Title: Lost Bitcoins Post by: dank on June 19, 2011, 12:45:19 AM I encrypted my wallet.dat file in a 7-zip archive and deleted the original file. My computer restarted and now my bitcoin client displays no previous transactions or my bitcoins. Is this normal or did I do something wrong? How can I get my bitcoins back?

Decrypt the wallet.dat file. If it's not in the client folder, the client just creates a new blank wallet. Your coins should be fine. If you take the power cable out of your computer, I guess you expect it to work normally, as well? :D Although, I agree that the exception reported is very stupid, it shouldn't be "cannot write to wallet because of not enough space" (which the above message says), but "wallet file missing" (or something similar).
