I got the same problem but I had my wallet words and after restoring the oldest backup file the wallet was restored, but after exiting and reentering the wallet same problem again. Is there a bug in Multibit? If you cannot find anybody, i'm willing to give it a try, altough i seriously doubt i'm trusted enough to request for the wallet file + password + seed for a wallet that holds 5 BTC... If there is a bug thats fixed in multibit, I guess you can upgrade to a new bug free version and the your old password will work. Don't delete the installation, wait for the bugfix and possibly some info on how to handle your problem. Hopefully, he'll vouch for me ;)

If you have Android or iPhone you can try installing Breadwallet and importing your seed. It is the only other wallet that I know of at this time that uses the same derivation paths as MultiBit HD (m/0'/0 and m/0'/1).
If you can't use Breadwallet... then you have to do it the long painful way... although the script should now identify the address and private key that has the unspent output(s)... ie. your coins... saving you from having to try and check them all one by one... ;) Good luck! |
