Title: Sapphire 7950 card test Post by: massnerder on May 02, 2013, 04:30:23 AM OK So I am building a mining rig for cryptocoins, ltc and btc pretty much. Don't know much about others but may get into them later.
I am following a template I found online with an AMD Sempron and gigabyte board with 2 riser cables and a total of 4 graphic cards. I got the board and cards, but have to wait another week or so on the cpu. So I have taken out my 6770 from my main pc and switched it for one of the 7950 cards waiting to go into my quad gpu setup. I have driver package 12.3 and included sdk, win8x64, and guiminer / scrypt. I have my clock and memory set to 1100/1500 with +7% power in catalyst. intensity 17 thread conc 21712 worksize 256 vectors / threads both 1.... What is the highest sustained temp I would want to see? It is going to be in an open crate with a fan over it eventually so I am sure I will be able to keep it at an ok level after the real rig is built, but for now / testing / running it until I can build the quad setup I have it in a case. With the case open and fan at 60% It stays around 78-80 degrees. I expect to keep temps lower than that when it is in the real mining rig with a fan but is that an ok temp to run it at 24/7? I don't think I would want it to run any higher than 80... unless that's not a problem. ??? I am getting slightly over 500 mh/s and kh/s mining btc and ltc, and thought that I should be in the area of 600, but I am using guiminer. I keep hearing cgminer without the frontend is better but will it really make that big of a difference or should I be adjusting my settings first? Title: Re: Sapphire 7950 card test Post by: qubic on May 02, 2013, 04:44:17 AM I use cgminer and MSI 7950 to mine Litecoin, after a lot of test, the device can get over 550 kh/s , here is my configuration of cgminer
cgminer --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 960-1020 --scrypt --thread-concurrency 24000 --intensity 20 --worksize 256 --url stratum+tcp://stratum.give-me-ltc.com:3333 -u *.* -p * Title: Re: Sapphire 7950 card test Post by: massnerder on May 02, 2013, 04:58:35 AM I lied ... I am getting about 550mh on btc and 500 kh with ltc (forgot to change my btc worksize to 256)
I actually got lower rates in the 450 range when I had intensity at 20, but I was using guiminer and other settings were different so I may have to try your flags out and see if I do better, Thanks Title: Re: Sapphire 7950 card test Post by: KrLos on May 02, 2013, 05:05:27 AM this are my configs on cgminer, with a 7950 saphire vaporX, use them as your own risk cause i had a lot of OC here, also getting 600 kh/s with these settings mining ltc
Code: cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.give-me-ltc.com:3333 -u **** -p *** -Q 0 -s 60 -E 120 -I 20 --thread-concurrency 24000 --shaders 1792 --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 2 --no-submit-stale -v 1 --gpu-fan 65-75 --auto-fan --temp-target 75 --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1475 -g 1 Title: Re: Sapphire 7950 card test Post by: massnerder on May 02, 2013, 05:10:45 AM Thanks, what about the temperatures? is 80 ok running it 24/7? what temp range do you see with this card at those hashrates?
