Title: POLONIEX TURN INTO SCAM???
Post by: smokeysmokey on May 17, 2017, 01:28:06 PM
Poloniex is crap and very dangerous now to go there.
I will not say yet that they scam people but is getting close to it.

I also doubt on ddos attacks and server issues, i think more that they cant handle the amount of payouts because of the huge pumps of several coins
last few weeks so they find ways to keep on running.

Delay in withdrawal up to 24h, support will reply after 96h if you are lucky, if a pump is coming trades will be frozen and starting today they
send out fake txid. they say it is paid and also it showes in your account but the txid is not visible in the blockchain.

mods in the trollbox then advise you to open a ticket what will give them another extra 4 days, very tricky.

one fake txid: e1b3e162d280da5387a59bf8739c2a39f82ca9d57c1f83719e639f2bb6d1cc12
many more can be found in the trollbox on the website.

STAY AWAY THERE FOR NOW!!

I can understand if a site have issues for a few days but 2 weeks now and then no improvement but instead sending out fake txid to users will
be a huge red flag for me.

meh... my ARK withdraw took 5 days to show up in my wallet when I withdraw from bittrex. They don't seem to handle certain altcoins as well sometimes. I've never had a problem with bitcoin or XEM, but other altcoins are sometimes hit or miss, on bittrex or poloniex.   I don't know if it's the coin, the exchange, or both.  I'm assuming the exchange.   Nature of the beast. I protect myself by only keeping money on an exchange in amounts I'm willing to lose, and only buying dollar amounts of alts in amounts I'm willing to lose, which for me is about $5,000 at a time of any given altcoin.  For the average person who hasn't had a 100 bagger altcoin give them a nice payout, I'd suggest using a dollar amount that is comfortable for you.

Also, keep 2 factor authentication on at all times or don't even bother trading, and educate yourself before sending anything. Don't be one of them people who sends the amount to the fee address, among other rookie mistakes made.  Know what you're doing and good luck!

Not scam but overwhelmed. Okcoin used to be like this. I'm guessing the DDOS'ers have a hidden agenda.

How long have you been a member of Poloniex? If you are new, without a track record of at least a year, they're going to manually approve any withdrawals, and because they have so many to go through it's going to take a while.

I recommend noobs to use another exchange instead, as Polo is overwhelmed.

poloniex is not going to scam in the way people are expecting them too, that would be way too obvious.
they are already making shady moves that we can say they are already scamming people!

haven't you seen the recent shenanigans with the altcoin dumps! they dumped on their users while none of them could make any trades :D
and each time they simply say the number of users grown fast and we were under DDOS so we couldn't handle it. and people forgive them! and again get dumped on.
