Title: Abuse Detected
Post by: nahtnam on May 08, 2017, 04:11:31 PM
Hey,

I am trying to log into the beta forum, but it tells me to reset my password. When I do that, I get an alert saying abuse detected.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks.

I receive this error:  "Account Migration Not Complete, Please Reset Password"

Some simple logic here, how would resetting your password help here? In this case, my account has not been migrated, but changing my password would migrate it? I think there are still issues that need to be fixed in a different way, not by resetting your password. I'm sure theymos or other developers will get to it soon enough.

I think they changed the hashing algorithm, so resetting your password would update the database with the new hash.

Passwords aren't carried over to the Beta for obvious security reasons, all other profile info is. The issue is fixed, the beta just needs a more recent deployment.

Any idea when it will be updated? I wanna give it a shot since it actually looks pretty nice.

AFAIK, servers are being changed at the moment. So it shouldn't take long. Probably the hardest part of this project is finding a way to properly migrate all of the data on Bitcointalk. This caused severe delays.

Any update about this issue? I'm still having the "abuse detected" error when I try to reset my password.

Even now the issue is not fixed. I tried bitcointalk beta months ago when it first launched, but recently I am unable to login again so whenever I try to reset password a popup regarding "Abuse Detected" is shown, though it's my first time today to reset the password.
I wonder if anybody's able to login there or everyone stuck at this false error message

in General I have the same problem ( Error: Abuse Detected. You have been banned from performing this action. Please contact an administrator), as I understand it no one even really knows what to do with that?

Is the forum migrating? If so, it will be necessary to send mail to all members. If not for this thread I may not be aware. Good also that feedback are coming now before a massive migration.
