Title: Monero and first rig - newbie questions
Post by: Alek_847 on May 10, 2017, 05:13:00 PM
Hello guys. I would like to invest on some new hardware to mine monero.
I read lot of about minig, now i am mining via CPU with current speed 2000Hs
I want to start with GPU mining. So what can you recommand me? I can spend about + - 1000 dolars for HW.
Here is me tip:

GPU: 3x RX 580
MB: MSI Z170A PRO CARBON
CPU: INTEL PENTIUM G4400 SKYLAKE
HDD: SAMSUNG 120 GB SSD
RAM: 4GB CORSAIR
PSU ???

Will be minergate pool fine with Claymore ?? Can you guess what the profit will be without electricity pay? I will calculate the cost of electricity myself.
Anyway, sorry for stupid question but everyone starts somewhere. :)

Its close to RX480 infact just add 2-3% to your monero calculation.

So daily profit can be about 5.33 - 6.00 $ That is not too much.
Can someone recommend me better hardware ? Also, i dont know which PSU buy

Mine a different coin that is more profitable, then convert to Monero.

People have (and still) are placing CPU miners on tons of computers in the background of unsuspecting victims and a lot of hash power is going to mining Monero. With the increased hashrate, profits for GPU miners are very small.
Also, the Monero GUI wallet allows mining so now there is all these extra people mining with CPU's. This really puts GPU miners off from mining Monero.

In your critics, you are right
But,
The power created by the processors in the face of total difficulty is funny.
Intel i7 6700 (quad core) hasrate: 200 H / s
In contrast, an ordinary GPU RIG is 2.4 mH / s power.
In this calculation, I do not count botnets.

So, the best way for GPU rig si ETH. There is biggest profit about 8 - 9 $ per day.
Thank you everyone for new informations

only for amd, nvidia have other better coin to mine, with amd mining only ETH is not that good, you need to dual mine with siacoin or pascal, maybe better sia coin, because sia now increase a lot in value and there is more profit
