Title: First 24 gpu setup Post by: mdizzlebizzle on May 29, 2017, 08:18:07 PM Hey guys!
Pretty new to mining, but I felt confident enough to expand my first 6 gpu setup (sitting on top of the rack) to a 24 gpu setup and wanted to share my work in progress: http://imgur.com/YlV2oHI http://imgur.com/a/3QOGz http://imgur.com/rVRUp7l http://imgur.com/kOKjYFv I decided to mine eth/zec with 24 gtx 1070 on 4 z170a mobos due to the fact that all the rx cards are either sold out or ridiculously over priced. I can share more information for those interested. Some things I learned: 1) the heat generated from a 6 gpu rig is manageable inside a bedroom 2) the heat generated from a 24 gpu rig is not manageable inside a bedroom ;D :D 3) can not pull more than 15A from the wall socket My next steps include: 1) move the unit to the garage to create a better intake/exhaust system; or 2) move the unit into a small outdoor shed 3) electrical work Any advice with the electrical work (or anything else)? I know each rig (holding 6 gpus) pulls around 7-7.5A and 700-850W, so I figured it be smarter to have a dedicated breaker for this project. Also, how do you guys remotely monitor/manage your rigs? I wanted to use simplemining.net but it looks like it's not available for gtx cards. Thanks!! Title: Re: First 24 gpu setup Post by: philipma1957 on May 29, 2017, 08:38:29 PM nice neat look
advice do not use the ac it is costly blowing air out a window is key can you put 2 of these in your garage? use them for exhaust. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Flow-1600-CFM-Power-Gable-Mount-Attic-Fan-EGV6/205924917 next msi afterburner is your friend. so do you use it and set tdp to 70% zec settings tdp 70% core 100+ mem -100 fan 75% manual the above are pretty good for 1070's you can drop to 60% even 50% hash rate will drop but it will help with temps. |
