Title: The Bitcoin Card - discussion

This is for discussion of this announcement, because that thread has been locked:

My first question is: I looked up your company number 07370933 in the UK:

http://companycheck.co.uk/company/07370933

you are behind on your business filing (overdue as of 2012-09-06), and the company name is different: "Pages Jaunes Pro Ltd".

Care to explain?

You have to sign up with all your personal data, before you can read the terms & conditions (lol?).
The owner of the domain lives in France but the company is located in the UK (Baker Street, sure xD).

And by the way, here's another website of this guy: http://thebitcoinclub.co.uk/

yes and yes

Who knows...I'm very interested in your service. But your website doesn't look very professional so far and I don't know you. I'd love to buy one of these cards but I'll wait until there are some happy customers ;)

The site owner just wrote me. Seems to be a kind guy. Not sure if this is a scam. Let's see and hope for the best  :D

No but I have also checked the UK government's site, it just didn't have an easy way to link to the search result. Go [link=http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/]here[/link] and search for the company number 07370933. It explicitly lists the company as OVERDUE.

Not that that means the site is a scam. It just doesn't particularly instill confidence.

Nope, probably not. But I also have no evidence that your company has any contracts to sell mastercards.

Trying to squelch open communication about your service also does not instill confidence.

I was reading Bitcoin Magazine and saw an ad about TheBitcoinCard, which I followed. Before signing up to that web site, I tried to view the FAQ but I needed to sign up first. Same thing for Terms and Conditions. That raised a red flag, although I trust Bitcoin Magazine. Next thing was to visit the forum where I don't see much of good "publicity".

I require sites to let me read the FAQ and their Terms BEFORE I decide to sign up anywhere.

Another thread here:

P.S. It would be interesting to know how this ad ended-up at Bitcoin Magazine's web site. Do they know something more that we don't?
