Title: Where / How can I download historical prices of Alts into an Excel Spreadsheet
Post by: jdlr on May 30, 2017, 09:56:49 AM

How can I get it the prices into an excel sheet with the date of each price.

Is there some kind of website where I can download ?

coimarketcap shows last 7 days only, and it is not detailed enough.

Some of you might have a ready made API or smth they use to do that, pls share, as Ive been looking for sometime and couldnt find.

Bounty available for whoever is helpful

thanks

coimarketcap shows last 7 days only, and it is not detailed enough.

Detailed historical price data requires storage === costs money.

Otherwise:

Navigate to https://coinmarketcap.com, select “Tools” drop-down menu, click on “Historical Snapshots”, click on any date, import the HTML table to Excel.

https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/

Cheers

Hi all,
you could indeed connect Excel via VBA to any of the online available APIs. It's work-in-process for me:
I am working on an Excel/VBA tool for e.g. Kraken, BTC-e and Poloniex in this project: https://github.com/krijnsent/crypto_vba
Getting data from e.g. min-api.cryptocompare.com is on my ToDo list. What data are you looking for? Historical rates? Daily/hourly/monthly? High-Low-Open-Close-Volume? Per exchange or just one exchange?
Cheers,
Koen
