Title: too many incorrect shares on ETH
Post by: stef_stef on May 15, 2017, 04:02:46 PM
Hey guys,

I am running 5 rx480 nitro+ 4gb cards on a h81 pro btc board. What I am concerned about is the amount of incorrect shares I get. Within 24hrs I had more than 250 split between 3 cards.

They are running modded bios with 1625 straps copy, at 1850 mem and 1050 core clocks, at -90mV and +20 power limit. The has rate hat I am getting is 27.5 MH/s per card. Power consumption off the wall is 670W.
I did reduce the difficulty on some of the cards to 6. That kept the same has rate but lowered the number of incorrect shares a bit. If I keep it mining for more than a few days, the effective hashrate drops significantly, and I am forced to restart the rig, so it gets back on track.

My question is, should I be worried about the number of incorrect shares? How much is too much, and can I do anything to increase the effectiveness of my rig?

Thanks

Incorrect shares usually happen because unstable overclock. I think you should try modify GPU setting and test it again.

Anyone to recommend some stable settings?

I am running a pretty low clock both on the core and memory...

bad mem straps can make this happen too

What are some normal number of bad shares to be expected? Ideally i know it would be 0, but there will always be some

Wrong, I'll run mine for a week without crashing and will have 0 invalid shares, only thing expected would be some stale shares. Invalid (bad) shares means that there's a problem.

That is encouraging for me.... Can you please share you settings if you are running a 480?

Thanks

Check windows parameters , i remember my first mining rig i have too many unstable hashrate due to sleep time and windows maintenance and action center , i remember that windows maintenance uninstalled my gpu drivers while mining.
