Title: i have a heck of a good feeling
Post by: jonald_fyookball on May 24, 2017, 02:03:03 AM
even though <<< whoever you think is to blame >>> almost totally fucked up and killed bitcoin,  it seems like we'll be able to move forward.  Great days are ahead.  Main stream hasn't even gotten on board yet.  I'm thinking Bitcoin will be $100k within 10 years.

HODL!!!

What a heck feeling you do have there dude ;D $100k in upcoming 10 years is somehow unrealistic but who knows? No one does really know on whats ahead of us and might reach up the amount you speculated. We dont know if bitcoin will die in 10 years time or become more valuable. Holding is really a good move and accumulate bitcoin as much as we can.

actually nothing is clear now!
price has been rising for a long time now with the need for a bigger correction, and in bitcoin the bull runs never last forever. and as far as the rest of the drama goes, nothing is yet solved or cleared. there is only talk.

Your good feeling will be a reality and many bitcoin holders are very positive to meet the value of bitcoin not just on 100k dollars but on 1 million dollars each. 2017 has been very fruitful due to adoption of two countries namely Japan and Australia and by October the UASF has moved to the activation of a scaled segwit. This will bring bitcoin into a new level this year and will cause its value to spike at 5k$ by the end of the year. Hoping in 10 years your prediction will be a reality.

No one killed bitcoin in fact it was saved from the disease it has in almost 2 years of suffering and that's called arising scaling problem and eventually killed it from that stagnant problem.
Bitcoin simply adopted to the demands of community and with events happening to bitcoin we can now continue our conquest for $500000 in 2030.

Although it seems really unreal I will still be rooting for that.
That is a price that every holder is waiting for. Even though it will be a long ride if there is a chance it could reach that say then why not.
The fight will be to those who want bitcoin down including governments who might do some steps to not allow it to happen.

the correct question is "how many people on the street do you think want to invest in bitcoin"
otherwise many have heard about it, even many have gone and did some research about it but not that many were willing to invest. many are scared of it being unregulated, many scared of it being in a bubble, many fall for the FUD that always exist,....
and that is why the adoption have always been slow.

i think the main point that always seems to be missed, is everyday user adoption.

say to replace cash or credit card, the zero confirmation 'trust' issue needs to be rectified.
other than variations of 'replace by fee', i'm yet to actually see a legitimate double spend, however this is the use case scenario that everyone quotes.

i mean; we all bag out cash/eftpos/card machines, but they connect then and there; do their transaction and it's complete.

i dont see ethel hanging around in the florist waiting for the next block to confirm while patiently holding her petunias.

Mass population will only want to invest in Bitcoins if media and influent people start promoting it (or governments). Biggest part of population are like sheeps leaded by someone who has control over them. It works like this in almost all camps: music, movies, fashion... Just sometimes the establishment loses control over the flock.

i disagree.
the examples you gave are "spending their money" on music, movies, fashion,... and yeah for that they are sheep.
but when it comes to investing their money i have seen people be more careful, although still reckless in some cases. but in total they are mostly scared and not willing to invest when they see the high volatility combined with all the FUD repeating bitcoin is dead, gonna drop, etc.

I am positive Bitcoin shall cross the sky, however to reach a certain number and that to in 10 years is difficult to predict, right now it's easy to day 3k looks a reality at the year end. Meanwhile I'm edging towards the exits once again - heading for literally 99% alts/1% BTC. And the 1% just because of the dust stuck in my wallet. If BIP148 can't sign up enough mining support to provide sane block times come August 1 then BTC is dog meat.

well the world outside of this community doesn't seem to be interested in all the silliness of the block size debate and as we can see they are paying premium fees to continue using bitcoin even though we keep seeing throwaway accounts keep saying bitcoin is dead because the fee is high ;)

$100K in 10 years’ time might be asking too much as there will come a time that the price would reach a maturity stage where it will already stabilize. Also, there will always be periods of dips and corrections along the way and we can’t expect the price to jush push further up without anything that propels it.

At this point everything is in such a weird position that I wouldn't be entirely concerned about Bitcoin hitting $100k within a decade, because if the last two months have taught me anything it's that the market is weird, aggressive and it will make sure to exceed and screw your predictions and estimates.
I wish I was able to predict some of this but truthfully, it's just not accurate.

Not only "spending their money", but a liking question. There are "reputable" agencies, organizations, celebrities saying what is good and what is bad (like Oscar prize says what movies are good, television or radios playing certain musics all day long to spread what musics are good, celebrities advertising products...).

Bitcoin seems risky at first look, but the volatility is only helping as since much time ago the price is constantly increasing and not the opposite.
I don't know from where you are, but if a icon of your country media starts advertising BTC on the televison or even internet I'm sure many people will follow his/her lead.  :D

Yes, bitcoin is trending well, it is trending steady. But, whether it develops, it is always within the law, it will not be able to replace cash, so its value is suppressed.

I think you are little bit more optimistic.Bitcoin has successfully crossed more obstacles in its initial eight years. Now only one problem left. The high transaction fee.Despite high transaction fee, bitcoin is performing well.If it is solved, bitcoin price may go even high.

this really is way off topic here!
all altcoins are in a bubble and most of them are dropping down hard as the whales are dumping them. there are only a couple that are getting pumped at the moment.
and no btc withdrawal is "suspended" anywhere that i know of.

You got the feeling like when you're about to cum?

I bet you did a few times since yesterday the news of agreement came out.

Soon every single altcoins out there will retreat back to their caves of loneliness and Bitcoin will continue hitting and breaking records every day.

I bet none of you really thought about it, more than 10MBTC is in the hands of a few early adopters-miners which leaves us with just about 6M but

That's not enough for millions of people, yes millions because last time I opened my edge browser I could see the CNBC news feed talking about Bitcoin.

Give it 2 more years and see if price isn't rising to $45,000 per coin.

Of course this is good news for bitcoin users if this really happened and bitcoin prices could reach $ 100k even in the next 10 years. Indeed many observers are giving his analysis of the future of bitcoin as a digital currency that certainly has good progress for the future and Of course Supported by the fact development of bitcoin users increasingly rapidly, so it seems not impossible if the price will be achieved within the next 10 years.

That could happen, I believe it. The Bitcoin price surprised me in so far this year, so the next 10 years BTC could have that price easily. Obviously will be a long way to go and with issues that need solving. Many people in this moment are waiting for a correction to enter to game and I think that moment is now, there is no more time to lose

I think the person who continues to hold bitcoin for 10 years is a person who has a strong mentality. You know the price of bitcoin is very high definitely a lot of temptation to sell it because the average of those who hold bitcoin already get profit from it if sell it now.

What a strange statement to making, coming from a BU supporter? I would have thought now that SegWit is gaining momentum, BU supporters will be less optimistic about Bitcoin's future. I have never lost faith in this technology and the people behind it, no matter what side they support. We should all put Bitcoin's interest first, then this will succeed. ^smile^

21 bitcoin would really be a good amount since its 1 in a million partitioned on total supply of bitcoin and when price would come to a point on where it reaches insane amount then many would really be glad specially to those holders of bitcoin. We do really feel good when we do see the price is clinging up and does hurt if it goes the opposite way.

i don't know if this pump is sustainable i feel that if we continue to increase at this rate, there will be a bad big dump after all this, i don't want the same bull run or manipulation, call it what you want, from mtgox era

we can do 10x like that time but returning back to $1k would be a disaster right now, would make people lose confidence on bitcoin even more than in 2013, because the community is now bigger

Well it is happening.  If we look at the coinmarket cap, altcoins are getting greens along with Bitcoin.  In the past months, whenever bitcoin had a rally majority of these altcoin are having red but now seems different.  Majority of them have green and the price keep increasing together with bitcoins.  I think cryptocurrency as a whole got people attention and not only Bitcoin itself.

In as much as I cannot speak for jonald, I do understand an idea of relief, that people are not *forced* on segwit and LN because of artificial block room scarcity.  One can use segwit (and eventually the LN) if one wants to, but one can also keep on transacting in the old-style bitcoin way, on the block chain.  I think the relief of jonald is that bigger blocks are in sight, not so much that segwit gets, or doesn't get, activated.

That said, I still want to see it happening.  In as much as bitcoin is decentralized, and hence nobody colludes with more than 51% of hash rate over any deviation of rules, it should remain immutable.  It can only change, if "enough hash rate colluded over a plan", which, in my book, is centralization.  Which is not impossible.

If you have a list of "20 phone numbers of governors of bitcoin" that you can call, and see if they agree with your plan, you have, essentially, a central governance, not so different from any other hierarchical system with central governance.

It more than what you think bitcoin price will be at half a million as the prediction of ceo of blockchain no one know what the really future of bitcoin but it will be depends on the demand and people who will use bitcoin in the future.

I am thinking the same thing with you op. When people told me in the past that bitcoin price would be hit 2000 dollars i didn't believe that i just felt like that bitcoin would never touch the price well i'm wrong.  However i'm not sure that it could be up untill $100k as you speculate even though in 10 years later. There must be something big that make it hit that amount, i personally predict it price would be 3k dollars in couple of months, but to me 100k dollars in 10 years seriously it's kind of impossible although i'll be happy if it's true. Basically we can't predict the future but bitcoin seems like can be predicted.

We all can not predict it within 10 years bitcoin can reach $ 100k unlikely thing.
In the future there may be more and more digital coin competition so that many other altcoins can exceed the value of bitcoin.
Indeed I also expect the same bitcoin within the next 10 years to increase the price.

I also think that the great things are just coming but 100k USD for 1 bitcoin after 10 years is too much for me and it is not that easy for bitcoin to reach and it will need a lot of years before it gets from that. I think the price after 10 years if the good development will continue would be around 20k USD only and it is more stable than now and people in that time are so happy.

Things on Internet happens very fast. I believe will reach 100k $ in 5-7 years.

100k is a lot, then its good to go all in in bitcoin, sell house, car, boat what you have and buy bitcoins, its cheap now if we can see 100k in 10 years. Someone reminds us couple days aoo with thread bitcoin will be 1 million in next 5-10 years, what is going on?
Little rise and everyone start to talk about some heights, let's wait and see 3000 dollars, step by step is always better.

haha, that is what happens when a big move happens. it doesn't even matter in which direction!
price goes up, then suddenly everyone is "having good feelings" and are signing moon songs.
and then price goes down and everyone is depresses and are calling bitcoin dead!

this is actually one of the many reasons for the big swings. people get too emotional with bitcoin sometimes :)

I dont know if bitcoin can go up that fast in 10 years, but bitcoin really show an impressive movement and the price multiplication is happened every year, if the miners problem and the fee problem could be finished I think it is possible in 10 years

even though <<< whoever you think is to blame >>> almost totally fucked up and killed bitcoin,  it seems like we'll be able to move forward.  Great days are ahead.  Main stream hasn't even gotten on board yet.  I'm thinking Bitcoin will be $100k within 10 years.

HODL!!!

Me too, although I can not be sure how much bitcoin will be worth, but I believe it will continue to increase in the future, a great thing for all bitcoin users.

The issue of miners and fees is being overcome, the heads are choosing the best method, and I hear that they will choose 2mb segwit, I hope what I know is true. Bitcoin will certainly survive for many years to come.

Many positive predictions have been said to bitcoin because the price is keep on increasing, i believe that in 10 years bitcoin is still existing but i doubt that the price will reach $100k however anything is possible to happen so lets just wait.

I'm not really sure but i think there's a probability about it. Like bitcoin had survived for many years till now, and comparing than before, the price is higher and higher. But we can't be sure it'll be $100k within 10 years but if that really happen then it's.... so wow. I'd love to save my bitcoin now and never sell it until 10 years again lol. But everything can happened who knows maybe tomorrow bitcoin price will drop drastically and it'll be the end? Although i hope it won't ever happen.

It is still a long way to go 10 years. But by the way, the price of bitcoin is going further, it might peaked at $10,000. Such price can be reach if other nation joins Japan and make bitcoin a legal tender on their country. You just have your smartphones with you if you want to buy locally, scan it and then its done. Mass adoption will really put bitcoin price into this new levels in the future.

If this continue in the market the bitcoin will really ruin the market and no alt coins can surpass the bitcoin and this 100k$ is not possible at all with a long time of pumping in the future but we doesnt really know maybe new technology can be discover in the future and make cryptocurrency dump.

It's still long way to go so don't expect 10000$ over night but we have the reason to be optimistic and hope this trend will continue. I just hope this isn't someone's game and artificial baloon that was planed to burst with some aims that we common users can't figure out.

Well, I'm really happy to read this, it means that bitcoin prices will not go down again. correct? If true bitcoin price will be $5k at the end of the year, this makes me more enthusiasm and will be even more serious to get bitcoin then keep it. ;D

With a rise this far, mostly everybody will be feeling good and more optimistic about it. After this, I feel/hope it will rise more ;D

@OP, Everybody is amazed to see Bitcoin this high, but being too much optimistic is nearly unrealistic.
$100K for 1 BTC, I don't think so it will be possible, though nothings impossible. But Economy and Technology is changing every second, so it will be kind of unrealistic what you stated.

So bitcoin needs at least 10k of dollars every year to achieve that.
Maybe if we reach 10k before the end of 2017 then i might really believe and get wowed by it.
But for now I just eant to be realistic. It is like hitting the moon and might be a dangerous number for bitcoin afterwards.

Due to present trends now everybody is talking in millions and 100 k. In 10 years it may happen and maybe not. It is such a long time. Any speculation about the price of bitcoin after 10 years is mere a lie as for now. Here people are not able to speculate the price of next week. 10 years is something impossible.

No one knows the future and as human beings, we have limitations for accurate predictions of anything. One of the best possible ways to predict future is to analyse and understand the past performance of something and when we do it for bitcoin, I see something magical in next few years. To be brutally honest, I think the average price will keep fluctuating but the growth is unstoppable.

I cannot speculate abut the price at all but one thing is for sure. Bitcoin will be around for a long time and will be a household name very soon as families embrace the currency and technology as part of their every day life. Some will adopt it as a currency, others as a saving tool and it may inspire others to get involved in the technical aspect.

Hope you are right about it,
But for me $100k in the next 10 years seems so unrealistic/

its less than 2 orders of magnitude.    How many people on the street out of 100 do you think know about bitcoin, let alone have any

the correct question is "how many people on the street do you think want to invest in bitcoin"
otherwise many have heard about it, even many have gone and did some research about it but not that many were willing to invest. many are scared of it being unregulated, many scared of it being in a bubble, many fall for the FUD that always exist,....
and that is why the adoption have always been slow.

The people on the street might get invested not knowing, but rather indirect by funds, stock companies or things like Mobi from BTCC or just trackers or derivatives. This is already in the making.

Who almost totally fucked and killed Bitcoin ? I don't know about this ??? ? This is why the price has gone crazy ? I was wondering that.

What are you talking about ? Bitcoin increased by 10x since last year. Why do you even buy Bitcoin if that's how you feel ? Sell them all to me .
