Title: hardware wallet help?
Post by: diggerdugg on May 30, 2017, 03:00:30 PM
I've been looking into hardware wallets for security, and find a lot of good reviews on the Ledger Nano S, but it only hold a few of the coins I have.  can anyone recommend other hardware wallets that are reliable and good for other altcoins?
Thanks

Ledger is great wallet indeed. It's compact and easy to use (I have one) and cheap. Other popular HW wallet supporting altcoins is keepkey but I have no experience with so can't tell you more.

The Ledger Nano S supports quite a bit of altcoins and probably more than most other hardware wallets do. Unfortunately, you aren't gonna find support for obscure altcoins or less popular ones. Although, it is probably possible for the altcoin developer to built support for hardware devices into their wallet software if they get enough demand.

There is no so much hardware wallets for alts because there is so much less demand. Alts are worth little often, so why developing hardware wallet for hundred bucks, when alt is worth $0.00000001 ;).
I would read about computer security and its even better than hardware wallet because free.
