Title: nvidia volta Post by: mrada1204 on May 10, 2017, 09:04:30 PM big news everyone ,
nvidia volta appeared (performance seems 4x gtx 1060 in one single card ) http://www.pcworld.com/article/3196026/components-graphics/nvidias-monstrous-volta-gpu-appears-packed-with-21-billion-transistors-and-5120-cores.html http://wccftech.com/nvidia-volta-gv100-gpu-tesla-v100-architecture-specifications-deep-dive/ https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/data-center/volta-gpu-architecture/?ncid=van-volta-gpu-architecture maybe we`ll see on christmas the new series cards ;D Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: anatolikostis on May 10, 2017, 09:24:44 PM +5100 cores, fuck yeah :D
Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: mrada1204 on May 10, 2017, 09:34:45 PM any thoughts about building mining rigs nvlink vs pci-e cards ??
i`m curious how it will work ... btw ... it seems to be very big improvement by nvidia on new cards 8) Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: YIz on May 10, 2017, 10:06:55 PM any thoughts about building mining rigs nvlink vs pci-e cards ?? i`m curious how it will work ... btw ... it seems to be very big improvement by nvidia on new cards 8) You know how much NVLink cards are? way, way more than consumer ones. those are Tesla cards, not intended for consumers. Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: CjMapope on May 10, 2017, 10:09:48 PM Volta will drop just after Vega to make sure AMD does not have a huge gain this year is my guess :)
I saw an article that said they are pushing it ahead, "Q3 2017" :) I will like vega for the cheap cards, hoping 300$ish, but VOLTA is gonna CHANGE MINING IMO Cant WAIT, might start trying to test business connections to try get some asap when they drop :D Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: JaredKaragen on May 10, 2017, 11:23:12 PM Volta is gonna kill the GPU mining scene.... this is intense. I know what upgrade I am gonna save for =)
Hopefully they are smart with this GPU and are gonna leave the 1080Ti in its hotspot for a while.... since its gonna handle most gamers happy for a long while. The price is what concerns me... Then again; the drop on all the pascal card prices will be interesting as well; the fight will be between hashrate density and rig count. I wonder how much more efficient they are getting at that point; W/Mh percentage..... like 20%? or more realistically 5-10%? Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: olencore on May 11, 2017, 02:39:02 AM Vega Fp16 vs Volta Tensor
Does any of this had any impact in mining ? prediction ? Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: dbc23 on May 11, 2017, 05:19:06 AM To clarify, this "card" is speced for AI and deep learning development. It's going to be I N S A N E L Y expensive. This is NOT a consumer grade product, yet. Volta will be the basis of the next gen Nvidia cards, but the specs on this thing aren't what we'll see in desktop GPUs for some time.

It is not for us mining. Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: Oakey22 on May 11, 2017, 06:52:03 AM Its going to be pricey thats for sure, not aimed at miners either
Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: JaredKaragen on May 11, 2017, 08:28:25 AM deep learning computing is basically the same at mining; only the deep learning the algorithms change.
Their features are prime for mining if you ask me. Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: mrada1204 on May 11, 2017, 09:19:38 AM same was with pascal ... appeared the p100 and a few months later the 1000 series shown , gtx 1070 performance ~ gtx 980ti ,
gtx 2070 hope will be ~ gtx 1080ti :P Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: Pennywis3 on May 11, 2017, 09:22:30 AM 8x Volta mining rig
parts are on the way Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: mrada1204 on May 11, 2017, 09:25:12 AM 8x Volta mining rig parts are on the way i think i`ll keep my 14 gtx 1070 another 6 months ;D Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: Eyedol-X on May 11, 2017, 11:30:05 AM The Volta card unveiled is the GPU Compute card as other Tesla's have been.
This is what the 2080 and 2080ti will be eventually based upon, just wait another year for that if you're interested in it. if you're interested in profits now, I suggest you pick up some 1070s and get to making some $$$ Now as a Gamer, I can't wait for the 2080 series, especially on the mobile side. 4k Ultra @ 60+fps on a laptop on basically every game anyone? Yeah that's coming. Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: philipma1957 on May 11, 2017, 12:04:59 PM Next spring and a big boost.
This is really good for zec mining. Here is my logic https://coinmarketcap.com/ Rank---Coin------Total Cap----------Coin Price------Coins Mined-------- Daily Volume 17.......Zcash.....$124,925,489......$97.78............1,277,606............ $7,113,760 nvidia is the clear winner at mining this coin The cap is low compared to Nvidia's $52,000,000,000 plus cap. They can easily prop Zec's price to ensure cards sales. Basically a rebate or commercial for their cards. And they can actually make money trading the coin. So it is potentially cheaper and more effective then any rebate or commercial. http://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart 80mh is 120,000 1080 ti's or 84,000,000 in sales we know the network is a mix of many different cards, but the gear growth potential is huge. Yeah that's coming. good choice to buy now the 1070 but the 1070 should be 10% faster, it's maybe better to wait if you have already a farm, waiting for volta instead it's stupid there is too much time to wait and profit to lose Next spring and a big boost. Tesla isn't something new, the Pascal version of Tesla is already out right now and it can be yours for $4,995.00 http://www.compeve.com/gpu/nvidia-tesla-p100-pascal-gp100-gpu-16gb-sxm2-900-2h403-0000-000m?gclid=CPWUjO_p59MCFRm2wAodIUwL0w&zenid=e8599c3fd1eeece81b73d97bc0b8bde9 What's big about this volta annoucement is that in 8-12 months we will see the 2080 series of cards based upon this design. Oh and the Volta version of the Tesla will be about the same price as the Pascal version when it hits the market. I see that diff could 2x and price could stay at 100 usd with zec and the coin would still make money for miners. It has been an amazing run for Gpu mining more then 15 straight months of good coins for Gpus and when you look at watts the alts have beaten BTC for more then 1 year in a row. @ Eyedol-x yeah it looks like a lot of growth with the 2080 ti's next year. I don't think we will see consumer-level Volta cards until early to mid 2018. The 1080ti was only released a few months ago. I don't think the Vega will match the 1080ti's performance gaming-wise (though mining will be a different story). AMD won't be ready to release a brand new architecture next year. Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: toptek on May 30, 2017, 05:41:01 PM For a new and used NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPU computing processor - Tesla P100 - 16 GB on amazon.com wow .. i know only high end business need or can afford it but that has to be bad ass for mining and way beyond my price range .
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B06WV7HFWV/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all $13,931.68 Used $ 15,003.34 New and you won't get it till July even the used one ...I'm guessing that because they release the end of June and the used ones are what they are using to test with now ? . That's about 3 or 4 k sol or higher per card .... instead of what 20 cards to get the same results depending what card you base the speeds off of .. nice but very costly .. Title: Re: nvidia volta Post by: VyprBTC on May 30, 2017, 06:07:05 PM So if it's = to 20 cards, is anyone using Teslas to mine?
