Title: If I were Satoshi Nakamoto...
Post by: botolo86 on May 21, 2017, 06:33:41 AM
If you were Satoshi Nakamoto, would you:

  • reveal yourself?
  • if so, how would you do this?
  • what would you think of Bitcoin today?
  • what would you think of altcoins today?

No. Anonymity has its great privileges. Who needs so much unending, always intruding fame when they already have so much wealth? It's the best of both worlds! The riches fame brings without any of the hassles!

  • what would you think of Bitcoin today?
I'd be annoyed by the hard fork debate. And I'd probably recognize that greater transaction throughput is needed and we should all come together to coordinate the improvement of transaction sizes at one scheduled point in time - halting all transactions for a period of 48-72 hours to code in the upgrade, test it, and set it to go live.

  • what would you think of altcoins today?
I would think they're entertaining...in the spirit of "the project"...as long as they don't overcome Bitcoin, of course. Ethereum is clever.

1. No I will never reveal myself.
2..............
3. Bitcoin is quite healthy right now but Segwit and LN need to be activated as soon as possible to make bitcoin transactions cheaper and faster again.
4. Almost all altcoins are just clone but there are few alts that have lots of future potential, although we can't compare bitcoin with other alts.

If I were Satoshi, I will exchange some of the most "recent" coins that I mined into fiat, forget about bitcoin and enjoy a good life anonymously... Maybe also keep a few of those for future. Afterall, people are monitoring those early coins that definitely linked to Satoshi, but not those that were mined later on.

all the "most recent" coins of satoshi are from early years, from some point back then, people started pooling the work and mining farms showed up and difficulty went up that causes solo mining to die. specially with CPU!
and satoshi made bitcoin so that people don't have to "sell" anything but instead "use" bitcoin directly "instead of fiat"!

LOL, think well bro, If I am Satoshi. I will be still hide and assist the technology more better. If US or China Government knows that, they will take me to their custody or they will ask for copyright by torchering me. So I don't do that ever.
I will make security platform with the blockchain technology and provide the services and make money out it. If Satoshi caught without he is big gun in World economy then he may loose his life also.

No I would never reveal my self as that is the fundamental of Bitcoins. The whole system is anymoys based. Well definitely would be surprised by the price but not that it's loved so much, and countries are using it. Alt joins are not worth thinking, it's only Bitcoins for me. However I would try and work out a consensus among the fees and try and find a issue to find the confirmation time quicker.

If I were him I would never reveal myself. I don't think he needs media attention and star status and thus he would only make potentialy unpleasant situation for him.
Regarding Bitcoin I suppose he predicted the success but maybe not all the issues that Bitcoin is going through now.
If I were him I would try to influence from behind to improve the situation.

If I am Satoshi Nakamoto I would certainly not gonna reveal myself because of the price right now the danger to my life would be great even if you are the richest person on the earth it is not worth if you live your life with fear and doubt for your safety, that is why I think I would stay hidden, but I think I can still own some bitcoin and get rich at the same time, the only fear in life was for his family and relatives that their lives would truly be in danger.

What makes you think that Satoshi is still very much active in mining and what wrong is it to sell those coins mined by satoshi and what if everyone is monitoring those coins,he did not steal those,he owns those coins and there is nothing wrong if he chooses to sell those, but there might be a panic trigger thinking he might dump every coins he is holding which might drag the price down.

If I were Satoshi Nakamoto I will still implement a decentralized system. But I will layout a clear system for bitcoins such that will include an automatic code updates that will automatically increase the blocksize when the transactions reach a certain number. With that kind of set-up all transactions will be confirmed in an instant and we will have low miner fees.

To talk, What can do nothing made Satoshi nakamoto, you need to first think what kind of person he is. Only knowing its morally psychological quality, we will be able to determine its further actions with respect to its incognito or even its creation of cryptography, Bitcoin.

If you technology and hold the bitcoin easily, then mining network will not work and we will see the delay in transaction. If I am satoshi, I will reserve the copyright and comes to press and announces and I will be millionaire with this technology.

You need to start considering issues from other angle that there is a possibility in every view represented by people. Several people have claimed to be Satoshi but they have been casted doubt on. For me if the real Satoshi should come out and he was believed to be the real one then he will negate the anonymity concept of bitcoin which is a strong fabric that holds bitcoin together.

I think I did not come across properly, the name satoshi nakamoto is a psudo name for a collective group of people (a consortium) , it is not one person or a member of this group.

No, I won't reveal myself. Just like in anime the legend is always a secret.
Do what?
I would keep a million BTC in my pocket then spend it time to time
Well I'd say that Bitcoin is doing pretty good these days.
Alts are not bad, if it were to challenge Bitcoin to the top so be it. The thing here is that we must improve cryptocurrencies. If it can provide all the misimperfection of Bitcoin then it will be better.

what would you think of Bitcoin today? I'd be proud but want to help fix the major issues.
what would you think of altcoins today? Everyone is free to copy bitcoins or come up with something better so as Satoshi I would be happy that people are free to use whatever currency they choose. Saddened by the scam coins though, as that was never my intention.

No. I would probably end up in prison if I were Satoshi.

What would you think of altcoins today?
I would probably trade some of my massive reserves of BTC into ETH to help pump it.

And be targeted by criminals and governments? You are one of the richest men in the world, and your money is held in Bitcoin, a currency that can be transferred to any anonymous account in the world if anyone gain access to the your wallet.

It is better to live anonymously. Maybe launder your Bitcoins and live like a millionaire. Without having to work in life and owning luxurious cars and houses. You can even keep up your work with Bitcoin if you don't want to give up on your creation.

Bitcoin is illegal and even a threat to government. example if one bitcoin user makes bitcoin as a crime tool you are the first person in search by the government and you are responsible as the creator of bitcoin. eventhough you are rich but the safety of life is very important.

This is a nice question, thank you. If I were Satoshi Nakamoto I would be doing what he did by remaining anonymous but always keeping my own share of the Bitcoin I got when i started it and I might even sell some of them to be converted to other coins as well. I will just enjoy my time and my life together with my family and not get embroiled with the complex and mind-splitting drama the Bitcoin community is engaged right now.

That is a very childish attitude, really

But somehow I'm not surprised. How long ago did you finish school (provided you finished it at all)? As to me, I would likely negotiate a private, off-the-market deal and sell a part of my (his) coins, say, around 30-50% of the entire stash, to fund some promising biotechnological research and education. There are so many interesting ideas in this field that are heavily underfunded due to obstacles put up by government agencies like FDA and their cronies, big pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer or Merck which are stifling any competition in the field

Hmm, actually everything is indeed profitable and provides a pretty good impact on the growth of the bitcoin. Because in umumkannya market then bitcoin faster respond well to its growth. But this is about a system, where I noticed that the very opposite of the bitcoin system system of the bank. So if the owner of the bitcoin appears, then it will only give the effect is not long like this now. Because many will surely test that must be accepted and if not qualify then the result will be lost

I'd come forward. We need some helpful guidance,
even with just the founders opinion. Would be nice
to see some viewpoint not clouded by $$ or power.

A light touch viewpoint from Satoshi would go a long way towards
finding consensus.

Though coming out as Satoshi would really suck for Satoshi imho.

If I were him I would continue watching all the speculation and Bitcoin movements quietly anonimously and enjoying the life with some BTCs in somewhere nice to live. I would just come back to BTC world anonimously if something should be done to revert the situation, like if someone (a business) control Bitcoin making everyone be subjugated to the business' interests.

If i were satoshi i would not reveal my identity cause it is very dangereous for myself and also for the bitcoin. The government would arrest me because of creating this currency which is ilegal in some countries. On the other hand i would gain more popularity but as a satoshi i don't want it to be honest, so far satoshi did a good job making bitcoin decentralized and uncontroll and reveal his or their identity i think it's not a good idea. Talking about altcoin i believe that satoshi would think those coins are just a clone that would not beat bitcoin since original is always better.

If I`m Sotshi I would sell some coins and go to deserved vocation. We talking about billions in dollars or euros in this moment, and he is probably very rich guy. When we talk about Satoshi, is there possibility that he is behind some other coin too? I ask my self that question often

I don't think that he is

Obviously, if that would be some shit coin, it would be an outright waste of time and life for him. If he wanted to create a decent coin, it would be in a direct competition with Bitcoin, right? So why would he want that in the first place at all? Apart from that, going serious into this would inevitably betray him as Satoshi Nakamoto of Bitcoin fame since quite a few people have been scrutinizing every line of code he contributed and every line of text he ever posted trying to find the real guy behind them (and likely not just individual people only). Therefore, if he wants to remain in disguise, it makes no sense for him to come up with a new coin

If you were Satoshi Nakamoto, would you:

  • reveal yourself?
  • if so, how would you do this?
  • what would you think of Bitcoin today?
  • what would you think of altcoins today?

1) I would reveal myself.
2) Upon the project's creation, I would not use pen names. I will be transparent to my cause to help it flourish.
3) Today, Bitcoin has been of big help to people in terms of online earnings and investments. It is also utilized as a form of payment in some areas of jurisdiction to facilitate trade and commerce.
4) Today, altcoins remain to be an alternative to Bitcoins as its acronym suggests.

I would be a fly on the wall if I was Satoshi Nakamoto, cloaked in an unrecognizable alternate personality perhaps.  The thing is, I would be overwhelmed by the need to see if people continued to talk about me, and I would like be like the hobbit that went bad because he was worshipping "his precious ".
My greed and my need to receive recognition for my achievements (in other words my ego) would be my demise.   He probably could never be at ease because his clever method of transacting ( the beloved Blockchain )  is reshaping the entire arena of banking and traditional fiat. Those wealthy, bankers pockets are lined with the 24kt gold gained by controlling their money.   because if he really lurks here at any time, He is vulnerable to being discovered which means Big Brother Bank has at least one  inside man waiting to show some agression.

Satoshi Is rumored to be Be an entity and I have Also been told the name is  acronym.

I would reveal myselfs as Satoshi Nakamato,  if I were him.
Or not.  I change my mind like I change  my outfits on this topic.

Satoshi Nakamoto if you are reading this, thank you for your clever solution to the problematic nature of traditional currency.  You Rock and you changed the world.  You are so clever I doubt you are 1 man.

I just create diary of my life and the true identity and write in it and hide it under the gravel or sand. That the future mankind can dig it in their time and read my diary and that the only time they can know who really is Satoshi Nakamoto and they can create history of my life as the creator of the Bitcoin.

3. I would be disappointed at the current high fees and slowdown of the network, and I would propose solutions to these problems which is for me Segwit.

So you would still want a bit of recognition, right?

Even if after you are long gone? I don't think that anything in your personal life would be very interesting to simple Bitcoin users apart from a few fanboys (who may be interested in what brand of toilet paper you use and what kind of porno you watch). Therefore, the real Satoshi Nakamoto, not you, would likely prefer to be gone for good and remain that. Bitcoin is enough and sufficient to write his name in ages provided it happens to survive its creator, of course. But Satoshi may have already passed away, so it doesn't really matter anyway

No. Bitcoin is a complex system and being a programmer with no proper security, my life is on the line so I won't reveal myself.
Well I will store some BTC in my cold storage and became like low in the online world. Travel the world. Enjoy life or play games.
Well Bitcoin is really outstanding nowadays because some countries are recognizing it so it's not a very bad years for BTC.
Altcoins are more improved version of bitcoins and they want to dethrone Bitcoin but if Bitcoin have some error that altcoins don't have then why don't give altcoins a try.

Regardless, I'm absolutely interested why people want to know about satoshi so much? For example, if I don't remember the person who made a colored TV, I would still be watching it, The idea is about the object/item/theory and not just the person's name.

It's strange because I was thinking about that yesterday. I believe at some point people will start to fear that his 1m coins may be moved and that would crash the market. So to prevent it I would sign a message saying that I will share the majority of the premine among every bitcoin address based on their balance (that would prevent people from creating an infinite number of addresses). After that I would disappear forever.

I don't think so, many of the world's great inventors who clearly reveal themselves, Bill Gates introduced himself as the inventor of microsoft windows. And nothing happens to him after becoming the richest man in the world. Only one reason that satoshi is invisible/pseudonymous, is because of its intention to make the world change through decentralization of the currency. Perhaps Satoshi died in 2013. I remember that someone wrote that when Craig Wright said that he was Satoshi, someone discovered that Wright had a familiar programmer who was more suited to the role of Satoshi and died in 2013. Perhaps Wright knew something about him, And so he could first convince Andersen that Satoshi is he. But these are just my guesses, most likely we will never know the real name of Satoshi, most likely it's even for the better

Yeah, no one loves America but everyone and his dog love American dollars

I guess virtually the same could be said in respect to Satoshi, no one wants to be him (hiding from the public eye all the time) but everyone would love to have his bitcoins. Regarding the man who died in 2013 and who might in fact be real Satoshi Nakamoto, the question is about David Kleiman (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Kleiman), a computer forensics analyst, whom Craig Wright was familiar with. Thus he might know something about Bitcoin that no one else does and on this account pretend to be Satoshi Nakamoto (though he is an impostor, obviously)

4. Altcoins would be part of the success, competition and most being essentially inferior versions of Bitcoin.

And nothing happens to him after becoming the richest man in the world. Only one reason that satoshi is invisible/pseudonymous, is because of its intention to make the world change through decentralization of the currency. This will have no widespread impact if satoshi appears to the public space.

Well that's unexpected but possible. But as far as I know he voluntarily leave in this community for his own various of reasons, whether he is alive or not up to this day I think his life is still on danger.

Will you provide some links on where you've read that Satoshi died and Craig wright had a familiar programmer that died in 2013? That would help me to know more in bitcoins history.

If remember correctly satoshi once said that lost coins are a small contribution to everyone in the network, so there is no need to distribute the coins, he could lose the coins on purpose, he could send the coins to an address for which he does not have the private keys, or he could destroy the wallets that contain the coins at the moment, and to me that is easier than to try to distribute the coins.

when satoshi release his coin publicly i think it would just make the market back to unstable , i mean the expensive and worthy bitcoin are because of how rare to get and earn bitcoin itself . but when satoshi did it , it wouldn't as rare as before. so i know satoshi would do something better rather than have to release his coins.

Well, I’m not suggesting for satoshi to sell his bitcoins, I’m suggesting for ways those coins are lost, if they are not lost already, so those coins don’t destabilize the bitcoin economy, and influx of such a huge amount of coins could crash the price almost overnight, but at the same time it will be a golden opportunity to buy bitcoin, so I do not think satoshi would do that.

The impact of these coins hitting the market would be pretty unpredictable

Obviously, if Satoshi (or whoever gets ownership of these coins) dumps them all at once, that will surely crash the prices everywhere, though it remains to be seen how much exactly. On the other hand, injecting so many bitcoins would be beneficial in the long run since that would mean more even wealth distribution provided the coins are really sold on exchanges and not off the market to some private investor like Winklevoss and his evil twin

reveal yourself?
No. I would probably end up in prison if I were Satoshi.

That's a possibility. It's funny but true, BTC has been used in under the table transactions so you're be playing a Tom and Jerry game with cops if they find you.

In addition, I would anonymously send bitcoin to strangers.. as many
as possible.  1 bitcoin to each one. What a thrill!!!

Nice idea. Send what you can afford. I wonder the look on thier face when they receive one BTC; "wow I just received 1btc". I think they can have a heart attack on that. I think when the world notice that someone has randomly sending BTC worldwide, they would be curious about it and try to track you down.

If i was sathoshi nakamoto, I'll stay unknown "anonymous" forever!

I know my skills and idea change the world for good forever.

Revealing himself to public will only destroy his freedom.

I think i am agree with you this is one of the reason i think why still satoshi still not revealing.. but i strong believe that satoshi is always here in bitcoin forum we just don't know that man he is talking with your thread..
And that is why he is hiding due to many complains about bitcoin about development or any that can request for development. that annoying to his ears to hear them..

If I were Satoshi Naamoto...I'd get on bitcointalk randomly...say 1x a week and dump 10,000 btc to folk on here with a btc address in their profile

someone did that ...said he was spreading the joy as Satoshi...damn...would be like Santa Claus..maybe some folk would get some hope from the gesture

and get some of the  bitcoin devs of many flavors to compromise ..just knowing Satoshi was about as the above trickster :)

Damn it would be wild would in not? Great fun indeed :) Also would be typical Satoshi..involved w/o really being involved...

- Definitely not just 1 person, so that would be difficult and/or not possible

- Even if it was possible I'm not sure I'd even want to ever reveal myself. Too many questions from too many people to make it worth it

- I would think that BTC was a great experiment that shows promise, but also highlighted a bunch of things that need to be fleshed out before the world is ready for adoption on a larger scale

- I look at most altcoins and see ponzi schemes, so I would imagine he/they do too

If I were Satoshi Nakamoto, probably I'm just going to ignore the mess in the bitcoin world right now, maybe I'm going to help a little bit but I'm not going to reveal myself or something so stupid. Satoshi Nakamoto is a very mysterious man, we don't know where he is right now, who he is, what does he looks like, and so many questions to ask.

But I know only one reason, he is hiding himself(if he is still alive) because he knew from the start that bitcoin would be this popular, that would be on the highest place above all of the coins in the crypto world, he doesn't want so much attention from the public, because it could be the reason for someone to do bad to him or something else that is unnecessary because of the jealousy on his success.

Most Nerds are like Satoshi Nakamoto. They don't enjoy too much attention or they may have physical deformity or disabilities they don't want the World to see.

i think i don't want to show my face or my voice into public because i know maybe it will make some chaos in the market and i think i will not do this. what i am think about bitcoin today is i am very happy that bitcoin is works good like what i am doing in the project before and i think i will only watch and make some work to make sure that bitcoin can works with good and no other problem that maybe makes people too worried about bitcoin.

I exhibit myself out to real world and get the copy right on bitcoin and blockchain technology. Now many people creating the altcoin with this technology. I will attack them with the copy right notice and get the share partnership on all the bitcoin and altcoin related business.
