Title: BITCOIN TRANSFER
Post by: Siless on May 06, 2017, 08:47:27 AM
Hello everybody. I'm new to bitcoin and want to invest some of my money in it, but before I do that I want to gain as much knowledge as I can.

I'm just thinking for example I buy some BTC on kraken can I transfer it to bitstamp or coinbase for example? If yes how much will it cost me?

Go to bitcoin.org and download a bitcoin wallet which suits you. Than go to any exchange that you want to use, kraken.com for example is a good one. Deposit money and buy btc, than withdraw the bitcoin to your wallet address from the downloaded and installed wallet u got from bitcoin.org.

Ok so let's just say I bought BTC on kraken and downloaded it to my wallet. I want to sell it on cionbase. All I need to do is just sent it to my coinbase account. Sorry it might sound stupid asking about it but I'm absolutelly new to this

Yes, you can do it directly.

When you want to withdraw Bitcoin, you go onto Coinbase and check what Bitcoin address they want you to send to.  Then you set your withdrawal address on Kraken to that Coinbase address and it should go directly to your Coinbase account, assuming that Kraken is punctual with withdrawals.

So it means I don't even really need to send it to my wallet. I can do it straight from for example kraken to coinbase or bitstamp? Is there a fee I need to pay to do that?

Oh you want it on coinbase or bitstamp, then you only have to pay the withdrawal fee of the kraken.com exchange, which is a very low amount I believe. I don't think coinbase or bitstamp take fee from deposits.

of course you can move your coin from wallet A to any wallet. it's like asking if you can move your money from bank A to bank B

Yes you can transfer your bitcoin wherever you want but don't forget to check all the withdrawal limitation those exchange platforms have according to your level of verification.

I don't recommend you to use exchanges as bitcoin wallet, either use hardware wallet like trezor or simple light weight wallet like electrum to store your bitcoin.

You can transfer it where ever you like.
Cost of transfer depends on fees on kraken, if you are are sending it from your own wallet than you can pay fee as high as you want(or low)
