Title: Exchange cryptopia www.cryptopia.co.nz/ Careful
Post by: R2-D2R2 on May 26, 2017, 11:24:39 AM
Just a little warning, some cryptopia users cannot access their btc they have deposited on the site.
I myself sent some there and  12 hour later no way to access the btc deposited.

Thanks for your post about cryptopia. Quick question for you though... Is your BTC just not confirmed yet or does the blockchain show it as a confirmed transaction and you just cant use/spend/withdraw the deposit?

I literally just made an account on cryptopia yesterday so catching this post is something of interest to me. I have not deposited anything yet but I will dig a little deeper now before doing so. I look forward to hearing your response.

Cryptopia looks like a great scam exchange,so many "weird" ativity, specially from tha time they want to list coin only by paytopya.

Same issue, can't access to my btc balance on site.

although i don't really trade there but i like their features, the place looks nice it would be a shame if they turn out to be a scam.

have you tried contacting support or posting on their topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1669443.0
this may simply be a wallet maintenance.

It's only 12 hours,is your deposit confirmed in the blockchain you did not mentioned that in your post and cryptopia has a very good support team have you contacted support about this issue,if you fail to do this things, then you are either an idiot or just want to ruin Cryptopia's reputation.

I've used Cryptopia a number of times without issue. I never had a delay in confirmation longer than I had at any other exchange. As others suggested, lookup your transaction in the block chain explorer to see if it has enough confirmations, double-check the destination address, etc.

It would be helpful if you posted the TXID of your transactions.
Did you add enough fees? Do you have confirmations on that transaction?

That said, I've read multiple stories that their support is really terrible, that should be enough reason not to use them.
Why use them in the first place? what do they offer that Bittrex or Poloniex do not offer? IMO their UI is really terrible.

I also had the same problem with Cryptopia.co.nz — I deposited some coins, and they got confirmed, but nothing showed up in my balance. I have contacted them about it, and they responded in like 10 minutes referring that the issue is on my side, not theirs.
I've heard the opposite about their support...
It's not that terrible, at least not like YoBit. I would give them 5 out of 10 because they actually look into issues, not just ignoring everyone.

contact their support they are very talkative, i never had any problem with cryptopia i can use my bitcoin there and i can both deposit and make withdrawal of any amount, some times can be that deposit are not credited but i opened a ticket and everything was fine again

i can't see anything scammy, yobit is much more scammy and shady with its fake bot pumping 0.01 volume on random coins

Just contact their support here: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/UserSupport

They respond instantly and they will sort out the issue if your transaction has been confirmed. They resolved issues very fast compared to other exchanges which is why I too prefer them over others.

I am a recent user of Cryptopia and everything is fine. I can use my BTC as well other crypto without problem. I think the OP is in hurry but forgot to tell us the real problem is his transaction is still unconfirmed LOL. It doesn't mean in any case this exchange is a scam. And about their support: I had a little problem while creating my account, contacting them over Twitter, it got resolved without 1 hour... I didn't excepted to get a help so fast

Sometimes I just wonder what people gain by pulling down another one's project without even fully understanding the whole issue surrounding an event at the same time not fully exploring all the available opportunities to rectify the situation at hand. It might be they are experiencing difficulties as some people have rightly used them without any difficulty till now. Even the thread is not necessary until the option of support has been exhausted.

We had some unfortunate downtime earlier while making some infrastructure changes - Cryptopia had a hardware scale out planned for the last half of this month, but then CHC MN happened, and we're now cramming a week-long implementation plan into a weekend. We were pretty well prepared to go forward with this, but doing so on a production environment under a heavy load has been an interesting task for sure.

We took a bit longer to answer some of the influx of tickets that came in during this time, and I'm happy to say we have 3 new support staff starting in the next 2 weeks to make sure we maintain our normal answer-you-on-the-same-day level of support.

I've been trading there and never had a problem, but if for large funds I prefer to trade in poloniex or bittrex, there may be address writing errors, I often make mistakes writing the address, when I check with notepad there is something different on the wallet address, try to check again the problem, these few days i deposit btc in poloniex, and until now has not entered as well, After I search the problem it turns out the transaction in blockchain has not been confirmed, so I do not blame poloniex..  ;D

Now after roughly 20 hours of waiting i still have 0 Balance on my cryptopia wallet. Support didnt answer yet either. Transaction has more than 400 Comfirmations, and obviously it has to be an issue of their side. If I lose the money i deposit there then 1/10 cryptopia exchange. we will see what support writes, incase he is willing to reply me.
Cryptopia have a good background in the previous, also I used the same exchange and I can't experience any problems. Maybe you used wrong procedure or else traffic of sending amount in this wallet will affected your deposits. There's a lot of aspects we need to consider since this problems are resolvable.

I could say that Cryptopia is on the top 3 altcoin exchanges when it comes to popularity, volume and services that includes bittrex and polo. If there are something that people should be careful about then it should be on how they make transactions and not Cyptopia because I'm also one of the people who can prove that its exchannge is very trusted and very safe.

i wanted to withdraw ethereum since yesterday, and i cant. already contacted the support. they told me because ethereum blockchain have problems etc. but i cant even cancel my transaction.... but its not logic because there is no transaction id. i wrote them ones more telling them other exchanges dont have problems with ethereum, so why its an ethereum  blockchain issue? im losing money because meanwhile ethereum value goes down. so i think this scammers just using your coins for trading. cryptopia really sux! because if theyr work with ur coins, and making a bad trade and lose, they will convert in real scam! its fked up and support is wack

Deposited ETH on cryptopia 2 days ago. The transaction was succesfull (not pending, not something else) . It still doesn't show up in my account, I messaged support, they gave me an answer that ethereum blockchain has problems and that's why my transactions is pending, they didn't even look at the hash transaction that I gave them and told me to get back at them if the transaction is succesfull and it still doesn't show up in my account :) . They could clearly see that the transaction was succesfull and not pending because I gave that to them in the message. After that I opened a new support ticket saying that they missunderstood my problem and my transaction was succesfull, still no answer for almost 1 day...

I placed a ticket with Cryptopia 17th Jan regarding the fact that a transfer of PACCOIN from my desktop wallet to my Cryptopia wallet remained unconfirmed (0/200) for a long time. After that I saw that the wallet was put into maintenance (still is...).
My ticket no is: #152519 - Transaction still unconfirmed

Since I have still not had any response from support, could you help me with below questions:

1) When wallet maintenance is lifted, will my transaction resume and the coins be transferred to my Cryptopia wallet? I have close to 4000 confirmations when checking the PACCOIN blockchain explorer...
2) How long do you expect the wallet maintenance to last?

I think cryptopia is just struggling to keep up with demand for their services.

I recently wrote about the lack of exchanges out there, and how this impacts on existing exchanges and their ability to meet expectations. Have a look if you like:

OP's deposit issue seems to be solved, as we didn't see any post here anymore. So I think, it was just slow network (fees too low?). Even if Cryotopia would be overloaded, BTC generally should arrive, because deposits automatically processed.

Transaction was already confirmed and completed in the blockchain. Also my source exchange also confirmed the transfer is already complete.

6 hours later, amount is not yet reflected in my cryptopia balance.  ??? :-\

Never had this issue with my other 3 exchanges.. if only the coins I intend to trade is in my other exchanges, I would have not deposited it in cryptopia.

Will wait what will happen tomorrow as I've already created a support ticket.

Decided to use Cryptopia because some rare coins are only available to buy there.
Deposited NEO, transaction came through and I could clearly see it via explorer - gas was accumulating and explorer balance showed my coins.
However it took more than 8 hours for my NEO to finally appear.
I used Binance and Kucoin to transfer different coins before and this was my longest waiting time  ::)

12hrs and my BTC withdrawal still not confirmed.

They give an excuse its network congestion or fee price, well why does my kucoin to binance BTC transfer go through in 30 min?

Cryptopia is a scam exchange I would stay away.

oh wow! 12 hours and not confirmed? That's a nerve wrecking experience...
