Hello,

If I buy online a Hardware wallet to store BTC, and then put some BTC that I own on it, will it be possible to anybody know that the wallet address of this wallet is mine.

This is assuming the BTC provenance is not in anyway connected to myself.

In theory, this is possible as the seller might be able to somehow track the selling record to the device related information. However, I don't think this is the case.

Why not you start learning how to make a paper wallet yourself? If you do that correctly, the address can be anonymous...

Technically speaking if the seller had access to the hardware beforehand and they were able to see the wallets they made then they would be able to record the addresses (and then link them to you) if they wanted to, however it is not likely they'll do something like that, but you never know for a fact.

If you print your own wallet then there is no real way to link anything and you should be gucci.

There are also other things you have to consider. For example, the ways you make transaction in and out of the wallet may also expose your identity, ie. the addresses linked to the wallet you have created. Also, whenever you check the balance (using blockchain.info??), you IP addresses might also give out traceable information.

Not unless they have some sophisticated software that analyzes the blockchain, and the bitcoin you own was bought at an exchange where you had to prove your identity. If you for example bought bitcoin with cash and sent to an address on your hardware wallet there would be no way to know that address was yours. The addresses generated by a hardware wallet are not linked to your identity.

Use http://bitaddress.org (http://bitaddress.org), maybe not one of best but not one or worst, you can download the site from GitHub and use it on disconnected computer. Remember to fold paper wallet in 3 parts and to store privkey inside paper wallet and store them in waterproof bag. To store, just use Paper Wallet function of Mycelium or sweep key on Blockchain.info.

If you buy directly of the official website, then you won't have any problems. It is when you start buying from third parties that issues may arise. I bought a ledger wallet off the official site and I have had no problems for over a year now.
