Title: A BFL ASIC 1000 BTC bet that looks like Inaba lost
Post by: smoothie on April 30, 2013, 11:02:20 AM

He gave runeks 500:1 odds that they would meet their initial power specs in their first line of ASIC products. (which they did not meet)

So on top of the 1000BTC charity donation looks like Inaba owes runeks 1000BTC on this bet too.

 :D

Okay well it isn't OFFICIAL yet until someone does a 24 hour test on the power usage.

He ain't paying nothing. It's all talk.

He accepted, otherwise he will get a SCAMMER tag.  ;D ;D ;D

I don't see how this makes the bet null and void.

Runeks:

I'm writing here to publicly restate my commitment to this bet. Since it's been a while, I think it seems like a good idea for both parties to restate their commitment to the wager publicly. I have invited Inaba to do the same via PM.

Sure, I re-affirm it.  Our devices would literally melt if they came in at 114w or more.

Thanks for reminding me... I think I have another bet for a more substantial amount with someone but bugger all if I remember who.  I guess I will have to dig back in my posts.

Fat chance he is going to pay 1000BTC ($145,000) for this bet, hell I doubt he would have paid even if the price was still $15 and not $145!

Thanks Josh for confirming that.

But how can you still intend to put the Little Single in it's original casing?
(at your current power "efficiency" a 25GH/s unit needs 145 Watt)

This is where he either pays up or his reputation is tarnished even more.

Once a scammer always a scammer. We'll see how this plays out. Shouldn't take long for someone to run the OFFICIAL power test and put this bet to rest and see what Josh chooses to do, pay up or become labeled a scammer.  :D

This thread is indeed hilarious. Josh is such a fail. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79637.msg1285865#msg1285865

Quote from: Inaba
That's an easy question to answer, Tom.  Because you are lying to your customers.  More specifically, you lied about BFL's power and I called you out.  You are also lying about being "competitive*"  If you had not lied, I wouldn't be here... but there you have it.

I guess in 3-4 month we'll laugh about lots of other statements from Josh. Like his "we will ship 400 units/day".

You do realize that this has nothing to do with this bet here? This one here is between Inaba and runeks and has nothing to do with the charity donation that you've mentioned.

I would guess that IF he pays, the coin will actually come from BFL.

FTFY. But I would presume it should come from his own stash. But then again as long as the bet is paid in full is what matters.  ;)

That heatsink is from a sapphire 7970 toxic 6gb which uses upwards of 340watts.

Here is a gtx 460 heatsink that is made to dissipate ~150watts. Also remember that a gpu is being heated by surrounding computer components whereas a bfl asic is only cooling itself.

Maybe Josh made this bet because he didn't expect BFL to ship a working unit, so the power consumption would be 0W.

BFL pays quite a bit in advertising on this forum. There's no chance of the mods tagging Inaba with a scammer tag.

This shouldn't be a license to scam though. If Inaba doesn't pay and Theymos and the mods do not give him a scammer tag (like they did MNW) then we have a HUGE ass problem of conflict of interest with the people who run this forum.

I hope they do not look the other way should Inaba not pay up to Runeks.

I hope you’re not implying that the people that own/run this forum ever act in their own self interest! Poppycock!

We all know what Inaba is and that will never change but another part of what he is happens to be a major player in Bitcoinland with his own 2000 GH/s pool. Many things can be forgiven if you have any potential to further the cause. Of course, the ultimate cause is profit. LOL

Forgiving scammers and turning the other cheek only promotes more scams.

I've always had more ignores than bitlane. Remember the top ignored list? I was like at the top. Still am I'm sure.

I dont troll btc-e anymore because you have limits on how often you can post. Most of the time they just ban me because my trolling actually moves the price haha

I would guess that IF he pays, the coin will actually come from BFL.

And by "from BFL", you are really saying "everyone that frll for BFL's lies and bought an ASIC" hahahahaha.

Don't think BFL is sitting there with all the Bitcoins everyone paid with.  The coins went to BitPay, which, apparently, paid BFL in USD.  So the $5 -> $200 increase in price did not equal BFL getting rich.

What it does mean though, is that BFL can simply delay the shipment of all our units, mine the bitcoins required for said bet, and then ship them when they've made enough money.  They have the tools.  We all paid for their development, but yet we don't have anything to show for it.

Look at just how confident they were back then, and they still Horribly failed, nowadays they're all shookup and won't offer any concrete specifications
always that stupid +/-20% performance

Anyone thinking of ordering from BFL needs to first realise how crooked they are
