Poloniex basically killed the competition, Its the best and I wouldn't use any other exchange beside it. You don't need to verify any information's as long as you don't bypass a daily withdrawal limit of 2000$. Its mostly a BTC/Alts exchange so If you are looking for buy bitcoins using fiat, you may want to search for another exchange.

Thats cool, but I heard the best for kraken.. what makes you think like that about poloniex?

Also BTC/Alts is OK, but fees eat me here...I need to buy BTC locally at 7% fee...

I just choose exchanges based on availability of altcoins being listed there. Yes, I was enforced to sign up the new exchanges just for the reason of trading one particular altcoin. This way I have signed up more than 10 exchanges in the span of less than three years even I was not that much active with altcoin trading.

You may also follow my strategy :
- get the list of reputed exchanges and rank them as per most suggested/highly reliable.
- signup the exchanges where your preferred altcoin is being traded.
- in the case you will be having multiple choices of exchanges, go with higher ranked.

For selecting exchange for bitcoin trading, again choose the exchange based on availability of payment processor. For example I signed up CEX.io because they are accepting card payments.

For altcoin trading you do not need to verify yourself when you will be sticking with some specified limits for withdrawal on daily basis (example poloniex), maximum you may need phone verification on few exchanges (example : bittrex).

But I guess almost all bitcoin/fiat exchanges are asking documents but you can avoid them by finding your local exchangers though this forum or through localbitcoins.

Poloniex have most of the funds on cold storage means even If they get hacked, no real damage will happen. The website comes with both white and dark themes and the UI/UX is awesome, they are the #1 when It comes to trading volume which makes it even more trustworthy and support a lot of coins, moderators are always available in the Trollbox to answer your questions, and you don't have to verify your ID as I said. You can see the coins that you can trade here[1][2] for both exchanges.

So better don't go to other if you want to buy bitcoin and altcoin in bulk since sometimes other exchanges turn will required us some kyc if we deal some huge volume of btc and some other exchanger sites also are running only as scam exchanges.

The verification process in most of the trading exchanges is necessary if you want to increase your daily limits. The big daily withdrawal in a single account is suspicious that's why for security of all concern, it's a must to comply with their rules.

Most alts can be found on those altcoin exchanges that is not that much strict in terms of established volumes like Yobit, Cryptopia, Ccex etc. For advance altcoin trader, I recommend Poloniex as trading volume here is really active day by day plus the fact that no such coins listed there that only established a low volume for a certain period of time.

For bitcoin trading, try to compare the rates of most of the exchanges at bitcoinwisdom.com.

List first your preferred coins as some of it might not be present at your chosen exchanges. Yes that is happening that's why other altcoin traders do trades at multiple exchanges at the same time.

For your stated altcoins (monero, ripple, siacoin), all of them are present in Poloniex. Why Poloniex? As you can see majority here are doing trades at Polo meaning their features and services is really a thumbsup for most of the user here. In case your chosen is not present at Polo, you can try other altcoin exchanges too which is just 1 click away from the google search.

Also BTC/Alts is OK, but fees eat me here...I need to buy BTC locally at 7% fee...

That is mostly the case when buying bitcoin locally like here in my place. So anything below to the highest rate I encountered is the one that I consider to use and comparison will begin.

Atlast theres someone who do recommend yobit exchange, this is only just good if you are focusing on trading alts but If OP would tend to buy many bitcoins then I would rather go on Poloniex since its the most trustable on the top exchanger as of now and as long you don't exceed the daily limits then it should be fine but if that is your concern about the limits then you should really be willing to submit documents.

Well every exchange is focused on trading BTC/ALTcoin right?

Ofcourse you have BTC/$ / ETH/$ but the most is bitcoin -> an altcoin.

I wouldn't recommend yobit at all. They have alot of low volume coins, with no active development, and they keep them listed.

Their support has been proven to be bad. There are many cases in which it took a user several scam accusation threads and messages to get their withdraws.

This topic pretty much sums it up.

It turns out if you have to provide your documents for confirmation, does this mean that their income will be levied taxes? Or was there something I did not understand? Of course, if Bitcoin country is completely legal then the user must provide all of his documents I think so.

If you're talking about trading altcoins, then you should go for poloniex or bittrex.

They are the best & the biggest.
Actually I prefer poloniex more, Idk why I just like it more.

IF you want to buy some coins using fiat then get to localbitcoins or look for a local person here on the forum services section.

I also recommend poloniex for use as a trading and exchange, as many have recommended about poloniex. So, I think poloniex is very safe and trusted to be used as a trading or exchange.

yes poloniex is also a good exchange, where you can put your order without any doubt as it is more trusted, but still i will advise to all that there is no need to put all your bitcoin in exchange at a time as there are more chance that the whole exchanges can hack, as in previous days we have a good example of bitfinex so we need to be more careful while putting our money in exchange.

I would like to tell that Yobit is not a good exchange to join as they are listing all the coins without any fundamentals ,i would suggest bittrex as one of the best sites and everyone has their own choices, poloniex is the exchange when it comes to alt coin trading because of the massive volume you get with every coin but for the past few days they are having issues with withdrawal of coins,Just letting you know .

I tried already many exchanges, there are scam coins on their exchanges and the order and trading history is very delay and the price also is delay because its not the same in the coinmarketcap so I prefer to use poloniex exchange because it has a big difference from others and their coins is not scam.

The most famous exchanges such as Poloniex or bittrex maybe the most recommended, but the best is an exchange based on your country so that you can easily deposit and buy bitcoin or altcoins. After that, you can check various trading market to check and trade those coins, Liqui is one exchange to check many altcoins and good site so far.

You have what you are looking for in poloniex, it's the best exchange site at the moment as for me because personally I have plenty of stocks in alts stored at that exchange, it's good to be confident when you feel your account is secured, never trust small trading sites especially if you are buying big volume of altcoins.

Poloniex is the most famous exchanger and a lot of people do their trade in their site, if the alt coins that you want to buy is the in the top or famous coin then Poloniex is enough but if you want to buy the coin is less famous the I suggest Yobit, but remember to not put too much money in the exchanger

I think reputation wise, most people trust Poloniex and I also feel its the best one out there, Bittrex is also good as it has many coins that are not listed on Poloniex yet, so if you are looking specifically into those coins, only then you should go for bittrex, other than that, Polo serves well for all.
But you won't be able to buy BTC with fiat there, for that I'd suggest you use localbitcoins.

Gotta say that any exchange that doesn't require verification nor uses it as an excuse to freeze accounts will win my membership any day. So of course Poloniex seems to be the obvious choice for most if only for this one very important requirement, or lack of, rather.

I have seen a few more creeping up but they're not as good for volume but I would mention Liqui at least for to get in on action for coins not yet launched.

C-cex is now an popular as of now and not such a good exchange site as of now because they just have some few traders in their site. I can suggest that you should pick a nice and friendly Exchanges like Polonoex the #1 altcoin trading that have such big volumes  also try Bittrex it's nice and frinedly for me their exchanges. If you don't wish to send your ID poloniex is for you, there you can find riple, and some other good altcoins. I'm active on yobit, there you don't have riple but you don't need id too. Monero you can buy on both of this exchanges, do your own research and choose from this two, both are good, buy poloniex have better reputation, yobit is a bit slow. I hope I helped you. Bittrex is the best exchange to became our main exchanger site and the other would be our alternatives if we want to do an arbitrage tradings and the other site who catches my attention right now is liqui.io since frequently they are more selective and added those big potential ICO's on their exchange so theirs no dount that they will became an big exchanges someday.

Stop recommending poloniex over and over, it's dangerous to have one big exchanging service everyone relying on and have their coins there, they can be tempted as well to run with your coins. diversification is needed in this area of crypto, C-cex and Cryptopia along with Shapeshift should be considered as a good choice as well.
Please don't let exchanges become totally centralized.

Why would anyone seeks to buy Ripple, isn't that for banks to settle their transfers? or are they fooling people to sell their tokens this way?
Since when banks participate and help to prepare their funeral?

I do not think.that it is right that an exchange I'll run away only if the crowd will be with them as if almost all of the traders will use their service then they will earn a large profit from their exchange and then they will not need people's money to escape away with themselves.

I join bitcoin.co.id as local exchange and trade altcoin, maybe you are not familiar with this name. For me, this exchange can help my work and support team make me comfortable. Unfortunately, they don't use currency for trade just use bitcoin and altcoin, but for me is enough. Fee is relative but how fast they can solve my problem is what am I looking for. Easy platform to understand and about price range altcoin not too far with other exchange. Search on google and try it. Have a nice day.

i used Poloniex exchange in the past its very good and trusting exchange but now i am using localbitcoins exchange to sell or buy bitcoins and i can withdrawal my bitcoin in any place and localbitcoins make our life easy and fast.

Also Bittrex is a second famous exchange in the internet with good support and stable altcoins in there. While your favorite coins not listed on Poloniex you can try using Bittrex to check your favorite coins.

You can use poloniex and also bittrex because they are one of the most reputable sites out there and a lot of traders use it for trading cryptocurrencies and the cryptocurrencies there are all legit because they have a strict standards before they add some coins mostly in poloniex but poloniex is experiencing some lag so i think it is better to just trade to bittrex as of now.

if you only altcoin trading not need verified ID
bittrex not verified ID can withdraw 1 bitcoin/day, only write name , addres and verified phone number
poloniex only write name in level one, write addres in level 2 can withdraw 7k dollar/day

recomended poloniex and bittrex because volume transaction is high

For me go for the trading site that is pretty famous and the volume of every coin is large like poloniex and bittrex with that trading site your trading became more profitable because the volume of the coin there is large, And another is the coin that is listed in that site is just a legit coin which is not easily dumping into 1 sats each.

Right now the most popular IMHO is Poloniex, I do my trade on the site but I do not just rely on that site alone as lately there is a continues DDOS attack and sometimes I cannot buy and sell since it is very lag. I have my alternative site which is bittrex also and they almost have the coins listed in Polo as well so I can still do my trade. I just make two trading account in different site to diversify the risk, when one will be hack I can still go on.

Opinions in this regard are biased, first of all poloniex is under government's influence and nothing is stopping them if they ever decide to gox traders and get away with at least a billion dollars.
They have too much lag and if they are constantly DDOSed then why not upgrade their servers, it's not like Bitcoin that needs block size increase and miners refuse to do it no they are free to upgrade.
Yobit is the mother of all the lag, so forget them but Kraken and Cex.io are much better than others.

Something worth mentioning, why Stellar is not listed on Cryptopia and Yobit? at least Yobit if was good for one thing that they were listing what ever came out just not Stellar and Ripple.
I smell something fishy here.

I trade in Poloniex as well as Bittrex and both are the leading exchanges to join with lots of altcoins and less fees.
Lately, I have started trading in CRBIT too in Livecoin and the price fluctuation is good, have earned some bucks there.

Trading site are the best to trade with are.

1.Bittrex
2.Poloniex.
3. C-cex
4. Liqui
5. Cryptopia

Those exchange i named are the best and i Marked bittrex as number one since they are focusing on security and for this matter we can assure that our money in their will be safe but I don't recommend it to become an alternative wallet to be used better treat it as exchange only since anything might be happen aswell so better be safety than never. And those top 2-5 are good on arbitrage tradings.

If you are new to the platform just make a try with Yobit. This has got good reputation as well has various listing of coins which can never be seen in other exchange services. Also this has got the best UI that anyone can understand without much difficulty.

If many, I recommend at least if like you said, for many bitcoins, at least 2 exchanges, for safety, first, and if one exchange is overloaded to much, you can allways use other one.

yeah right this 5 exchange can be enough to start with, polo and trex have a large of numbers of traders which using their platform
as of now polo have some issue but they are really working on it, c-cex and cryptopia for those new coins i haven't had a chance to
specify Liqui as i use nova and yobit but i'm not personally recommending them.

What if someone steals your BTC or any scammer can steal your BTC in such a way when there is no verification required. I will never vote for the one who don’t ask for any confirmation. The confirmation means that they are doing something good for you to make it secure and if someone gets panic with it, it will be totally an immature act.

My opinion on this, I divide my bitcoin to 3 trading sites. Planning to look for more. The reason is what ever happened on my account, for example if polo got hacked and my account is compromise, I still have bitcoin from other trading site. Currently using Poloniex, Bittrex and C-Cex.com
Yes this is a very good strategy to divide all you coins into many accounts instead of keeping all in the same because the online stuff is never 100% safe from the hackers. Your coins are all the time at a risk but only a wise businessman will do it to keep them separate so, to minimize the level of the risk.

Then what I'm dealing with Bitcoin is constantly in a risk situation. The slightest oversight or inattention can lead to the loss of personal coins. In general, the task is as users still rely on the universal-use bitcoin.

But I do see it is as a level of stupidity if people are still trying to keep their bitcoins in exchange. Because they are failing to learn lessons from previous incident in which exchanges lost thousands of bitcoins in hacking. Having account in multiple exchanges is a good idea but it should be for  the purpose of keeping some balances in different accounts.

My suggestion would be going with highly reputed exchange like poloniex. Other than that, choose your exchange based on availability of listing of your preferred altcoin.

yes that will be right. to me as i have two online wallets, one is for the purpose to sue for trading alt coins or to hold bitcoin in, and the second is which i mostly use for shopping online stuff. in fact it make more easy to arrange my wallet in a right way and secondly it also give me some protection against the hacker having multi accounts.

That is a good practice for you that you have multiple wallets because you can diversify your bitcoin very well and it will be easy for you to organize your money or bitcoin because you already assigned the wallets for what are their used specifically. For me, i use paper wallet and also online wallet to have hot wallet and cold storage at the same time.

I have to go with Poloniex at this. For me it's one of the safest though the alt coins are not as many as those in yobit but at least I'm sure that these are legitimate altcoins that I'm dealing with. I also like how fast their withdrawal time is. I've tried 3 basically. I started with yobit and got victimized with scam coins like Ponzi then I moved to cryptopia before I settled with Polo

Currently, I recommend you to use bittrex or Poloniex to buy altcoins which are you looking for. However, if you want to buy bitcoin of course you will buy it throguh fiat money, you don't need to give your ID but you need to send if if you are about to sell your btc for fiat money to make things transaparent and legal.

Here I will suggest you to use every possible exchange because exchange to exchange sometimes the aptcoims have different price , and also you can't find every altcoin at the single exchange .
Here about one month ago poloniex delisted altcoins 17 without a big reason , so due to elemination you can't found every coin .
For example Sia coin is available at polo and bitrex  but not at every exchange .
But still you can found Sia , ripple , monero at the poloniex exchange .
But here I I'll suggest to resister your account in poloniex , bitrex , yobit , cryptopia  ,livecoin ,c-cex etc .

Here I will suggest for you to make or resister your account at three exchange (1) btc-e  (2) bitrex  and (3) poloniex .
If you will make your account at these exchange then I am 100% sure that you will not get loss much in the trading and hopefully the best best altcoins you will get at such exchange . At such types of the exchange you will surely find ripple Montero easily .
But I will suggest you for the 2fa activation because these are safe but still we should remain careful for any type of risk in future .
If you will do trading at other exchange then I don't think that you will be able to make big earning because the speed of trading usually very low at low valued exchange like  nova , cryptopia , livecoin , yobit etc .at these exchange you will found mostly dead altcoins .

You have what you are looking for in poloniex, it's the best exchange site at the moment as for me because personally I have plenty of stocks in alts stored at that exchange, it's good to be confident when you feel your account is secured, never trust small trading sites especially if you are buying big volume of altcoins.

Same here, I have my alts in Polo too and so far so good. Though there were some issue with ddos but I think polo is trying it's best to resolve that one. They actually shutdown the trollbox so that the moderators can focus on assisting the support.

Yeah and i think its good that the trollbox was removed even for just a whole. I lost a lot of btcs when i was starting in polo by looking at the trollbox suggestions. Better to make your own research to influence your decision instead of relying on those trollboxes for tips.
