Why would anyone spend time on setting up an exchange when there aren't even pools up. You must really want to dump your bars on stupid people FAST if that's the priority.

That's half my point. It's hard to make a pool, so solo mining is only option = only solo miners with GPU clusters will have coins. Priority - Setting up an exchange.

a couple more notes. Most people who created pools and exchanges for other alt-coins were part of the pre-mine for said coin. So they had thousands of incentivized resons for the creation of exchanges , pools ect. I don't even have 2BTB to my name .My motives are for pure love and inspiration for this Currency

even at 1000 k/h haven't found anything all day difficulty is pretty high now , but that's good because it keeps BitBar the elite currency. Easy to mine cyto currency never equates value!!!!!

This is great news for BitBar but please only set up this exchange if you or the developers know exactly what you are doing. It has to be extremely secure. You can't knock together a secure exchange in a week.

I am only saying this because if you rush out the exchange too quick and the exchange gets hacked it would be a massive disaster for BitBar's price! Please be patient and get it right, just knowing it is coming will keep people happy! Also, I know of another exchange in the works for this, so if you feel you have bitten off more than you can chew I am sure they can give it a crack (if they follow what I say).

I've read this thread twice and yet haven't seen a single piece of actual information conveyed.

I would keep it elite and exclusive.

Only deal in whole bars, no shaved bars nor shavings nor dust.

For that alone it is tempting to create an asset contract for them and issue them on the Digitalis Open Transactions server so they can be traded against any/all of the other assets that are issued there.

All assets are in integers so that way there will also be no offering fractions of anything for the whole bars, only offers of whole numbers of coins shares etc.

No percentage fees on trades, just one usage token per API call whether it is an API call to place an offer or to see an account balance or to see offers on a market or any other API call.

This bar things seems like it is made for such a server!

Of course since anyone can issue assets on the OTdemo server, anyone could also issue them there, heck several people could each issue them there, and trade them against any asset anyone chooses to issue there...

Massively more secure than a web-based system too. Exclusive for now due to only the elite have installed Open Transactions clients, but soon iPhone and Android apps for Open Transactions will be released...

I'm sorry but.. That's just a forum. I think you're better off posting here if you want a forum. I was thinking of making an exchange (an actual one), I can fund it and do the layout, but I would have no idea how to detect if someone has payed, how to let people withdraw, etc. If any experienced coder wants to make an actual exchange, tell me. I can fund it and help with the site itself most likely.

currently I have employed three different coders  to take on this task of creating the perfect exchange. Better than BTC ,Gox and all the rest. I just wanted people to see were its going to be and the over all feel of the development  of this elite  Exchange  ;D

people  bought BTB for 1 BTC four days ago and are now selling for 4-9 BTC per BTB. i warned everyone to hold there BTB tell at lest 5 btc . i hope for the future people will hold longer

on a side note i mentioned that the value 0f BTB is like we have never seen in the crypto world befor. i said when first asked . "how much could BTB be worth? " my answer with real numbers in mind short term 10-100 BTC per BTB.

This is a very conservative number. One BTB is worth at least 1000-10000 BTC, but even that's conservative in 72hrs it should hit 1,000,000 BTC per BTB

Look if we want to estimate the exchange value let's compare it against litecoin:

Litecoin:
Network Hash: 16,759,472 kH/s
Total Supply: 17,392,400 LTC
Current value: 3.14 USD/LTC

Bitbar:
Network Hash: 700,000 kH/s
Total Supply: 2,800 BTB
Theoretical value: 815 LTC/BTB.

Which seems insanely high (24BTC/BTB). And it is, it doesn't take into consideration adoption, reputation, age, etc.

So compare it to one of the lamer coins of recent times, feathercoin;

Feathercoin:
Network Hash: 1,133,753 kH/s
Total Supply: 6,505,600 FTC
Current value: 0.22018 USD/FTC

Bitbar:
Network Hash: 700,000 kH/s
Total Supply: 2,800 BTB
Theoretical value: 315.8 FTC/BTB.

Which would value bitbar at about $70 USD/BTB (0.65 BTC), which seems very low (probably due to the problems feathercoin currently has).


So there's a rough high and low point for the exchange to base the price from.

My personal feeling is that around 10 BTC/BTB is a fair price IN THE LONG TERM. Short term price, anywhere between 1.5BTC/BTB - 2.0 BTC/BTB.

Only reason i ask is because i see CNC there, and MNC seems far more stable than it so far.
Also it has been around i little longer, although i admit that is an excessively weak point :)

Mostly, it is as stable (if not more so) at the moment than half the coins on the poll.

On that note, it is probably far too early to consider BTB or YCN since they don't even have any established value yet.

Ignore the hype, an honest answer to your question is at the current difficulty of 32.44815188 (and climbing) you can expect to find a block every 2 days, 22 hours if you were to solo mine. As the current reward is 0.14 (and falling) this not really an option. You really need to join a pool to stand a chance of getting anything.


But on planet earth it's currently worth whatever someone will pay for it on bter.com which is anywhere between 0.75 --> 0.80 BTC per BTB. If we take an estimate halfway between those 2 values the block reward is currently worth about 0.1085 BTC or $11.73 USD but in a pool you'll probably have to work for quite a while to get the equivalent of a single block reward.

BTC was the same until it was adopted by people all over the world. BTB has better chances because of these forums and If you think there are no buyers you are wrong. When the people who have bought BTB at lower price will start selling them at high price more people will jump in to get a profit and eventually the price will steadily rise.

I really used to like BTB and you could have really turned it into something good. But it's an obvious pump n dump scam and it was designed that way. What were the rewards of the first blocks? What are the rewards now, .17 per block? That's ridiculous. Also, no one wants BTB because it is too damn slow. Who wants to wait over 100 hours (at current network speed) for confirmations?
