Title: How would you use Avalon Asic Chips Post by: BitshireHashaway on April 29, 2013, 02:43:28 AM I can get Avalon Asic chips at less than $15 each and they each do around 283mh/s which compared to a graphics card is pretty good for their price. However, I was wondering, assuming I were to buy 5 for example, what would I need to do in order to make them usable for bitcoin mining. For example, would I need to use them as the CPU of a motherboard or what. And could I just get a very basic $40 motherboard, hook it up, get a basic powersupply, have nothing else and use it like that? Looking forward to your replies!

There are other people on the forum (marketplace / auction section) who are buying ASICMiner chips and making their own boards. Someone from there should be able to help you.
