Title: We should remove dirty words from the internet
Post by: Jerry from Rochester on May 01, 2013, 09:10:28 PM
It has recently come to my attention that there are dirty words on the internet. This is a disgrace.  There could be kids on the internet that could read or hear your dirty words.  That's not fair for the kids.  However, I did read that there are no girls on the internet so maybe this would only apply to boys.

I don't think we need a law or nut'n.  Maybe if when we see a dirty word on the internet we should call the person's mama.  I think if we do this enough, all cuss'n on the internet will stop.

For what it's worth, I try to avoid cussing myself.
Unless I gotta.  But I make sure there's no kids around i.e. a website where kids shouldn't be.
Can I still say "crap" tho?
Kind of cursing but not really that bad...

That'd probably work in the majority of cases.

Act local!

Thank you for the support bonker.  That is a nice picture you have there.  Looks like you're a little tired though.  Maybe you should fix your hair up all pretty like and then have another picture taken.

I didn't know that there was porn on the internet.

Man, I remember some time in 1996 or something when some politicians were actually trying to do that. That was pretty lulzy.

I used to swear like a sailor, then I grew up. I try to save it to enunciate my points when necessary.

There is quite a bit of port on the internet, most of it propaganda put out by the authorites to promote homosexuality and deviancy.

Also, thanks for the fashion advice buddy. It was a mugshot so I didn't really get time to get my shit together.

Hey watch your language.  I thought you and I was in agreement about them dirty words on the internets.  I oughta call your mama and let her know what filth you type.

Take a lesson from BadBear who has enough sense to refrain from cursing on the internets.

Don't worry text filters are soon to be implemented in every browser.

Every time when someone writes something like the word *#*% they will replace it with some nonsense like *#*%.

Well I say, it's good to hear the the technology is helping remove dirty words from the internets.  There ain't no sense in everybody cuss'n everywhere.  We's should keep bitcointalk a family friendly place.  Who knows there could be kids on the internets.  It's nice that we cans help preserve their innocents.  No need for cursing at all.

We need a swearing police! Like the bitcoin police, but even more useless!

Well I'm not to sure what swearing police could accomplish.  I thinks that people just to be more aware of what theys type and be a little more respectful of one another.

I'm totally in. We can BBQ out on the veranda, swill some cold brewskis and occasionally look for swear words on google, issuing a memo "Yup, they're still doing it". Just like the real bitcoin police.

How about being a responsible parent instead?

There have been site filters for a very long time. But the fact that there are browser extensions for virtually anything seems to be less common knowledge.

On a serious note, you are obviously trying to point out the irony in something else. However, I cannot figure out what that something else could be since you make no hints to it at all.

rather than just strutting around this thread talking jazz like all the other muffins, im going to propose a solution to the swearing problem: create new non profain expletives and promote their use. here are a few:

1) bone gobbling trumpet jockey
2) bum dirt
3) winky splash
4) filthy solids

myrkul you should listen to bonker.  Do you see how she talks all civil like (in the most recent post, a few posts before she was a little potty mouth.)  Your dirty words don't really add to the conversation.  It doesn't appeal to us conversation types.
