; what is for lunch? if not a good lunch we go back to our normal lives :D If you want a good lunch I'd suggest to hold and accumulate. I agree, skills matter, knowledge, strategy all of them matters but it won't benefit you if you do not buy or trade bitcoins. Application of what we knew is always better than just theoretical knowledge. As for me, I will hold bitcoin as long as I can assuming there is no urgent need to convert it to fiat currency. Bitcoin is getting rarer each day, having more people adopting it in day to day basis. Plus the fact that bitcoin is destined to reduce its reward (this means supply from mining is ever decreasing until there is none ). This means the price will definitely increase as time goes by. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: prtty2gal2 on May 14, 2017, 08:16:46 PM Buying and holding are things I am already doing as I am very much confident that bitcoin may reach $5000 levels very soon. If it will be reaching $2000 levels within May month then why not we can expect $5000 before end of this month and holding till end of this year may not be a big deal for any trader/investor.

People are on hold(no pun intended) about the ETF SEC tomorrow, fearing that the rejection would crash the price at least for some short time. Once they see that nothing will happen they will buy again. Also the ransomware FUD is past now Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: DrGuns4Hands on May 14, 2017, 11:13:24 PM For my standpoint, just buy and hold bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Buy more as your money can afford it. The more cryptocurrency you have the more money you can earn. It's an asset. If you sold it, then you might regret it. If you hold it then buy if you have a huge amount of money, that's good. You have a right decision.
Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: shinratensei_ on May 14, 2017, 11:41:45 PM Hold. I don't think so. This time SEC can consider Bitcoin ETF with more seriously. If you already holding a large number of bitcoin you are lucky that you have bitcoin. from a cheap price and now a large price.. Buying more and having more in wallet will surely give you higher profits in future but not everyone would be in position to buy at a moment as the price is too high and it can be risky to buy at this price as if price drops in coming days then no one knows when it will rise again. This is not the same as altcoin that increase today and dump sooner.. Yes bitcoin is a long term player and will never disappear with an blink of an eye which is mostly case with majority of newly launched altcoins so if you are in position to hold your bitcoins longer then you can afford to buy them even at the current price as price will surely go higher in the end of the year. Yes, you are probably right. But now I do not really want to buy bitcoins. The price is very high. Even though I plan to keep them for a long time, I'm waiting for a drop of at least 15% to buy Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: 1Referee on May 16, 2017, 07:42:29 AM I think there is no risk in bitcoin its still profitable even you are buying in the high price because the price can be still possible to increase more just like other said the price can be increase until $2,000 value so if you buy right now you can be still make a profit every time the price is increase.. This is not the same as altcoin that increase today and dump sooner.. If you don't see any risks in investing in Bitcoin, then you're not a trader/investor yourself, or you see this as something you do just for the fun. Bitcoin does have a bright future, that's correct, but it's very dangerous to look at Bitcoin from your point of view. Don't forget that even Bitcoin is mainly being used as speculative toy by market movers. How sure are you of yourself that you won't dump your coins if the market suddenly looks like a complete mess? It's a common thing for those that don't have proper market understanding to be completely bullish today with current levels, but turn into bear mode the next day as soon as the price goes down with 10-20%... In that regard, the danger is more the self control aspect - to prevent yourself from selling in panic. Holding might seem easy, but it requires pure dedication. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: SvenBomvolen on May 16, 2017, 08:21:32 AM Now bitcoin has reached the record high, and there is no guidance to assess whether it is undervalued or overvalued, many people may think: "This train has already left". One of the options, by my opinion, looks like that: Whether bitcoin or other cryptocurrency achieve market capitalization of Visa? Or, perhaps, to displace Visa? Can this cryptocurrency to become something like a digital gold? If it could replace dollar as the world's reserve currency? If your answer is "Yes" to any of these questions - it's not late to buy bitcoin now. I believe that in couple years we will look on this price the same way like we are looking on the price of the last year when bitcoin was 200$ :)

Post by: Slark on May 16, 2017, 02:13:27 PM Don't sell any bitcoin right now. There is a high chance that bitcoin will reach $2000 soon, maybe withing next 3 months. Some positive news are lining up.
The SEC is reviewing its BTC ETF decision once again, the fact that they are willing to work with this, and not denied it right away might actually mean something serious. There is huge legal movement working to legalize and push bitcoin adoption further. Post by: rajasumi3 on May 16, 2017, 04:01:58 PM I would say that it would best for everyone to hold the bitcoins for a good amount of time as the price of bitcoins is steadily increasing and sell your bitcoins when the price of bitcoins would be more than 2500$,well then it would be the best time for bitcoins to sell it.

Agreed, it seems lately the price is always exploding so those who are steady in their belief in bitcoin will enjoy much higher rewards when the price reaches 3-4k$ or more. Keep it safe and keep on buying if you have extra money. You will see the great effect of your action through earning a lot of money when you decide to convert your BTC to fiat currency. It will take insane amounts of buying power combined with the intensity of the previous bull run to come even close to that level. After that you have to break through that mark. And after that you need all buy support available to keep the price there for even 24 hours. Things don't come easy in Bitcoin. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: carlisle1 on May 18, 2017, 05:51:10 PM What is going on with the price?! It seems to explode. What do you do? Buy more in case the price continues to rise? Hold and wait for higher prices? Sell and take profits? If it appears that bitcoin will continue to rise then I would buy more bitcoin if ever I have enough money to do it so then I'll hold it at the same time and wait for it to reach much higher price, I haven't experienced to get a profit from holding bitcoins and I don't have much amount of it so it will be great for me to experience it . Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: cryptomium on May 18, 2017, 07:55:12 PM I think hold is the best option. It is too expensive to buy bitcoin and it is too cheap to sell it since price will be increasing. But if you have spare money then buy and hold. Events and news about bitcoin adoption is everywhere. Major company of some countries are going into bitcoin. With fresh funds coming in, I believe bitcoin will continue to increase in price.

If you are one of those people who provoke a drop in the bitcoin rate, causing panic among users and then boldly buy a bit more cheap bitcoin? If this is the case, then the fall can not be avoided. Although the growth will still be.Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? I'm already straight in the morning came across a lot of information and comments on what everyone is saying then if Bitcoin will soon start to fall. For me it is very sad and I hope that all these negative predictions will not be justified, therefore I do not even know what to do to save, sell or buy bitcoin.Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Been there. Talking to myself about what if's, almost made me crazy. :D :D The truth is that will happen most of the time and you should be ready on what choices you will pick and should decide bravely without regret to whatever might happen. If you cant then just hold for now. Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell? Post by: Reid on May 19, 2017, 06:10:55 AM I prefer the buy and sell tactic or the trading business.
It is much easier when you get the hang of it. Just focus on analyzing one altcoin then try to see the volume and other stuff about it. The feafures also, will it be inviting to people that they will get hooked and invest in it. Buy alt then sell back to bitcoin. Keep doing it and you might end up getting good profits weekly. Lot users now have the fear of missing out the ATH. Based on this users just try to sell, but in reality it's good to hold the bitcoin for a longer time period. It's been predicted that depending upon the adoption as well increasing usage with respect to time the price move will happen. So surely price will continue to be on the uptrend even after fluctuations.Title: Re: Buy, hold or sell?
