Title: Any site still giving away bitcoins?
Post by: fajrero on May 30, 2017, 06:22:27 AM
I am working on making my first purchase of Bitcoin (via Coinbase), but don't currently possess any at the moment.

According to one book I have read, a few websites would essentially give away bitcoins to help those new to the Bitcoin world. Unfortunately, the two sites given are no longer active.

Am I too late to the Bitcoin party to get any Bitcoin from anywhere? Before I make my purchase via Coinbase(planning on buying 1BTC), I'd like to experience receiving, sending, spending, etc... a little bit and get familiar with how my wallet program (Electrum) functions.

If there are no websites that provide this service, would anyone be willing to send a Satoshi, or two? Or, would those get eaten up as fees by miners?

Thanks for any help/advice,

Faj

If you want to gain experience, i'd either suggest looking up a good faucet rotator, or install a testnet wallet and claim a couple testnet BTC.

Faucet rotators can probably be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=212.0
But fair warning: if you use faucets to collect dust inputs to your wallets, you might end up paying a fee that is higher than your wallet balance in order to spend these dust inputs!!!

Also, it's far more profitable to get a minimum wage job and convert 1 or 2 bucks and hour to BTC compared to claiming from faucets...

install a testnet wallet and claim a couple testnet BTC.
~

it is worth mentioning that TestNet coins have no value, and are used by developers mostly to test bitcoin protocol,...
and please send the amount back to the TestNet faucet from which you claimed it from after you are done testing so they can continue functioning for others who want to test.

The value and transactions fees have risen so much that faucets are nearly impossible to use for free bitcoin anymore.

If you really want to test out on mainnet, you could also buy a smaller amount (e.g. 50 usd worth) first to play around before you make the big purchase.

No, theres no site giving their bitcoin for free. You need to work for it. You can do faucets, ptc sites and other way to earn it. But don't waste your time to them. Better focus in this forum. There's a lot of opportunity here which can give you good profit. Bounties, sigcamps and social media campaigns are common source of income here. Try them.

Faucets are the simplest and easiest to find out about many people said it already. What about the gambling section of this forum ? There many give aways and promotions free rolls etc. There also free give aways for some altcoins bit please support them then don't just dump. We don't need dumpers. Maybe a revenue exchange site ? You must do a little worth for it though.

You can get 0.001 btc for signing up on Unocoin. You need to verify your id there in order to withdraw that amount. Currently i dont have the coupon code, but i will search for it and will send you the coupon via pm. Its a great giveaway for begineers.

The price of bitcoin has gone so high and the transaction fees also risen. Getting free bitcoins is no longer feasible given the high transaction fees. Whatever number of bitcoins you may get, it might be difficult to transfer them to your wallet because of the transaction fees. The only option in getting free bitcoins is to be patient and collect them for a longer time. When you have accumulated enough, it will be easier to transfer them to your wallet.

facute giving free Bitcoin, But facute and PTC site are called waste of time. you cant earn more Bitcoin doing facute and PTC site. Stay this forum, try to better quality post, You can earn some money from this forum doing simple task.

Faucet earning is consider as micro earnings in bitcoin. You can able to make some satoshis only for a day but if you are involved in signature designing and front end development project. You can get into the project. Get the proper reference if you are in low rank and try to explore more bitcoin related investments to make the bitcoin.

You could get some satoshis out of some faucets, but the use of those satoshis will be limited by the big miner fee, it is better for you to first make a small purchase of bitcoin  in order to test how to send and receive bitcoins.

Indeed, it never hurts to try free rolls if you want a chance to win a little something in your spare time.

if you are involved in signature designing and front end development project. You can get into the project. Get the proper reference if you are in low rank and try to explore more bitcoin related investments to make the bitcoin.

Maybe I will make some free signature designs sometime and post a tip link,  I've not made signatures in ages but I used to enjoy doing them :)

There are so many ways to earn in this community and with bitcoin, it all depends on your imagination and motivation, giving people what they need or doing something you enjoy and seeing if you can make a return.

There are still sites that's still giving free bitcoin although the payment for every minute is quite low so dont expect to much in it. First you need to open a new tab and type google.com then type Best faucet sites im sure there will be thousands of or millions pick the first one or whatever you like and after you'll find great faucet sites and ptc sites like moonbit.com or bitsforclicks. You can also install electrum wallet just download the software then install it in your pc then generate an address boom done. The question is after you've receive your bought bitcoins what will you do to it. ? I highly suggest to learn trading.

No, theres no site giving their bitcoin for free.

I suppose this is technically true, but FreeBitco.in comes damn close. We're paying interest on your balance over 0.0003BTC and we pay it out DAILY!    So if you want to earn a 4% annual rate for doing nearly nothing, use us. No other bitcoin wallet is offering such a deal.   And we even pay 25% commission on the interest your referrals earn!

There were lots of faucets some time ago, but now, because of high fees micro-payments are not feasible anymore. So, many faucets closed and sooner or later all of them are going to cease their activites.

I don't think it's possible for someone to send you 1 or 2 satoshi , as the fees for transactions have a lot more zeros added to them :) so basically it's not worth it.
You can try some faucets but even in them you need to acquire a number of satoshi to be able to withdraw it to your wallet , but you can do this in a couple of days.
If you want to check some of these faucets check my signature , I have there around 4 faucets that will make the payments. Good luck

In the earlier days when there were free bitcoin giveaways, you didn't really get much anyways. With the current withdrawal fees, even if there are still freebies, you'd be left with nothing after deducting the fees. Try signature campaigns. You learn about different coins by reading up on them so it's also a good way for you to get into crypto., Just choose one that attracts your attention the most, follow their steps and you'll get free coins.

Many cranes just changed the currency. Now more and more taps are offering to earn altcoins, especially ETH
This is a good alternative, thanks to which the sites continue to work

You are better off doing bounties for new coins than trying to fill out captchas for faucets and PTC sites. A lot of bounties had different ways of earning their coins...social media, newsletter, translations, signatures.

Those ways are the best selected ways to earn freebies as we knew that new project will allow bounty hunters to grab some free coins coming out from new projects, it can exchange to btc and if you are wiser enough never to dump right away wait for some time since good project might spike really big.

Trust me. Even though bitcoin is alot higher now in price, Bitcoin and other crypto are still VERY VERY young. For now, I suggest trying out faucets (you can google that on your own); and while you're at it, stay active here in this forum. After a while you will be eligible to join ad campaigns wheread you can earn a bit more bitcoin. You get knowledge, you get bitcoin. Win-win.

The site is not old. The value of a bitcoin is changing every day, every hour. It is impossible to update the amounts as often.
There you can find a note: "Rewards per claim on some Faucets may change, depending on Bitcoin price change."
Which sites no longer exist or are scam? I think that there only one site "4BC Network" is going down for maintenance, but not a scam.
