Title: advice needed on 6 GPU Zotac mini 1070 rig stop hashing
Post by: bigassboy on May 22, 2017, 12:53:30 PM
Hi!
I'm having issues with my newly built Nvidia rig. The rig will stop hashing anytime after 10-16 minutes. When its attempting to re-connect, I'm getting 0 hash. I have to do a reboot from my w10 to make it work but each time it will stop hashing again after 10-16 minutes. If I adjust the msi afterburner fan to auto (default 43 rev) I don't have this problem but need to move the rig to a cooler room(temperature 75 deg cel) It only happens when I manually adjust the fan speed, I wanted a higher rev because the weather is hot and humid here.

by the way, i'm getting 410h/s on the stock gpu which I think is on a lower side. Would really appreciated if someone could help me..

Thanks in advance

What exact miner app/version are you running? (are you running lets say a hacked no-fee claymore miner or something?)

What is the GPU temp when it cuts out?

Whats the ambient temp when it cuts out?

Whats the internal rig temp when it shuts off?

What's the line voltage at the socket you are using to power the miner? [while its mining full ham] (this i want to know the most)

Using nvidiainspector, check the P-state of the video cards while mining, and also after the miner app stops hashing but without closing the miner app....

Typically you see this when:

The line voltage is too low and the PSU is having trouble maintaining at that rate, or the PSU is underrated for the load you are putting on it.
The video cards are overheating

Sometimes its a config issue... but who knows.
