Title: From $25 to about $200. My most challenging Trade so far
Post by: Ucy on May 31, 2017, 10:53:16 AM
Trading cryptocurrency is awesome stuff but very very scary. Believe me this thing can ruin you if you don't have a strong heart. Trading Altcoin is definitely not recommended for people with history of heart attack especially  if you're day trading. I have two price notification apps, man those things nearly killed me. I ended up disabling notifications for all the coins am holding except Bitcoin

Ripple was my most challenging Trade & most rewarding. Ethereum was the easiest. My first Trade ever was April this year. I started with Ethereum at $45 sold at about $100 with just $25.

I already withdrew some Bitcoin from my poloniex account twice otherwise I would be worth $232 now.
My aim now is to hit $500 before the end of this year, so help me God.

Hope this inspires you to start trading no matter how small

it is great, isn't it. specially these days.
but it takes a lot out of you. i am mostly day trading altcoins, or generally joining the pumps and jumping out of the train before it reaches the destination. but that also takes a lot of time and has lots of stress. i usually give it up but the profit and my greed brings me back 8)

the alerts are good though. may i know what are you using?

It is a good move to start trading. You have tremendous potential. My advice do not be afraid to use more money in trading. You will get a satisfactory result if you can do it right. Use all the money you have, but leave some to be on guard if there is something undesirable.

Guys is there any highly successful trader around doing like a trading spreadsheet, like betting groups used to do? He makes a table in which he says what he buys every day and basically what's the risk level of each investment, so people can make up their mind whether they want to follow his moves or not.

Nothing will go wrong my friends. Please experiment with trading it definitely worthwhile . It very hurting to see people search desperately to earn online while stuff like Steemit, Bitcointalk & Altcoin Trading exist. Unfortunately Most of the online job seekers end up investing in scam.
Try researching deep into trading before investing your hard earned money you will be fine.

Trading is all about patience the only problem most of us face is we get nervous and in order to prevent further loss we sell low. The only thing we should remember in trading is stick to a target. For example if you bought at 100$ and your goal is to sell at 150$ wait for it i can assure you it will hit , i mean in most of the big currencies like dash , ltc with high volume trading. Shitcoins can take a while or maybe never recover but trading is all about risking.

Your submission is actually correct as even me I am just trying to lay my hands on some trading activities in which I can relate with what you're saying there. Men it really needs some heavy hearts to make some decision whether it's to buy or to sell but what I have discovered is to listen to your guts when its telling you to buy go ahead and at the same time telling you to sell. But if it tells you to slow down, do some findings before going ahead, I tell you that's the best way to go.

What a story you have there and seems like a road to success right now. I'll be watching this thread.

I similarly just recently started trading, around just this January. I didn't have the same luck as you though, as I was really just a newbie with no clue on what I am doing. So in the end I just ended up losing 25% of my original investment. Though right now I invested in ETH and did quite good on it which could probably get back my losses.

I wish you luck my friend, I will similarly aim to x20 my original funds too.

it is because trading is not for everyone. it is not at all an easy thing to do. if they could make money for a year then they are a successful trader not if they could make money in a couple of trades. that is why people stay away from trading because they are the second thing, they lose money in long term.
so they go for a more guaranteed method, a job.
and the altcoin market is never kind to the newbies.

Nice inspirational story. I do not keep track of how much I made from trading. But I am sure it cost me a lot to learn. Even now, I still make noob mistakes like getting in on hype and ending up a bag holder. But I am quite sure I am on profit because of some altcoins I bought that made me some x20 profit. If I may just add, you also need patience in trading. Sometimes the coins may not move in a while but you have to be patient to wait for the devs to make some progress and the boom, the coin price explodes and your profit.

That was a nice share :)  I hope you hit your target of $500.  It is actually challenging to trade with small amounts and be able to multiply it to 4 folds and now your are targeting to make it 20 folds.  Well, if you managed to buy XRP when it was around less than 200 satoshi, you could have been rejoicing with 100 times return since XRP reached more than 20k satoshi .

It is great that you learned ablut the trading ethereum is my first too whwni start fromteading but when i learned about how to trade prefectly even in short term of trading it will make you more happy when you do when you are about to make a profit about half of bitcoin even in short term of payment you can make it. By looking for a potential coin that will increase price that fast.

This is so inspirational. I have been trading for 5 years and I know exactly how challenging it is to trade with such a small account. You get eaten by fees and the spread in trading so multiplying your money from 25 into 200 is extremely impressive. I hope you hit your target of 500! it seems like you know what you're doing. good job

it is good to have targets in life when it comes to money. i have been doing it for a couple of years now. although in trading i can't really say i am setting any kind of targets because of the very unpredictable nature of it and also the fact that (alt least for me) trading takes a lot of time and spending that much time on trading is not possible for me these days although i am mostly missing out on many good pumps.

for bigger markets like bitcoin you need to learn how trading works. the technical analysis is also helpful.
for altcoin trading the best thing to do is to watch the market for pumps and get in before the hype and sell on top.

This feelings are normal if you dont have enough experience in crypto trading field. With good plan you dont even need to stare charts and check prices on every 15 minutes. But only thing matters you earned something from this activity. I advice you next time dont even think about your last position. Just set up your platform,buy/sell whichever market you want and forget about it. Stop loss or take profit will do it's job.Good luck :)

I am in around $400 loss with Ripple but I am holding them strongly and today XRP got green candles so I am quite sure I will be in some +ve within next few days. Holding your alts and buying more during correction is best and easiest trading strategy anyone can follow. Congratulation on your trading profit...  ;)

Eventhough you may have certain experience on trading but still you cannot eliminate the fear of lossing since we never know what will be the movement of the coin we desired to hold and also you are right in some instance since we should be knowledgable so that our fear will be lessen aswell we should make sure that we are investing on potential alts that has been listed on top 30 on coinmarket cap since for me that is my bases on potential alt to be hold. And my Habits in trading is I always secured my capital and the profit is been rerolled so that I will not be hurt for big loss occuring on its bad flactuation.

Unfortunately it looks like the blockchain tech surge is finally reaching its peak.  To be honest it was just empty speculation - you could have literally picked any coin in existence and held it for a couple weeks and you would have more than doubled your money.  Even the most obscure shitcoins in existence have got pumped, all at the same times.

Christ, the Internet is weird.

Anyway, good luck OP.  Don't get caught up with all the high gains - they can't last forever.  And make sure that a lot of your profit is realised, in case something bad happens.

It's a risky game you're playing.  Just make sure it's based on skill rather than luck.

1. I don't agree it has reached the peak. Yes, this was a peak but there will be others.

2. I agree this peak will mislead people to think trading is easy. All the coins (almost) went so high, even silly ones. So maybe in peaks, it is good to buy cheaper coins and sell and stop and wait for the next peak:)

3. Always keep profits, and expect to fail at some point:)

actually i think the risk of what i am doing is less than investing and holding longer term. for that a lot of things can go wrong in altcoins. they are so susceptible to manipulation and big dumps by their whales. specially if a big news about bitcoin comes out.
and when i say i am joining the pumps i mean i am going in only if it is early on in the pumping process not when it is all pumped and reached the highest possible.

If you think winning is stressy, than never ever baghold. but you will, everybody bagholds once. you will almost lose your mind. those things every trader goes through in the beginning. when you are more expirienced your heart barely will acelerate anymore.
and: never ever, ok perhaps once in a while, "trade" your sleep for trading.

This is true, patience is really important. Also, time really can help for long term trade. But trade only with known coins or at least those that are top 10 in coinmarketcap so that it can be stable.

To OP, you are doing well, :) Keep up the good work. Really it is very exciting and thrilling in cryptocurrency trading especially when whales are active.

You have actually missed the good entry point for ripple which was around 9000 satoshi few days ago. I have bought few at that level and already in profit but I am just willing to sell them at atleast 18000 satoshi, I have gone through few technical analysis for ripple and all of them are suggesting above 20000 market price by end of june.

I was into Forex trading, i had loses more than profits, my account eventually got wiped out, I never recovered. Though Cryptocurrency fluctuates alot, there is hardly complains about small traders account being wiped out. Worst still profit from Forex is small.

Great profit. The problem with day trading if you are weak hearted comes when you have serious money invested. Although trading IS NOT gambling im making a comparison. You go in a gambling site and you play with the faucet money you make a lot of moves, if you actually put money wich i dump i think i would have an heart attack:)

Good trades!

You need to pay every school, so don`t regret for your loses, be grateful for what you have learned from that. Try to apply that experience and knowledge on trading with alt-coins.
I don`t think that trading with alt-coins is harder then to trade on forex, in my case is different. With alt-coins you can trade daily, on concentrate on holding, both ways can make you nice profit if you catch a nice train, and trains in alt world are often.

I think you are stressing out a lot because you are focused on day trading,i would say invest when there is a small correction and then wait for sometime a you will hit the target,to be frank it is the best market for day trading and there are several coins which makes me more than what you earn and it is really easy to hit the $500 mark if you are able to find these coins which are more volatile.

Making money in Forex is extremely difficult. I live in Canada and the financial requirements to trade FX is insane, its truly a system catered to the rich. Altcoins are so much easier to profit off of. Firstly, the price movements are a lot bigger. in forex, the spreads between some currency pairs will eat away your profits. with higher price moves, you will lose less of your hard earned profits due to spread. 2nd, the fx market is filled with established players who have a huge edge over you. Altcoins are a lot more predictable in terms of technical analysis. If you have to choose between FX and trading altcoins, altcoins all the way.

I totally agree. I don't a regular person would find it easy to forex trading much morr for starters who doesn't have a big capital. Altcoins gives chance to people like us to earn nit just a decent profit but in time to earn big. You don't even need to have a largr capital to start and with right research to make timely decisions, you'd be earning quite well in a shorter amount of time

Good for you and hope you hit your target too. I have been doing the same thing with a much lower capital. Also I've been holding on to some coins for about 3 months now and it really surprised me the profits I gained. We actually have the same target price which is $500, hopefully I can reach that target to in the next few days.

I also started trading very little like you and I see altcoins trading  than forex trading. I have bought over 11 different coins and all come out successfully  except one that bluecoin that I lost. Some of the coins give me over 150% return.

Good for you and hope you hit your target too. I have been doing the same thing with a much lower capital. Also I've been holding on to some coins for about 3 months now and it really surprised me the profits I gained. We actually have the same target price which is $500, hopefully I can reach that target to in the next few days.

My profit for holding alt coins is still short of my target. Although I'm a late starter, I still giving my self another 2 months to see my actual profit. I hope I can also reached the profit as you guys have so that I would be very happy on my investment. Also I'm still optimistic because the price is going very strong and the trend is going up.

that was a good story and could Inspire for those who will start trading indeed altcoin trading was very risky because if you have wrong step instantly you will losing your money but if you able to utilize and predict the exact movement of the particular altcoins i'm pretty sure you could double your money

Ethereum was really a good investment right now. If you have hold it a little longer, you may have x10 with your investment in it. But still a good profit though, and nice to see people sharing their experience so that other like me or newbie will take the risk, jump on trading and see how it works for us. But definitely not for a poor of heart like you said. You need patience and don't be too emotional, otherwise you will not succeed in it.

one of the worst parts is if you're used to trading on stock indices. Going from 9-4 trading to 24/7 and any moment "pump and dumps" is truly both exciting and depressing  ;D
If you are stock trader then there is a set of fixed time when the markets are open and that is not the case with crypto currencies, but if you look closely some of the major moves happens at a certain time when some countries are awake and if you could figure out when the large volumes are happening then the trick here in virtual currency trading is also fun if you could split the times zones.

Not everyone can be as fortunate as you are. I experienced some defeat in trading. Some actions I took because of panic sell and panic buy so I do not think that the price will be inversely proportional. Sometimes in the world of trading an impossible thing, it could happen easily. Everything is hard to predict here.

Hi Ucy,

Thanks for your powerful inspiration. As i am new in trade,I am confused which coin i should start. Can you suggest me which coin i can trade as my first investment.

best regards,
Zrs

Suggestions might lead to your investment be wreck. Much better if you will do some self study about that since you are still on the status of being a confused meaning you don't have idea after all. Spend time to learned those things to avoid confusion.

There are coins that is preferrably fit for long term and short term. One good example for long term is our very own BTCitcoin itself. Long term holding of it can give us profits and it already proven. Now on altcoins, they are much prone to pump and dump so for now don't just invest and joined some discussion here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=224.0

On your journey, you will encountered good comments and troll so better be cautious on how will you analyzed it.
