Title: Is Steem actually profitable?
Post by: Abiky on May 20, 2017, 12:58:56 AM
Have you actually used Steem before? It makes me wonder whenever you could make some serious profit out of it, or it would just be better off to look out for other ways to expand your earnings.

The concept of getting paid for social media content is cool, but I have my doubts of how much I could earn with the Steem platform, since I'm pretty new to it.

Also, I find it rather confusing having three different cryptocurrencies like Steem, Steem Dollars, and Steem Power. Could someone enlighten me in this by the way?

Nevertheless, I would love to hear your thoughts about the possibility of profiting with this new way of publishing content.  :)

Its still the very early days of Steem, but its getting traction. And as the price of Steemit and Golos rise it becomes more profitable.

If I was starting a social media channel tomorrow I sure wouldnt start with Youtube, Facebook etc. Way too much competition and rules imposed by the platforms.

I'd pick Steemit or Golos (for Russian speakers)

1. Yes u can make money. A good post will make 50-100$. However u need to get some whales to vote for you which is not easy if u are unknown. In my experience it is a lot easier to make $10 on steem than anywhere else. However making real money requires work and dedication.

2. As to the currencies: its really simple. There is steem ans sbd. Sbd are worth $1 and steem fluctuate. Steem Power is just locked up steem. U need people with steem power to vote for u in order to get high pay outs.

I'd like to know if you can make money coming from views of your articles and what kind of views are they.is it coming from unique ip's only and is their a limit of views of the articles,it will be unfair if you only need votes coming from whales only.

Hey Coin-investor good to see you over here! So there isn't money made by views yet . It is based off the # of votes and who is voting. DopecoinSeeds is on it here:

I don't want to give my hopes up but i want to try it and see if i get lucky. It is really good for knowledge and it also has some btc info that is very helpful for this forum too. Steem is on its lowest price period. Its just few ago when steemit restarted it price back to 0.0001btc now its heading forward again to its previous All time high .0065btc

The point is buy $STEEM now while the price is very LOW. If you are steemit.com user blog high quality blog post to earn $STEEM from Steemit. STEEM payments you will receive will increase while the STEEM price is traveling back to its highest price rate.

Check out this steemit post: https://steemit.com/steemit/@pinagpala/are-you-a-trader-learn-why-you-should-blog-on-steemit-or-buy-steem-now

Among most of the altcoins that are listed to the exchange websites steem is mentioned as the one that is profitable. The price increase depending the market value seems to increase gradually and same as what happened with eth unexpected time the big pumping happens.

I think Steem is good, after all, BM is involved, Steem Dollars is targeting the dollar, and the rest I don't know.

in the early days of its release when things were so hot and everyone was participating and earning a lot of money, that platform was a good place to earn money and make profit.

but i did some calculations a while back (and this may not be perfect but) i made the conclusion that it is not worth the time and effort. if i can make quality material, then i'd rather make a website or a blog even and publish them there and use the traffic that the high quality content generates and some SEO techniques to earn money and that money will be a lot more.

In that case, why does Youtube exist? Why do people not just upload videos to their own website?

Because Youtube has eyeballs. Same with Steem and Golos

Yes it seems so. I believe that decentralized social media platforms are the way of the future, making them fierce competitions against traditional and centralized well known services like Facebook and others.

If successful enough, they could become a big hit as anyone would prefer to switch to decentralized solutions rather than all the opposite which tend to spy over their personal information, among other things for their own gains.  ;D

Thanks for enlightening me about this, mate. I guess that it would require a lot of hard work and effort (just like with anything else in life), but for the profits, it would be worthwhile.

As for Steem Power, I was wondering if it would be possible to convert them to Steem Dollars or it only pays out in Steem?

Nevertheless, I will get started with this exciting social media platform right away.  :)

Steem needs to invest in finding participating readers and advertisers for the posting to regain profitability.

Agree. If Steem gathers a vast number of posters and becomes extremely popular, then it would surely increase the chances of profiting with it. Once people realize that decentralized social media platforms are the way to go, they will make the switch, eventually making Steemit mainstream.

Imagine if you would be able to make a living by just posting on the Steemit platform. It's going take a lot of hard work, but as you continue to build your Steem Power, you will earn more Steem leading your way towards never ending profits for the long term. Just my opinion.  :)

When steem pumped a lot in the early days it was really profitable but now unless you are extremely popular u wont make much from it in my opinion.

Take a look at another GUI for the Steem blockchain: https://beta.chainbb.com/

Having a forum style where people will actually put thought and quality content into posts is quite nice.  Think about all the automotive repair forums, house repair forums, the list goes on and on.  Users are motivated to post quality content.

The Steem blockchain will not stay stagnant, instead grow legs and evolve.

True story my first real Steemit earning, back in the day when it was around 3.00, I had a $$ whale upvote my comment and made around $600.00. This was my third comment. So yeah I'd say you can make some money on there.

Great. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Steem's profitability. I've seen many people make money from Steem by making good articles, thus it encourages me to get started writing good quality posts on this revolutionary platform.

I know that it would take quite some effort to get to the point where I could earn a living out of it, but I think that it would be worth it. Now, I'm trying to figure out the estimated interest earnings you would get by holding Steem Power. If you, or anybody else could help me with this, then I would greatly appreciate it.  :)

I joined steem a month ago. I only make about 10 SBD. I don't invest there. YOu need to invest a lot so your vote will be worth. From zero investment I post 150 more articles I mean short articles. It takes me a lot of time. I make only 10 SBD and transfer to bittrex. I see an account who can get higher income from voting has more than thousand steem power. It means few BTCS he invested there. For me investing so much BTC in steem, I 'll think many times. I think signature campaign is more profitable than steemit.

It takes a while to build a following on steemit, but if you produce quality articles, you do end up getting some high value votes.

It's not really a social media platform in that you won't earn more than pennies for posting social-media type stuff. It's more a blogging platform, and if you produce a decent quality article, you are more likely to earn the big bucks.

$600 for articles or comments? You need hard work.I had 150 more articles the best one only make $7.50. It is difficult to earn more than 10 USD for an article, But I don't know others .

Content creators win, people who buy Steem from exchanges lose. Like why would you even buy it only the rich with their big votes win.

Thanks for the advice. Seems like a great opportunity to make a side income out of it, while delivering quality content to everyone within this innovative platform.

I hope that platforms like Steemit could become very popular and rival traditional social media platforms and even blogging platforms. It gives the power back to the content creators, instead of the advertisers where they earn a living out of you.

I'm thinking of investing in Steem Power and holding it for the long term to generate Steem over time. It'll be more like a passive income where my earnings would grow the more Steem I would generate with Steem Power.  :)

https://www.onebitcoinbuy.com/steem-cryptocurrency-buy-cash-money-invest.php

STEEM is the first altcoin that has this potential, as it can bring people to Cryptocurrency that have never used it before. There has never before been a currency that had this kind of potential, as STEEM is the first coin that will pay you for posting pictures of yourself or food, or writing about your day, or sharing videos. But it cannot do it alone. STEEM's value is based on community involvement.

 :-*

Completely agree with your statement, mate. STEEM is one of the best altcoins in existence with the purpose to bring people from the mainstream world to get started with cryptocurrencies. By decentralizing social media, people would have freedom of speech with STEEM and gain the ability to share content that will remain in the blockchain virtually forever.

There are so many ways to earn with STEEM not only by posting rewards but also by holding STEEM Dollars, and STEEM Power. Given that you could multiply your earnings over the long term, STEEM looks like it is very profitable. At first, I didn't realize this since I was new to the platform, but as I began learning about it, I've realized its true potential.

With STEEM, everybody wins as they make profit and contribute towards delivering quality content to other people in the mainstream world. Just my thoughts ;D

Yes. You can make the most profits by getting upvotes from other people with the content you provide. Of course, that is not the only way to profit with STEEM as you could also invest into STEEM Dollars to earn interest and grow your capital. In addition, there is the option to buy STEEM Power to further increase your chances of generating STEEM in the long term. Thus, the more STEEM Power you have, the bigger profits you would make.

The idea of the STEEM platform is truly revolutionary and will radically change the way people share content over social media free from any intermediaries that would take up your personal, and valuable information. Once STEEM becomes popular enough in the mainstream world, it may become a rival against traditional social media platforms.

Nevertheless, there are many ways to earn with STEEM. You just have to find which method works best for you to start making money right away. Just my thoughts ;D
