What should I do to stop being a noob ??

How long have you been logged in for, mister noob?

It's really just a matter of weeding out all those pesky bots. Give yourself some time, make some posts in "Newbies" and you'll graduate in no time.

People like you with logic, understanding and patience seem to find the whole process much smoother and quicker.

I, for one, am glad bitcointalk has this multi-level approach to approved forum users. It keeps all the spam bots from clogging the forums. :)  I've been 'lurking' for about a month, and just now am starting to think about participating in some discussions. I think everyone should read threads from a forum they want to join for at least a few hours before spouting off a quick forum post or reply. 

I want to stop being a noob, but it seems like ti is forever.

According to your profile you have 7 minutes to go - add a little more time for the DB to adjust, and hey presto ;D

Go browse some other topics, grab a bite to eat, enjoy some sunshine/rain/moonshine - whatever you have available. ;)

In short, don't limit yourself to just browsing the Newbies forum. Keep learnin' for the next few hours.

Once the time is over, can i post in any topic or there are more restrictions?

sergeyrar, my advice for what it's worth, is to start not being a newbie by being productive. Selling things isn't as productive as buying, and buying it's as productive as creating, and creating isn't as productive as creating something original of high-quality. The same rules outside bitcoin work inside bitcoin. Spammers get ignored and banned, scammers get ostracized, and people who sell domains no one wants get made fun of.

When you're out of newbie jail, jump into the technical and political discussion subforums and see what the "non-newbies" are up to. You'll catch up in no time.

You can teach someone how to lose the Newbie forum status, but it's hard to teach someone to stop being a NOOB ;D

It's over the top to require 5 hours logged in, when the time doesn't seem to increase from reading. I've been on this site for several days and it's only showing 2 hours and 15 minutes. It doesn't take hours to do 5 posts.

I guess I'm a lurker noob. Ir says Ive been logged 6 hours and 45 minutes.

I feel like I'm in a time warp and noob time passes more slowly. I posted in another thread over an hour ago, came back to it half an hour later and the time increased only a couple of minutes.

Same thing happened to me. I just refreshed the page and I was set.

If I only were not a noob... (the 4 hrs is fine, but the clock stops after just a minute or two is what hurts)

Very funny, but I'm finally out of newburgatory now, so I will laugh.

I'm getting tired of being a noob also. I've had romantic encounters that took less time than graduating out of noobdom.

Is there something special about the time logged in counter that I don't know about?  I had been logged in and reading for over three hours, yet when I came back the next day I noticed that the total time the board showed me logged in was only 43 minutes!

And yes, I had actually been reading.  The thread I was reading was over 25 pages long . . . the one on Cyprus where the bank took over 700k+ euros from Zeroday's account.  Sad and frustrating story!

But I love the happy ending that Bitcoin saved him...

So, frustrating -
I lurk here for a while, I find a pool, I join it, pool shuts down, only way to get access to my coins is to PM the owner through this... and apparently I can't do that without some BS "community" activity?

What exactly is the newbie policy supposed to protect against?

Well, if you use Opera you can right-click and find that option on the menu...

Quite sad PMs didn't work when I read that, though.  I had some interesting to send him that will likely have to wait until it no longer matters on his situation.  With 700,000 euros on the line it's really sad...
