some did reach the value of 1 bitcoin, they were priced more than 1 bitcoin, but only at the beginnign before the first dump, one of these alt was 42 coin, maybe you remembr, another one was the famous zcash, all these coins reached astronomical value much higher than bitcoin when they were launched, and still 42 coin has a value higher than bitcoin

think about it this way.
bitcoin has only 16.5 million coins currently in circulation.
it will have 21 million max.
the demand is increasing day by day by many investors and a lot of businesses all around the world are adopting it as a payment method (despite all the drama).
it has the longest age (8 years)
the most number developers which are pretty good at their job.
it was created with the purpose of being used as a currency not to make money. and the goal was also decentralization.
(i can't remember more at the moment) :P

if you know any coin that has any of these. then yes that coin can reach the stage that someday be as valuable as bitcoin.

yes. i expect several of them to reach bitcoin's current valuation. that's gonna be 1-5 years down the line. and bitcoin will be way, way higher than it is now and so will ethereum and friends.

Well ...
Assuming there will be another BTC at any point in near future then it would be a good idea to buy small amounts of every new coin and leave them in itīs wallet until one (or 2 or a few of them) gets really expensive.  ;)

whats surprising is that it ranked on 335 on coinmarketcap.com  :D can't even see it on the 3rd page. but its value is more than of btc. there use to be XAU which its price equates to the value of GOLD. it was more than $1K. Not sure where it was right now, i think its been swap to XAURUM.

my best bet is the platforms these days like ETH, NEM and waves are going to rocket.

Another altcoin already did it, such as Zcash and his fake hype on the poloniex.

But in the future, there will be no a coin will reach the same place with bitcoin.

Honestly, Adoption is more important than future technology. More adoption means more people are coming for bitcoin. But more future technology can't guarantee more people will be coming for it.

At least the development for the future technology is a rule right now.

You are right mostly, but your forget the most important fact, bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency.
Every coin that was created after inception of bitcoin id not an experiment anymore but  conscious attempt to grab some cake.
Old shitcoins won't be good, ever.
