Woah! Good for them and for those holding on to their bitcoins, I'm sure those who are holding on to their altcoins are panic selling as we speak 'cause I'm pretty sure it's dumping hard.

It is unbelievable that such price was only in South Korea. I suppose the price should be the same over the world, and yes, it can be some little difference on exchangers, because of they set the price themselfs.

The spread between South Korean and the western exchanges too huge, this is a good trading arbitrage for those that have huge fund for trading

How easy it is to open the btc trading account in S. Korea exchange and amount withdrawal must be taking lot of time? I don't think that will be so easy to do arbitrage between say S. Korean exchange and bit stamp or some local exchange. Just like in CHina withdrawal of your amount is not easy it takes days before you get it so you lose out the opportunity actually.

It's crazy to see the price increased so much. I predict bitcoin price will be over $2000 at the end of this year, now not even halfway through the year and the price almost hit $3000 at some place.

do we have some numbers! i can not find anything on South Korean exchanges online in the popular stats reporting websites.

i am looking for both price and volume coming from there not just random saying it is high!

I feel it is too risky as all the exchanges around the globe are moving so fast and the convergences of prices are taking place time to time but few Asian markets are leading in between times.

I speculate bitcoin prices are moving toward $5000 levels as short term target (long term target must be $10000 by end of this year) so simply trading bitcoin itself will be more profitable rather than getting struck with arbitrage trading. I did read there are many arbitrage opportunities are being spot out, but I guess at this time, we do not need to risk into it.

The price of bitcoin still increasing this day and maybe soon the price what you mention $2,850 i think sooner the price can be touch in the price soon..
Since more people knows about bitcoin and also korea we should expect more price increase sooner..
The only people who are lucky are people who holding lots of bitcoin unlike small holders like me i can only get small benefits and i couldn't imagine that the price can be increase more..

Korea is irrelevant for people outside Korea. They have strict KYC/AML rules. The price difference exist because moving money in/out is hard.

usually when prices rise up a lot like this somewhere in the world that has never been in the news, that means it had a sudden new adoption.

these places usually have a small exchange platform with small orderbooks, with mostly small orders in it. and when there is a sudden "bitcoin awakening" in these countries, people go to first place they can buy it and because it was small the prices jump up fast with the volume spike.

We are seeing something very good, who would say that the prediction of some analysts would become reality, not that I am belittling the analysts, but because so many times they failed in their forecasts that even I stopped believing their predictions

The differences in prices like always comes from a supply and demand, while technically you can buy and sell bitcoin anywhere in the world, if there is not much bitcoin to go around then it makes sense the price gets higher, in localbitcoins the price are even higher since all of those people trying to sell there are traders and want to obtain a premium over the current price and if many people want to buy at once that only makes the price even higher than it is.

The price of bitcoins have reached more than 3352$ in india which is way beyond the international market .it is due to the high demand of bitcoins in the indian market likewise as is is happening in south korea.
