Title: Help Plz? Blockchain Error???
Post by: alek.morella on May 14, 2017, 04:22:01 AM
So I have sent btc about a week ago. Because of major delays it got returned eventually. I sent the btc to my market account, this time with a higher fee and it went thru  :D
HOWEVER I log in today to see that the returned btc from the first transaction was sent AGAIN
AND this time to the same adress, but my market account has a changing btc adress and now I have btc heading to god knows whos wallet  >:(
I never authorized the sending of the transaction the second time  >:(
What is going on?
P.S I use blockchain wallet
Im so mad it would send my btc without MY authorization or even me knowing  :(

What is the address or addresses associated with the movement?

You said that you sent the bitcoin again, then came back to see the same returned Bitcoins sent again to another address, like a double spend ???

Sometimes a transaction is removed from blockchain's database but they eventually get confirmed and back to their database.

hello dont worry, you will get your bitcoins to your market account without any issues, your market account will give you different address which are belonging to same same, so whatever new address generated by  your market account all are belonging to same seed.

Thats good to hear. I just read a little more, and as long as the last btc adress for the market was used within 7days ago, I should still receive my btc.
Yet its still mind blowing to me that Blockchain can send more then 1.2 BTC without my persmission to do so. What if it was a payment for something,  I would probably be out of 2k for sure. I might switch to Electrum or a hardware wallet.

Wait a sec I didn't understand what you are saying.

So you sent at first a TX with really low fees that eventually got returned to your wallet. After that you successfully sent a 2nd TX with sufficiently high fees that went through. Now your Blockchain wallet re-sent the previous TX to the same old address. And now you have 2 x 1.2 BTC instead of 1.2 BTC?

Yes. Correct. However the problem was that my wallet adress changes every 21 days. And it just happens to have changed this week. So the automated resend(not authorized by me) was sent to the adress that no longer belongs to my market account. I havevread that as long as it has belonged to me within the last 7 days, which it has, I should still get my coin. Its allot of coin, 1.2 exact.
Can't believe blockchain resends MY coin without MY permission, its absurd.

Stop using that crappy wallet first if you don't want to get more problem.
The bitcoin which was sent to your previous market address I'm pretty sure that it's also part of the market's wallet that you can simply contact that thing you called "market" by giving the proof of transaction, otherwise they'll not know. It should work but it's all depends on them to decide so.

Is that a feature in blockchain wallet to resend transactions? or it's just a bug?
It seems to me like it's some short of invasion of privacy and not having control in your own money
you should change to a new wallet provider or hardware wallet.
