Title: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: Red-Apple on May 21, 2017, 05:36:05 PM i don't think there is anyone that is unaware of the altcoin pumps that is currently going on. in this situation there are a lot of false information being spread, most of them are big obvious lies that are simply shows their desperation for more newbies to give them money.
most of the news sites will publish anything, they don't care about authenticity of the news. they just care about money and how they can get more of it. right now there is a new circling around saying "Google" has started investing in ethereum and its ICOs! i can't even put to words how ridiculous this sounds, google investing in a centralized not-legal ICO cryptocurrency! ;D and here is their source: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/golem-network which was showing Google as the investor in this ICO! now after some time has passed and the news is spread, some random guy went ahead and added some more entities to the list to ridicule those spreading this news, we can expect Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) soon invest in Ethereum and its linked ICOs too: https://i.redd.it/wjuk42ebmvyy.png here is an archive: https://archive.fo/BdeU9 have fun... and the worst part is that they are all going to end badly. as soon as the dumps begin and everyone starts to make their exit, all the newbies and panic sellers will look for a window to jump out and there will be blood :) Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: tosmartak on May 22, 2017, 08:07:24 AM it really is starting to become very annoying, everywhere you look these days they are talking about a shitcoin and how they are big and worth investing in. and the worst part is that they are all going to end badly. as soon as the dumps begin and everyone starts to make their exit, all the newbies and panic sellers will look for a window to jump out and there will be blood :) You are very right. Most of them have ended badly in the past and most will still keep ending badly. I just pity the gullible ones who listens to everything on media and follows hook, line and sinker. Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: iamTom123 on May 22, 2017, 09:49:25 AM There should be a way for newbies (just like me) to determine of a new ICO is just there to scam people or can be a genuine opportunity. Or should we not trust all the new ICOs as they are all not worth it all?
I am then looking for an authoritative site or a figure that can examine all of these new ICOs deeply and can come up with a recommendation based on facts and not just another mind-numbing opinion. As of now, cryptocurrency market is still on a stage akin to the wild wild west as there are no rules and no regulations whatsoever. I am then looking for an authoritative site or a figure that can examine all of these new ICOs deeply and can come up with a recommendation based on facts and not just another mind-numbing opinion. there are a couple of websites that list ICOs and give some additional information on them. you can find these websites through searching (sorry i don't use any of them). and i strongly advise against investing in an ICO, at this day and age investing in an altcoin ICO is worse than a gamble with bad odds. there are a lot of scams out there and even if they aren't scams there is no reason for many of them to even succeed. you are taking a huge risk by investing in these things. Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: pearlmen on May 22, 2017, 01:33:46 PM Your argument is true and that is even related to my earlier reply to someone looking for where to invest and talking about reading from various website whose interest mainly is to generate revenue through the increased number of views and visit to their site and would publish anything to achieve that object. My position has always been the best source of information is on the forum where undiluted information are expressed with extensive critics among other evaluation of projects.

Not at all surprising seeing these posts a lot these days, saw a post on Fb it says donate us Bitcoins and ETHERUM and then we will give you a token and then you burn the token. This people target the newbies and newbies are bound to fall for this traps. Sadly it's on the rise and soon we shall see many complaints being reported. The best we can do is make sure try and spread information about this so people don't fall for this. Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: Catmony on May 22, 2017, 02:12:40 PM Yes I agree on this and I never just go with HYPE/FUD, its always better make your own research before investing in any alt or in ICO. I have also heard that rumor but can't find reliable source to that news, so I just left it.
Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: Kprawn on May 22, 2017, 03:11:51 PM There are some reputable resources out there, but most people just go with the flow. Just look what happened with Hilary Clinton in the election...
some unknown website said that she was linked to some paedophile network operating out of a Pizza place... someone believed this and went on a rampage with a gun to save the children. ::) .... Innocent people can get hurt or in this case lose money. I always wait a few day after some "Breaking News" has been released, to check it's authenticity against other sites. ::) Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: Chin Cheng on May 22, 2017, 06:18:14 PM This is what happens when there are paid news and legal actions are to be taken against them for spreading false news because the amount of money they are making with these sort of illegal news and the attention a project gets is huge,so these things have to be dealt with seriously.

That actually sounds funny. Do you have a link so we can read it over? I'm assuming there isn't technical and it's all incorrect information. Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: infer on May 22, 2017, 07:44:14 PM false information is the main key lead to the big pump. If you are a risk taker, just buy a coin which has good news and you can earn a good amount of money with that. AS you can see, without any news, xrp is going down and down and down

Cryptocurrency news is not a bad thing but many holders got trick with this sometimes and get bankcrupt i guess.and the worst part is that they are all going to end badly. as soon as the dumps begin and everyone starts to make their exit, all the newbies and panic sellers will look for a window to jump out and there will be blood :) Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: Pearls Before Swine on May 22, 2017, 11:02:46 PM Good advice indeed. I follow the maxim "Believe half of what you see, and none of what you read." And this is especially true of altcoin news, which is propagated by fraudsters almost exclusively and is formulated to steal your money. Everything printed about altcoins is hype, because there is no real improvement. Bitcoin can essentially do everything an altcoin can do, and it has a much wider user base than any of the other cryptos. Don't listen to this garbage. Bravo, OP.

Anyone who gets into this really should arrive armed with the knowledge that it's filled with people who'll do anything to relieve you of your money. Truth is a rare commodity indeed and it's always going to be that way. I'm not sure there are any fully reputable news sources, and even if there are they're going to be gamed like hell. Nothing is as it seems from the lowliest shitcoin pumper right up to the fellas at the top. Title: Re: don't believe the news you read online when it comes to investing your money Post by: xuan87 on May 22, 2017, 11:31:12 PM You need to be careful with the internet world, all of the news you heard or you search need to be confirmed by searching in a different site and if possible search it on a reputable site, a blog, site or forum is filled with people speculation and other information that sometimes can mislead, that is why sometimes it took a lot of time before I decided to invest in one coin and I never invest in infamous coin
