Title: Any future for Dogecoin?
Post by: Ultegra134 on May 19, 2017, 10:44:45 AM
I recently found approximately 600 Dogecoins in my wallet, I know, it's a petty number but I was still curious, does that coin have any future?I've seen a small increase in price recently, should I keep them or exchange them for BTC? Any ways to earn any Dogecoins?

They are always in contention, because they have a better feature than all the other scam coin here fast transactions and very low fee and the community support is overwhelming not only that they have a lot of market in various exchange.

if for any future you mean huge price pump, it can't happen because the supply of doge is infinite, it's very hard for investors to pump this beyond 100 satoshi, but doge is a good call for a pump and dump, just buy cheap and sell high, within the range 20 satoshi 100 satoshi, you can get good profit doing this

I don't really expect any huge price pump, but when I dismissed Doge (Hence why my wallet still has coins in it) the price was about 52 satoshis per Dogecoin. Would you consider it "risky" buying Dogecoins at 40-60 and wait for the price to increase?

I think there is still hope because there was this time that it increased 50% i think faster in the market cap. And there are 100 million in its circulation so i think only just time, investors and advertisement for more attraction. And this coin is one of the decentralized market. But i still trust in dogecoin management team and they are still one of the oldest legit coins in the market.

If dogecoin will reach 300 sats. I will buy some of it. For me, this is no special coin for me. Any big news about Dogecoin? I've been watching this since the price is 16 sats. Now its on its way to 100 sats. Actually i didnt expect it could go to that price. Good  progress but still no good appeal to me. Goodluck if you buy.

Yes, even to me also I have been watching the price of doge when it was at 25sats, now it has raised to 3x price but in future maybe it will reach to 300 sats. Still, there are no delays when transferring doge, everything seems to be fine for me only concern is the price of the doge.

I consider Dogecoin as a must in every traders portfolio and this is the best time to buy Doge, now that the price is increasing and they are in a big comeback, like all the people here in this forum are saying support and community, dogecoin has both of them.

The price of DOGE in BTC stays almost on the same level for almost 3 years already. The recent rising of the price in USD resembles the the rising in USD of many altcoins recently and IMO it says more about the advantage over fiat of cryptocurrencies in general rather than about any crypto in particular.

Everything has been going up.. i attribute that to some pumping + a bit of user base growth.
Mostly i think there is more people into the Altcoin thing now a days.
For example i noticed some Exchange Troll-Boxs are far more busy then they were a yr ago.

So i would not say anything special about Doge.
All we ever did hear about it is.. tipping and community.

The dev left long ago because he said and i quote.. the community failed to support the coin.
But i mean shit.. what the fuck is there to support ?
People love to forget that it was simply 1 of a 1,000 scrypt based clones that came out at the same time.
Such as Kitteh Coin.

Tipping ?
Can be done with ANY coin.. same with "community"
So ?

What are you left with ? too many coins with Doge spec wise.

Wanna play a risky little trading game with it then go nuts..
Future wise it's blatantly dead.

Another point worth bringing up is the crypto scene has changed since Doge exploded onto the scene.
So there is now far more interesting and promising coins out there to lure in people.
Back when it came out ETH was just some random ICO spammed all the time on Coindesk.
And no one gave two shits about Ripple.

A lot of other bells & whistles to attract the investards money these days.

The Olympic Jamaican Bobsled Team and Nascar paint job days are long gone..
The team forgot to mention Doge in the media after they got a 10 grand donation
..and they finished last LOL

And the Nascar paint job cost $45,000.00 (for one race) of donator money and amounted to nothing.

Could be a nice spot for dogecoin. Fast transactions and very low fees, much wow to be had. As far as retaining their price maybe not.

Paying someone in dogecoins is a good way to keep your transaction fees down.

I still believe in Dogecoin . it's a very old coin and Many investors still trade it on the exchange.
I think this coin has a bright future and it will be possible to become a hot coin in next year.

600 Dogecoin is not a big amount and you will not get much value for it if you sell it now. If you got it free and you do not need money, i think its better to save it and see what could be the price in 1-2 years.

Where would you be able to exchange 600k doges and still have something to withdraw ???

I think the minimum is 3k for shapeshift.io, for example.

Forget it, tip it or hodl it, because it is dust and will get you nothing now.

Yes it is surely in the future the dogecoin price will grow up in ba higher rate than the circulation today you knowbwe dont expect like the other altcoins we dont expect for the price of eth litecoins monero to gi that high in the first place in the pass years so maybe in the future it will be.

Keep holding it of all the coins launch 4 years ago dogecoin has proven that they can still keep up and their project is intact, they are still in control of everything anytime the price will go up further, the small increase is just an indication.

Many Chinese like DOGE, and hoard even billions of number, and when RMB is priced, DOGE is very cheap, so I think DOGE has a good future.

WOW more stupid NOOB rhetoric..
So where is the proof "The Chinese" are all over Doge ?
And why again does that make it have a bright future ?

And how many times do you need to be told what i said earlier about community and the dev ?
If the lead dev himself left BECAUSE "the community failed to support the coin"
Then what dos that mean ?

I think as usual 75% of you are simply posting retarded bullshit here for ROI's.

The simple question I always ask myself when ever I want to sell the little coin I have been able to acquire over a period of time is what I would enjoin anyone to follow is to just decide if I can face anything that happen to price afterwards, the moment I cab answer that, I am not concerned about whatever anybody is or will be saying because its just speculation.

Doge have a huge ampunt of supply so expecting for it on big price in the future is kinda impossible. 1k satoshi is already big enough for doge to achieve but if you dream that it will match like ethereum or litecoin then you are definitely just dreaming.

But do not underestimate the market manipulators, some 2 to 3 weeks back dogecoin was trading below 20 satoshi and now trading around 78 satoshi. Anything may happen but I am sure it may come back to origin points too. So, dogecoins are good for trading and not for planning up for futures.

not much potential. relatively stable between 0.00000076 and 0.00000078.
In recent times, it went down up to 71 satoshi in few exchanges. But compared to many other established coins, doge stays stable.

Although DOGE is 0.0000008 right now I agree with you that it is relatively stable in BTC for the last month. What we can definitely say about DOGE is that it is not a dying coin, because the interest in it is still huge, it is listed on 300+ markets, and the trading volume is over $5 million on Poloniex alone.

Dogecoin seems to have a nice market and the recent movements in the DOGE prices suggests as if something big is coming for DOGE soon. As It is still, this is a coin to invest in it now and get considerable amount of profit in the next year or so. I can see DOGE completing with its siblings like LTC etc very soon.

Doge has no real future since it was created as a representation of a meme in the first place so it is not created to have a future but I still think it did great because it had lasted for years and might continue to be years more. It can be a good coin too if the price is low I can buy and wait for some period of time eventually I will profit from it anyway. Also, doge is nice to use in gambling particularly in crypto-games.

No. "Relatively stable in BTC" means it rises more or less like BTC as compared to USD. And sometimes it risies even more. In the last 24 hours, for example, DOGE has rised 49.19% as compared to USD and 44.58% as compared to BTC.

That's correct, Doge cannot have a huge increase in value since it's unlimited. However, 1 Doge = 114 Satoshis today, that's quite an increase since yesterday.

So if dogecoin has infinite supply and it's price is at about 114 satoshi and cannot have a bigger price bump due to it being unlimited, why are people still using it? I mean wouldn't it be better to sell those coins for as much as you can and switch over to some other alt-coin?

Doge is a relatively a stable coin rendering it a safer option, especially for smaller investors/traders. It has low fees, lower mining difficulty and easier to obtain.

The price of Dogecoin is low but it is still alive for a long period of time, not like some altcoins that are only good after ico then after a month or two price drops to 0. Dogecoin is still useful for me in gambling, I always try different strategy using this coin. I think in the future if many people will use this coin in gambling then the price might go up a little bit.

I agree even though dogecoin is relatively stable at a price different from the bitcoin that rises dramatically, but the dogecoin enthusiasts are also very high

No. "Relatively stable in BTC" means it rises more or less like BTC as compared to USD. And sometimes it risies even more. In the last 24 hours, for example, DOGE has rised 49.19% as compared to USD and 44.58% as compared to BTC.
yes that is very right. i am also helpful that in future Etherium will also have good value, as after bitcoin people are giving more preference to Etherium, therefore its future is also looking good to me.

Ethereum rised 37% in the last 24 hrs, but DOGE is doing okay too with its 10%. I'm not saying Ethereum is bad, but DOGE is definitely not losing the ground, like some other coins nowadays.

At least LTC is taken seriously and being worked on code wise.
And it has a so called "Community" that never bailed on it like the doge tard's did.

I think there's no future for DOGE as a currency, but it's good for speculation since it has large volumes on exchanges

The future looks bleak for dogecoins but for gambling purposes I keep my because Bitcoin confirmation times are unbearable and I just use that in place of bitcoins whenever I want to gamble.

i think we all don`t know what future holds for dogecoin however if dev start working on this coin it has bright future , but why ?
1-Almost everybody knows this coin, despite for other coins many devs and project spends hundreds of thousand dollars just to reach out investors / miners
2-Its transaction fees very very cheap.
3-It is much more quicker than bitcoin.
4-Gambling sites like this coin that means gambler like this coin.
5-Because it is cheap everybody wants to have some in their portfolio

Nah. It has no real discernible features aside from being a meme. It's just rising since every other crypto's rising.

I sold all my dogecoins for a profit at about 80 satoshi but I guess I should have held on to them a little longer.

Yep, you are right. DOGE is up 16% in BTC and almost same in USD in the last 24h. It's now at almost two times higher than when you sold yours. But you shouldn't blame yourself because: 1. this was unpredictable and 2. you've made a profit still.

Being a meme coin is secondary. Of course immensely valuable in terms of being an actual social coin of the internet age. And increasingly FUD-resistant, thankfully.

But more importantly, DOGE has in fact an actual use case that is alive and well working, albeit under most new people's radar. Fast transactions and low fees has effectively turned dogecoin into the coin of preference for liquidity and hedging. Which means that in times when BTC loses against USD, Dogecoin tends to increase its BTC-satoshi value, hence keeping dogecoin on par with USD. It has been a considerable time now since dogecoin turned its back on being strictly valued against BTC.

An example: last night BTC made a temporary USD-nosedive, effectively making the troll box of poloniex go wild about the imminent crash of altcoins, doge included of course. But what actually happened was that BTC started to gather around the safe haven, that's dogecoin, in order to heighten the probability of protecting the investors' worth of USD. Naturally there are exceptions to the norm. Trolls sometimes succeed in making investors fall for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (That's what FUD means, for any newcomers to know), triggering a temporary sell-off.

The hedging tradition most notably seen on poloniex has it's benefits and drawbacks, depending on how you look at it.

If you are looking for dramatic booms and busts, pump and dumps; sure, dogecoin has had it's share, but oftentimes the hedging at poloniex nowadays tends to ease-up and smoothen the wildest swings... Even making dogecoin look like a boring investment to new-comers. But as history (recent and brittle, I know) has indicated, when the asian dogecoin markets can't wait to spike, there is usually a slowly moving build-up during countless hours where dogecoin patiently waits for investors to make up their minds to buy or sell before the train leaves for the next level.

So whatever you do. Trust only yourself. Read up and make your own educated guess. Only invest what you can afford. And do come over and visit us at https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/ (https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/). We're in it for the fun, sometimes failing forward on third party stuff not under dogecoin control. But at the end of the day the technology works perfectly to provide the cryptocurrency eco-system with a cheap and fast transactional backbone.

Future for Dogecoin? None. Buy low, sell high, dont look back. Or else you'll be stuck with heavy bags of Doges.

Right now the price move with doge seems to be Profiting based on the long term you hold it. Importantly already doge has got good circulation due to the usage in several forms and mostly in gambling needs.

If you want to make a profit quickly then you should look for altcoin that has a fast moving, Do not use Dogecoin because its movement is very slow.

I still like digecoin because there is no over to just keep them.
So that is what I plan to do is hold them.
If they are worthless in the future, no skin off my nose since I didn't put very much effort into getting them.

I think there is basically no future for dogecoin.
It was meant to be memecoin, it will be always.
