Title: STOLEN BITCOINS - Armory created additional address
Post by: ask on April 30, 2013, 08:53:35 PM
Hi

Today I wanted to send 1 BTS from my main Armory account to online Blockchain account. Transaction was signed, but unfortunatelly I found that additional 9 BTS were sent to unknown address.

Does someone know what were wrong?  :(

I am not sure what you mean by BTS, it is usually BTC.

The extra coins were probably sent to a "change address", a new address automatically created in your own Armory wallet.  This is done for privacy -- nobody looking at the blockchain can tell which set of coins went to your blockchain.info wallet and which went back to your Armory wallet.  As long as your Armory program reports the balance you expect, you still have full possession of all your coins, they have just shuffled around in addresses a bit.

Thank you. You were right. I checked again and now is OK.

(First time I immediatelly disconnected PC from network because I thought that I am having a worm)
