Title: GUIminer check hardware error with HD6700 - My Solution Post by: btcforse on April 30, 2013, 10:13:21 PM Hello all! I am posting because I had a similar issue as in this thread.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=156476.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=156476.0) Where using GUIminer v2012-12-03 would result in the "Check Hardware" Error. I am posting the solution I used so others may use it in the future. The error: http://imageshack.us/a/img404/2333/gui1k.jpg This is the exact same error I would receive when using the current edition of GUIminer v2012-12-03. My setup is: OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB Total Physical Memory 7.98 GB Name AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series Adapter Type AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x673E), Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. compatible Adapter Description AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series Adapter RAM 1.00 GB At the time I was getting this error I had Catalyst 13.4 installed. I attempted to uninstall 13.4 and install Catalyst version 11.11, as suggested in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=156476.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=156476.0). This did not solve the problem, and GUIminer would not open. I then uninstalled the 11.11 drivers, and used DriverFusion to remove all of the driver files. http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion (http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion). Once I had removed the files, I then installed Catalyst 12.10 and basically all was well. Here is my current setup on win7 ultimate 64 bit with a really old radeon HD6700 http://imgur.com/Zvrp9RU Im only getting 182 mhashes/sec but I will play with the flags and report my results. Cheers. |
