Hello everyone,

I was wondering after yesterday when the price went from 1400usd to 1600usd if I should sell it now or not?

It's not much but have around 1.2 bitcoin now.

I have also heard somewhere that the price will rise further because countries are going to use it.

Here's my advice, if you really need the money then sell your btc if not then just hold it. I felt bad for selling mine I thought bitcoin's price will crash at that time but I was wrong. If this keeps up I feel like we might see the price reach $2000 soon.

Always buy more, if you are not sure now split it up to more timepoints in the future. Could be daily or twice a day.
maybe you buy them at a better price when the exchange rate falls and when it rise your previously bought btc will make it some what up.

here it the thing you need to have in mind:
- if you are trading bitcoin then yeah now is kind of a good time to start thinking about when to sell so that you can take the profit and buy back after the dip. but for that you need to first predict the dip and predict the high price to sell at not just sell and hope for the best!

- if you are not a trader and have invested in bitcoin for the long haul. then asking about selling is silly, you should always buy more each time you have money that you don't need.

- and if you are using bitcoin as a currency then all of these are moot. just enjoy the decentralized payment system and the privacy and security it offers you!

Im new in trading, but I thought I would sell my coins at $2000,- and when it drops to $1000,- or so Im buying way more than I did before.

its always going to go up though. if you can hold it, hold it. but learn how to trade and you might likely use it to earn more.
traders here use to only have few btc but trading made them earn more of it. don't miss a chance, if you can have move by doing so, then do it. you are not going to die without it.

If you can afford buy coins, else just hold your coins that you have in the wallet rather than selling. Price with bitcoin is always an uncertain one, so hold for a little time period. If lucky you'll experience further price increase getting you good profit. If the price falls too don't get panic and help the big investors profit.

don't dump now, the price just started to climb, would be stupid to do it now, probably we are heading to $2k or near that, maybe dumping at $1800 would be a good bet but these things are really unpredictable

one thing is clear to me bitcoin isn't returning back like in the good old day with high unstable pump and dump, this si a legitimate rise that will put bitcoin in the adoption era

the best strategy would be to just buy as many as possible ignoring all the price correction, and wait for the $10k in the upcoming years or probably just after the block debate is done...

I agree.People should try to hold as much as they can! Bitcoin and cryptos in general seem to see a new wave of adoption, which of course will also see some price correction at one point. But with the coming years the price will continue increasing.
4 days ago it was published that just alone in Japan, 18 new exchanges plan to open their business and more than 200k new merchants will accept Bitcoin as payment method!
I'm sure other countries will follow soon. South Korea is looking promising as well at the moment.
Therefore hold your coins and only try to sell what you have to.

Actually there is exact range for the price of bitcoin to be dump unless there will be a breaking news that may affect the price of bitcoin but for now since bitcoin is on hot zone. It is not advisable to sell bitcoin nor buy becausw the price varies every hour it is very hard to predict. Just wait for the price to become stable then decide what you will do.

Do you need FIAT so urgent? If not, then there is no reason to sell. Don't check the charts so often, it will drive you crazy.

If you believe in BTC then hold it till you have enough money to purchase your dream. I have various investments in different assets (including bitcoin) and i never sell any of them.

If one of my asset's price drops too much, i just buy more of it and strengthen it. My strategy can't lose in the long run till one of them drops to zero and that's not possible. Try it.

Not much to get this price, joke... the market is unpredictable and always good to be aware, in your case I believe that if you have 1btc you do not need, then you can hold until the price is  $2000 or more.

Here you need to decide only yourself, so you do not regret losing money. It does not make sense to go into trade or invest and rely only on other people's advice.

If you need money then you can sell some percentage of your BTC and keep the rest for future and one day sell for much bigger price then today.It's always tempting when we see that we can make a profit and sometimes is good to just take it,but my personal opinion is that is better to hold and wait for price go more up.

If you decide to not sold you need take some risk because nobody know what future brings,and if you sold you get some profit.One day you may be sorry you sold, but you maybe also make right move if you sold now.

I you don't need the money then why sell it? Just hold on your bitcoin right now. The price is constantly rising and this is not a bubble, so don't be afraid of it bursting. And if you still some extra money in your pocket then you should buy more because as what they have said, $2000 is more likely in the next couple of months.

you dont have to sell any bitcoins at all,just hold on to it and wait till the price of bitcoins reaches 2500$,well it is the best for me and i think that the price of bitcoin will be increased more till the end of this year.

In here you need to determine only on yourself. Just an advice, if you really need the money you better not sell your BTC no matter what, you must hold it. And then if your money can afford to buy BTC, always buy more. Sometimes, I thought cryptocurrency will crash but I was mistaken. You'd never feel bad or regret buying more. Well assured!  ;)

The only certainty in bitcoin's relatively short lifespan thus far is that despite pumps & dumps the price has consistently recovered & reached a new ATH.

Sure if you had a large stash sell some, take some profits but if as you say OP, you have 1.2 bitcoin's then don't sell.
HODL at least until about 2021 (a year after the next halving).

I'm pretty certain by that time your 1.2 bitcoin's will be worth significantly more than now.

i say buy more. we saw the $1600 be broken, then price came down but it didn't go way low, it is sitting at $1577 on bitstamp right now, i say that was THE correction of this rally for now. and price will rise more.
we may see some more correction next week by the end of the week, and it may even be bigger but until then there will be accumulation then rise.

For me. There is no reason to still hold once you have a valid reason or you need badly cash because even though you wait for the high but you can't use when the time of your needs then it is still useless to have a huge amount of money that has no purpose at all. Sell it if you need and hold if you just worrying for dump.

The way OP stated his case means he is not in urgent need of money.  He is asking if it is wise to buy or sell Bitcoin with the current fluctuation and I will suggest to hold and buy more.  It may crash after this spike but if you are into a long term investment with Bitcoin, the temporary crash won't concern you.  It will definitely rise again and will break its ATH again and again, until the market is saturated.

I have sold 60% bitcoin in my wallet into dollars. There is a sense of worry that bitcoin will decrease. And I will buyback bitcoin with dollar of previous sale ,.

Well if you really need the money right now just sell your bitcoin,
But if you don't just hold it and wait and see where it would get you.

It doesn't matter does it? either way you should be using bitcoin as a mean to transfer value no matter the price, price only matters for traders and people trying to earn daily profit.
Besides if you think about it we're heading upwards ever since the inception and we'll continue to go up as time passes, so IMHO if you keep what you have and buy at any given price you're going to come out victor in the long term.
I don't see miners quitting and shut down their ASIC farms any time soon, they are even adding to their mining power each day and that is an indication of increase over time, this is really not that hard to understand.

I do know is that I saw someone at a local bitcoin shop cash in a $25,000 cheque pay a 5% fee on that a few weeks ago and bought at 1800 CAD with fees now each coin is worth 2050 CAD so they are up at least 3500 on that trade.

Hard to say when the price will peak though but if your in for a ride quick money can arrive but sold one at 1500 a while back did not get it back yet the price went up more so HODL rings true hard to guess the peak.

I understand that you are in that condition of the bitcoin buy/sell where your mind says that sell it just now and second will in your mind is to hold it because price will increase more .
But here I will suggest you for the sell in the installments .
Just you should make your own Target that how much the maximum price that you would like to sell .
And then turn the bitcoin that you hold in two to three parts and sell after every increase of 100-300$ ( or according to your willing ) .
Here my opinion for the Increase in the price is that just wait for the increase in the price in the 2021 Because at that time price will be 10 times that what is currently

Not everyone can keep bitcoin for so long. Some plan to sell it in 2018-2020. It makes no sense just to keep and not to use wealth.

Someone out there is still making money off of mining bitcoins, if they weren't then no one would be mining and the price would skyrocket then too.

they trade can be done if the price really show some big downfall but for me its better to hold if you don't needed your money for emergency
because for sure the value will keep moving up and after another year another height will be achieved. bitcoin is for long time investment just like placing your money in a time deposit to benefits much bigger.

I guess when you buy it when it costs under $ 1200, I think it's a good time to sell the bitcoin you have. maybe is also very good for buying bitcoins at the moment, but I think the benefits and risks are quite high, so maybe better, hold, or sell.

indeed from the users of the bitcoin is very confident that the investment was highly profitable because current price value of bitcoin higher so I too want a lot more profits so bitcoin for us

If you have many funds to buy bitcoin, I suggest to purchase more instead of sell it which you will regret in the future obviously.
As the value keep growing over time and you could make more money from investment in bitcoin at this time.
If you think bitcoin cannot move any further, than sell a bit isn't problem. But, I believe bitcoin could reach higher price this year than just $1600usd.

But adding more must be a wise option if you ask me. When you are having chances to invest more, instead of investing into any other sector, buying more bitcoins would be the right option as per considering the future bitcoin prices. I believe bitcoin will be having rapid growth like reaching 5 digit prices in coming years.

Hence just saving what ever bitcoins you are already holding might mean like you are ignoring to multiply your chances of becoming richest if you are already rich person lol.

yes it is good to use your bitcoins for your need because people earn money to fulfill their needs, but i think those people  who have a good amount ofb  bitcoin and they are going to invest their bitcoin in other alt coin for making money for such people my advise is to hold their bitcoin and not to invest it anywhere else, because bitcoin can really give you a good profit in short period of time

In the future the price of bitcoin will increase much more so if you will buy now some more bitcoin then it will be better for you because you will invest some more money in bitcoin and you will earn some more profit when the price of bitcoin will increase more in the future.

But we all know people are into Bitcoin because of profit and not to transfer value and it is the reason(profit) why people are transfering the value of their stash to Bitcoin anyway.  So it does matter if Bitcoin go down in price or increase in price.  It does concern you too, doesn't it?


I agree there are lots of people who are getting into Bitcoin, some article even say that this price increase is not a hype at all but rather a new wave of Bitcoin price increase.  So this is the bottom of the peak of this next wave of Bitcoin adopters.  We can expect higher price and several ATH breaking news for Bitcoin in the coming days.

Depends on how strong you feel as a trader. Judging by this question not so much so the best option is hold and ignore all small price moments and corrections.
Question like these are asked by newbie bitcoin owners. They are very happy even with 20% profits because something like that is unheard of in fiat world.
I would sell all my coins only in dire need of fiat money, and I advise you do the same in 2020 BTC should be worth more than 5x of current price.

I would still sell now because the price seems artificially high. There is no way that a coin could go up by 200 USD in 1.5 days without having a bubble. And I think right now people are still sentimental about this price point, thus why the price is stabilising. But what will happen is that either bitcoin will go up even more, causing the bubble to grow even more and burst later, or burst right now.

That said i'm really conservative with my trading strategy, you may want to hold. What I would do though is sell now, buy in later when the price is lower.

If you think you can earn a profit more than your capital so go for it. Don't hesitate to make a decision on your own. It will rise then eventually it will fall. The bitcoin price is fluctuating and it changes rapidly. Don't sell your bitcoin, make a partition or I suggest sell the investment money that you use then save of your earnings or left money in your bitcoin wallet. I think this is the best way for me.  

yeah bitcoin is very much profitable and good way to make money nowadays because bitcoin value is going too much higher and a lot of people in profit.

Today the price is close to 1600$ per 1 BTC. I would not invest now in bitcoin, I think the price is so not stable that it can easy drop to 1000$ or lower in some time. And then it will be time to buy.

Many people are waiting for that time but I do not think that now the price of bitcoin will again drop down to $1000. As in countries now it is used at state level and the governments are now going to adopt this currency for their state as officially so now the price will increase to higher and will not drop to lower value.

I don't think bitcoin price will pump to $2,000 and drop as low as $1,000. Op I think price may touch $2,000 before the end of next month and as someone has advised here, except you need fiat now  I will advise you also to hold as all the technical indicators are showing positive outlook.

yes you are right the price of bitcoin will never come to lower and will increase high with the passage of time that is why is it not good to sell now and better is that OP buy more bitcoins he will be very happy with that investment because the profit in bitcoin is just waiting him.

We will see price of bitcoins touching new heights in next few months so we can afford to buy them even at current price to make good profits in quick time so if you have excess money then the best thing would be to buy more and more bitcoins and hold them till the end of the year or even till the mid of next year.

The price of bitcoins is very high right now so I don't think that everyone can afford to buy bitcoins at this high price and in fact people who have bought at lower price will prefer to sell their bitcoins now instead of holding them too long as if price goes down then they will miss an opportunity of making good profits.

Early this morning I checked Preev and I see $1,630 then after driving to my office which is about an hour and half drive BTC is priced at $1,680. I just looked at coinmarketcap now and the bitcoin price has jump up from were op was trying to sell to $1,765. My advise to op just the same advised you give here op if you have the means of getting cash from anywhere keep on buying bitcoin as the price is on the way to the moon.

Here's a little advice OP when you are undecided why not sell a part of your bitcoin and hold the others for example, selling 0.2 BTC of your 1.2 BTC and then wait for either pump or dump. That way you can debuy more when it dumps and you can sell a fraction again if it pumped hard. Do this only if you are undecided and doesn't want to regret your decision to either hold or sell.

yes i will also advice the same to buy more and more bitcoin because the prie of bitcoin is still going to increase and not going to decrease. i think those people who are going to wait for the price decrease it is just a wrong decision, because the price of bitcoin is not going  to decrease but it is going to increase continuously.

I think it might be useful if in need of money while we wait but the price decline we should sell them bitcoin little of the bitcoin save so that afterwards maybe we can use again when ascending price bitcoin is very advantageous for us

While bitcoin price is now at progressive growth over digital currency economic system, I would recommend that we should buy more of it and invest holdings for next higher price increase. I agree with you . Now bitcoin has progressive price movements and tends to be very positive.

I'm not interested to selling but I can not afford to buy bitcoin because the price is very high as it is now. Way to make my bitcoin to grow is by trading it with altcoin.

I agree. Selling now will be a regret, Bitcoin is only growing. I don't know anybody who has used Bitcoin in the past, and has ceased to do so.

Bitcoin is always rising for now its impossible that we can see huge price decrease these days.
The reason why the price is keep increasing because japan was legalized bitcoin in their country that i think more people in japan will be interested in bitcoin and more company from japan will use bitcoin. so i think the price still not yet finish it will increase more soon like you said people who are selling bitcoin will regret soon..

Yes bitcoin prices continue to rise so it is better to buy more, it will be a big profit later. Waiting for the price drops a little bit actually it does not a problem but if waiting for the price dropped to $ 400 or $ 200 it was wrong. Because I think the bitcoin price is now very impossible to get down to that price, unless bitcoin is so bad and in that case I also would buy more. So maybe I think to buy bitcoin should not wait for the price to go down, as long as the price can still go up and bitcoin keeps growing it is worth to buy. since the price at this moment is getting much higher buying a bitcoin might be some risky so probably it would be better for you to just leave your bitcoin at your wallet for a while but never stop monitoring or get outdated to the price . you can actually sell what you have right now if you think that the price will be dumped sooner but do not buy while the bitcoin is on the higher price, just an opinion .

Holding it for 1 month again seems to be giving bigger profit from bitcoin. Because speculators will push bitcoin to move close to $2000. However, selling it at this time was not a bad decision, where the price $1764 is very good.

i think bitcoin will be reach its price to $2000 1 month later because bitcoin price are to high and people invest their month and we know bitcoin price rise in this week and people get a lot of profit .

Exactly. You should buy more because the potential is really there. There's no stopping the bitcoin price surge. Japan is behind all of this and I don't think they just pop the burst they just created. They will sustained it as other big investor from different continent is buying as well. So buy and hold for long term.
