Title: Sending a transaction to multiple people with the same fees Post by: erpbridge on May 20, 2017, 02:27:22 PM I have never sent the same transaction to multiple people. When I send money to a single person, say I pay 0.0004 in fees. Can I send money to multiple people in the same transaction and pay just one fees for the entire transaction ?
If so, then is there an online wallet which supports this feature ? Title: Re: Sending a transaction to multiple people with the same fees Post by: MadGamer on May 20, 2017, 02:44:59 PM I can't tell you much about online wallets but I know that this is possible using Electrum, Its not a newbie friendly method really but It works just fine. I suggest checking this post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=298758.msg14497089#msg14497089) to have a better understanding.

It seems to be an year old post and says since its not too common, hence GUI doesn't support it. I am imagining it to be much common now, or atleast some online wallet site supporting it. Also is Electrum the only wallet which offers it as of now ? No, you can't send Bitcoin to multiple addresses with the same fees used for a single transaction, because your inputs and outputs data size would be bigger (obviously), but paying in a bulk reduces the fees drastically rather than paying one at a time. If so, then is there an online wallet which supports this feature ? Also, I don't think there is an online wallet that would support such feature. There are four wallets that I know support this feature: Electrum; Bitcoin Core; Armory; and Blockchain.info. Also is Electrum the only wallet which offers it as of now ? The Electrum GUI does support it... and it is almost as easy to do as doing a normal send...https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/15/zxx8m.png https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/15/F2UwW.png As the little popup says, you just type the addresses in the "Pay To" box put a comma and then the amount you want to send. Check this post from the Electrum Docs for an example: http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-do-bulk-payments-with-electrum NOTE: the amount will be in the units that you're set in your "Tools->Preferences->Appearance"... BTC, mBTC or bits. Title: Re: Sending a transaction to multiple people with the same fees Post by: erpbridge on June 10, 2017, 04:02:27 AM Thank you so much for the answer. That looks perfect for my usecase. Onto downloading it now.
If anyone here knows of a website which would allow it as well, please let me know. I am always on the go, and like to have my bitcoins available online. |
