Title: blockchain.info fake transactions
Post by: devilburner on May 23, 2017, 05:13:17 AM
Hey guys. Sorry if the question has been already answered.

Too many of my friends have queued transactions sent from blockchain.info. Its appears in his blockchain explorer, but in other blockchain expolorers like Insight or Blockr.io it is not.
I said to my friends they should export private keys from blockchain.info and send his BTC manually (using Electrum or OmniWallet).

As an example the transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/3033be93f06a94f8b0c3a3d007e8d78b001003c21b49fffe4e002dc9ff1c7881 (https://blockchain.info/tx/3033be93f06a94f8b0c3a3d007e8d78b001003c21b49fffe4e002dc9ff1c7881)
Try to find it using other blockchain explorers. It's weird IMHO

P.S. I'm using Electrum and all the transactions (confirmed or not confirmed) appears in every blockchain explorer instantly.

I know blockchain.info is a buggy wallet and explorer that's why its delayed or off sometimes but It certainly won't create fake transactions .
I don't see any reason on why they will cause they will eventually get found and of course they will lose their users .

You friends transaction has received 7 confirmations already so If I will search it on different block explorers like blocktrail here:
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/3033be93f06a94f8b0c3a3d007e8d78b001003c21b49fffe4e002dc9ff1c7881, It will show up .

simply don't use blockchain.info as block explorer or as a wallet, they are known to have plenty of bugs, i used it in the past but then switched to another wallet and everything works fine for me.

i would not say that it was a fake transactions you iniated, you should have tried to rebroadcast the transaction using push service like

https://blockchain.info/pushtx or others for miners to pick the tx up but looks like it got confirmed anyway.

if it happened once, it may have been because their node had some trouble broadcasting the transaction right away, and as you can see the transaction is already confirmed so it wasn't fake and proves my guess. the node is also a computer, it can crash, slow down, ...

but usually the reason why you don't see a transaction on other places is because they may have rejected the transaction. for example in case it was a double spend, or something they just dropped from their mempool because it exceeded the 72 hours long period without confirmation and since your transaction had 240 s/b it may have been the case.

with that said if the problem is persistent they should change wallet.
