To all parents and soon to be parents out there,

Plan for your children or future children by saving Bitcoin for them. Buying them bit by bit would be a great investment for the future of your kids. I am saying that you must have a new wallet for your kids so that when they come at the right age, you can give them that wallet and imagine how bright their future will be. You can hold bitcoin for their education, life plans, or whatever you think of.

I believe that if you start storing bitcoin for them now, a bright future is ahead of them  ;)

It looks like a good idea. And it's not neccessary to buy big amount of bitcoins. Even 1 bitcoin may be enough if bitcoin price continue to rise in long term. When your children turns 18, you will give bitcoins to your children. He/she may use it to pay for studies, rent a flat. Maybe after 18 years it will be possible to buy flat with these saved bitcoins, who knows.
But you will have to find save place to keep your bitcoins for such long period and not loose your wallet information.

Already been doing that, I plan to leave a lot for my kids anyways since there is little that I want more in my life now. It's just work and make sure they have something to continue on with and build value from. There's no point in leaving them next to nothing, especially not in today's world.

I don't know how much they'll have for the future, but I'll try my hardest to make sure they have a decent amount to live with.

A safety deposit box is probably a good idea for this. You risk losing it in your house from a fire or robbery unless you have a good fireproof safe, even then you should make sure the paraphrase is properly stored/labeled so it isn't mistaken as something that isn't of value.

This is a good idea back in the day my father told me that parents used to buy gold for their kids and then save it, it was like a tradition, but this tradition has gotten forgotten but I think this is going to make a come back with bitcoin.

that's what i am exactly doing. This is one of the best ways for guarantee their future.my investment is not only at bitcoin but also at altcoins which have big potential for the future. I also trade for increase the amount of bitcoin which i want to give my child. This is better than open a bank account and deposit a little bit every month. The profit of cryptocurrencies will be much better.

This is a cool thing and idea to start for your child or children.
All we need is assurance for this, like having gold, because of fluctuation, I am bit scared of putting all my money or saving for bitcoin because we do not know if in time come bitcoin will still increasing this kind of high, like for so many years,we do not know what will happen in next 5 years.

Because I am good in short term investment, I am pro-bitcoin for investment.

I have already started also saving at least 1 BTC in one wallet just for future uses. Though 1btc is not yet reach, but I regularly added funds here to accumulate  whenever I have an extra btc. We did not know what might be the future but for bitcoin, all are very optimistic.

It is always a good idea for parents to invest wisely for the bright future of your kid,but you must have a diligent study about the future before investing your hard earned money,you must have a good entry point and if you are able to do that then it is a worthy investment as you could double or triple your investment in a short period of time.

Good point. If you truly love the kids, diversify their assets. Bitcoin is the bees knees, but it's one asset in a basket of many. Along with btc, make sure to save them plenty of Fiat, and some stock, possibly gold. This way, you can spread the risk of an uncertain future across multiple asset classes, making sure your value actually makes it into your kids pockets ;)

You also can't go wrong with land. It's not like they are making any more of it ;)

I know there are a ton of people here that Bitcoin is going to go on a moon shoot one day, but I'm not one of those people so I would simply advise against doing something like this. I would simply invest in a index fund through one of those low cost companies such as Vanguard which has a proven track record of increasing at about a rate of 7 percent per year, that should be good enough to grow your a bright future for your child. As it does kinda make me scared to think of Parents taking thousands of dollars, putting it into Bitcoin, then losing a ton of it cause it just goes down 99 percent the next day.

I'm not going to say the index funds I put above are without risk, as they do have risk, though the risk is much lower then putting savings for your child into a currency which is disgustingly volatile right now.

If you are serious about saving money for your kids' education or future needs, putting that money in bitcoin is an extremely irresponsible decision. You are far better off putting it into index funds and mutual funds, assuming it will be there for 10+ years. The risk vs reward over 10+ years for those funds is extremely favorable and for bitcoin it absolutely is not. This isn't really a debatable topic either - investing in any asset that is less than 10 years old, for a duration of 10+ years, is going to be riskier than investing in something that has had consistent behavior for over 100 years.

I happen to believe that bitcoin has a bright future but anybody who feels confident enough in that to put their children's savings into it is being foolish. Bitcoin investments should be made using money that you can afford to lose.

I agree with saving Bitcoin for the future of your children but i disagree if you will buy Bitcoin even if its bit by bit because you need to think also of the worst case scenario. What if Bitcoin suddenly destroyed?. So if i were you if you want to save Bitcoin for your future children then i suggest don't buy Bitcoin instead join signature campaign and bounties and save those Bitcoin you get from joining signature or bounties for the future. That way if in the future if Bitcoin will be destroyed you will only wasted your time but not your money.

Its not necessary for me to open a wallet for my children because what im doing now is for the sake of them. its enough to have one wallet and continue saving btc. investing is risky so i wont put their savings in btc id rather put it in mutual fund or open a bank account for them to secure their financial needs in the future.

if only I had enough btc. Couldnt even get enough for myself.  ;D ;D

This is actually a great idea, better than all those child future insurance plans, this one would actually be the best for the kids if we could accumulate even a couple of bitcoin for them when they're ready to use.
Will definitely keep this in mind now.

I've done something like what you say. Currently I've saved some bitcoins and also do protection against the account. I save it online web. I was worried for fear that the website became a scam. But I believe it is impossible, this is a valuable savings for my family in the future. Raising the bitcoin price can certainly make a fantastic bitcoin price in the future. My family can live happily from what I am doing right now.

Bitcoin can help but by no means it should not be the main source for us to give our children a bright future. We need to work are ass off and being paid so provide good future for you and your loved ones. Stable job or own business + bitcoin erning = good life / bright future. But giving your wallet on your children, I don't like the idea. Maybe its better if you get a educational plans for your children.

I would much rather provide for their future by using my hoard to pay for their further education and to provide them with the tools to be a success. A lot of my friends has given their children money to start their future and they bought cars and expensive notebooks and stuff like that, which in my opinion was a stupid move.

Start a small Bitcoin business or pay for their education and they can build their own future. Easy money, goes quickly.

I kind of dilemma, I think it is better to save fiat for them because we really don't know what could happened with bitcoin for a long term, it maybe can be expensive but it also got chances that it will be no value, so I still will collect bit by bit for my children but when I see the situation is not right I will convert it to fiat, it is safer for my children future

We don't know if its safer to save FIAT, we have seen the Lehman brothers bank failure and also the Cyprus and Greece failure where in Greece you could only withdraw 60 Euro per day and not more because of the crisis. I think it is better to save bitcoin for the future without forgetting to put aside very little fiat cash every now and then. If this is done from now for 18 years I am sure the children who will have such parents will be some very happy persons in their future and will have a good start to their independent life.

Bitcoin moves so fast and unpredictably. In years the price may have gone a lot higher than the price today but it may also have gone a lot lower than how much bitcoin is when I invested.
I still prefer saving in fiat.

That's a good advice to the entire parenting community as well the one who's gonna be parents in a short or long. Believe in bitcoin and make your children be good in technology as well make a good profiting through it, which one cannot get anywhere else.

It would be really good thing for all those bitvoiners for the future of Thier children , because when the children are the small in age then at that time we don't need much about to worry for them but after the 18+ year age they need much money for the daily needs and for Thier education .
So if we have already saved in the Bitcoin then surely they will have the diamond in the form of the Bitcoin .
Well here I am saving for myself , and after the marriage I will start my Bitcoin in seprate wallet for them , so that not much force and tension came at my mind .

Now see I would do that, but I just don't think that Bitcoin will still be around in 50 or so years. Also, I am the one earning the Bitcoin, so why shouldn't I keep the money? I am quite young at the moment also, so I don't really think about these kinds of things. Maybe when the time comes, I will leave some of my Bitcoin for my children.

Great idea and I think many of us will already be doing this.  I have been doing this for a while and have gone one step further and setup a multisig wallet via Copay with the wife so It can't be touched unless we both sign off on it.

Good idea but I think in my opinion no one can say what will happen  in the future,if you have enough bitcoin to save for future of your children.I think withdraw it and put it to the bank,because if you put in the bank they sure they get the money in the future.

This sounds like those commercials selling insurance and investment policies, but I like the idea. It's something that I had long been thinking about. Accordingly I made three wallets and I spilt what ever I earn to my personal spending, my wife and kids and my parents. So in near future if it grows and it surely will grow, I am sure we all can enjoy life and be sure that we made the right decision. I am sure everyone will implement this idea as it's safe, and if you do implement make sure the people for whom you do are aware of it.

Even though im still young at age of 17 im now preparing for my future family,saving as much money as i can without affecting my own financial issue at this stage.

We have a close age and i agree with you, even we are still young and under 40 years old we can still have a lot of chance and time to make sure that our future will be bright so we don't have to worry when we get to that point. I'm also starting to secure my future for saving money and also putting them in bitcoin as my main saving account because i don't like the banks because of its low interest rate.

I prefer fivty-fivty in this case if we discuss about the understanding of doubling it in the gambling and trading business, but it's not a good thing to teach to small children. The right understanding for them is to understand the basic bitcoin first and start teaching some game faucet. If we talk about price fluctuations then that is a risk to our own business and not to be taught to them.

A small sum of each Bitcoin, Ethereum and maybe one of the POS coins would be a very nice gift. It should not be a lot of coins or they won't appreciate the value of it. Something that can get them started but small enough it will not spoil them.

P.S. teach them to spell carefully also

I also plan to postpone bitcoins for the future. Maybe in order to secure a carefree old age, and maybe for my future children. The time will come and I will decide what to do with these coins

There's nothing permanent in this world! Maybe now bitcoin is one of the famous coins and can convert into cash but then I have my doubts about sharing it to my children. When it comes to bitcoin I have no interest to teach my children about it. I am already enough to be part of knowing bitcoin. I always admire bitcoin because it is so useful in our everyday life and it is great. Maybe I already prepared it for the coming future of my children. Im thinking about saving it to bank and still waiting for the bright future of my children.

The best furture to give any child or children even the unborn ones is just financial security with that, the future is already secure and if bitcoin can provide that, without being miser with the truth, its the best way to go. However, I would advise not to go totally into bitcoin rather spread it across other financial assets especially fixed assets that are sure to generate Return on Investment in addition to some money in bitcoin in other to be on a safer side.

Who knows how many times before I saw the same thread, saving bitcoins for the future when most of us here expect price to go to the moon is always good idea, I think it`s not matter is it for yourself, kids, or house, boat, pension. But tell me do kids deserve to have nice present life, or they need to have just bright future? Financial security is always good, but that is not everything in life.

I also think so, storing bitcoin for your young ones could be better than purchasing Insurance policy for them. However bitcoin may also experience huge dump in future because bitcoin price is quite volatile and nobody can predict the future. So don't save all you have in bitcoin  ;)

Yes, storing bitcoin is a good idea, but no one can predict what will happen to him in a few years. Therefore, it is better to have alternative investments.

I personally wouldn't let the future of my child be dependant on Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency, it's too volatile to be used as a safe store of value IMO.
Perhaps buying them Bitcoin in addition to some other means of saving would be better.

It is a very good idea. Storing bitcoin now, is like storing digital gold for the future. Nevertheless, one shouldn't bank only on that to prepare a bright future for the kids. It is best you have physical lifetime investments so you can have more than enough to give your children the best in life. Moreover, bitcoin is highly volatile and we don't even know what bitcoin will be like in the future.

In my opinion Bitcoin price will always grow in the long-term. So why not buy some coins now at $2400 and use them in 15 years when the price is going to be at least $20000?

That's a great idea though i don't have plan to start a family right now im gonna finish my study first get a job and BITCOINS more bitcoins. but i will save my bitcoins in the future for educational purposes of my child/ren or maybe use bitcoin to build a house but im sure it is not big but bitcoin can help me to my financial problems so i will save it.

I can't believe how many people think this is a great idea. This is a horrible idea. Any financial advisor or anybody with any education about finance will tell you the same. Do not invest money that you cannot afford to lose in something so risky. This idea is so insane and I'm astonished by how many people think it's good. I find it depressing actually. Like I said in a post earlier, just invest in mutual funds or index funds, or better get, talk to a financial advisor! Let them invest it for you! If you think saving for your child's education by buying Bitcoin is a good idea, you should not be making your own investment decisions. Let a professional do that. Seriously.

It is really a good idea, sometime i think about it, but now i really appreciate to you, because you are already starting saving for your kids. I also have one kid and now i have a plan save 1 or 2 bitcoins for him, and definitely after 10 years ago, bitcoin is too expensive and unique and also have big digit amounts. In my view, Bitcoin is best future plan about children.

You will be better with signature campaign coins and saving them, becauee at worst you can lose only time, not money. But time is money and when bitcoin gets destroyed, it will be less moeny wasted than you would from buying at these high prices.

yes bitcoin will always be a good investment for all of us , it will be a long term investment that would last for a years to come. people invested on bitcoin because they believe that bitcoin will increase its value more than its value now, i believe that too. i will save some too in order for me to have an investment i will not spend it until it will be the right time for me.

Saving Bitcoins for future especialy at current price seams like a good plan to ensure children's future but there is a catch. Bitcoin is highly volatile and you can't be sure what the future price will be so your savings might end with much lower value than you expect.
You know how they say, it's better to teach them how to catch the fish than just give them to eat it. This sounds like a good receipe for the kids too.

its always a good thing if we are concern with our children and what we can do is saving some part of our bitcoin to their future and i think in future, it will help our children if somehow they have a money problem so with our bitcoin, they can solve their problem and beside that, they can used our bitcoin for continue to lived.

My children started with their own Bitcoin ventures early on in this experiment and they ran with this. The one started with faucets and built up

some Satoshi's to trade with. As an incentive I promised to double their income from my own stash {with limits} for every Satoshi they earned

online... I did this to boost their start, and it worked. They built up a generous amount of coins on their own.  ;D

Of course, bitcoin has a bright future for us and also for our children. If we save bitcoin for only our children and when they will grew up than sell it then i believe bitcoin will be give us a big amount and we will be used it in our children necessaries. I am also sure if we tell our children about bitcoin, they must feel excitement for saving it.

You can really make your children a bright future if you will buy a lot of bitcoins now and hold them for a lot of years and check it again and sell it for profits and start investing in real life so you can secure your money and also have a good future for your whole family.

You have your point too.Bitcoin is ideal for the preparation of a bright future for our children.Maybe when my daughter grows up and able to manipulate already in the internet,i will also teach her on gaining bitcoin so that at an early age she will be able to make money of her own and save it for her future needs.In this way,bitcoin has ensured already not just the future of my daughter but also my family's future.

For all the post that I have seen so far this is the one post that I truly think the real thing to do, yes all of you are thinking about the bright future of your love ones kids and maybe grand parents if you still have but is it necessarily to make another wallet to make a better future for them I think one is enough and I think that what we are trying to do right now is for the benefit of all we love, and it is not necessary great to even split our bitcoins if the price is still increasing.

Yes, I am already into plans of having bitcoins as my retirement account and saving it for my grand children like that. But, recent speculations are making me to have second thoughts about my plans as in next 5 to 10 years itself bitcoin might have value more than millions. In that case I do not need to wait till my retirements to enjoy my bitcoins and if I save some portions of my bitcoins for my child and grand-child then definitely that would make them multimillionaires for sure.

I have an alternative for that how about you save your Bitcoins for yourself in order to profit from it more. The profit you will be earning with Bitcoin can be use to create your own Business, because if you think about it your kids will be needing that money 10-20 years from now which we really don't know if Bitcoin will still grow or if Bitcoin will even exist in their generation. So its better to invest now rather than invest it for your kids.

It is nice to read that some parents out here are doing the idea proposed on the OP. Though not a new idea but an eye opener for some parents that haven't thought about it yet. It is always nice to prepare for the future and the future of our kids but caution must be always be observed. We cannot guarantee anything because many things may come out of hand.

those people who have good knowledge about bitcoin then must be planning for bitcoin to get help from it after they retired from their day job. i  am sure that bitcoin will also be so much helpful in in long run and wll give good support to those people who are using bitcoin and specially have invested money in bitcoin for long term.

I placed $3500 in his 529 fund in 2008 and now it is only closed to $4500.  I should have bought bitcoin instead. 

I like this idea, saving bitcoin for my child is a good thing to do. Because I beleive bitcoin price will continuously increasing. Though we cannot predict the price movement in the long run. Still If I buy little by little of amount of btc and I will hold it, for sure in the long term it is profitable.

Good idea. Worth to try. But not with great investment, most probably would buy coin,two,three and that`s it. When we are talking about children I like to to be secure and always trying to do the best for them. Bitcoin price can go sky high but can also drop down, it`s not stable. so I would decide for some other saving for kids.

indeed probably in the future the price of bitcoin will be worth more than $100k or more and also we will see plenty schools or college accept bitcoin however this is actually good idea because the benefit from holding bitcoin for long term bitcoin is pretty much especially for the price it self and maybe bitcoin able to use to finance the education of our childrens

Just today me and my friends are talking about crypto investments. One of us shared that his office job salary atm is with his wife. Poloniex trading which his wife knows he always shared when there's good gain. Bittrex trading for other girls. LMAO!

I think buying a hardware wallet and saving it in will be a good idea. i'll buy one and save few coins in it and when my kid is 18 years old he/she will get that hardware wallet.

That was really true but we know that your children dont really have enough knowledge about bitcoin and they probably dont know what is your bitcoin wallet password so they cant really access it in the future and also if you just die quickly and cant explain it in your children they will not get your money .

It's good someone to make dreams but it's not sure that will be reality. Especially when we know the volatility of bitcoin. Moreover after a decade and more who really can predict the future of cryptocurrencies? That is why I do not fully share the optimism of the OP. If he has enough money maybe he should look at some other investment proposals such as the purchase of land, insurance contract etc.

Pretty good idea. Tho you don't need to save too much, 1 bitcoin is already good. Just put it on a wallet, make it grow, I mean when the time pass by, your bitcoin grows, so when the time that your kids grow, they have money for their life.

What happens if bitcoin breaks down? We do not have any evidence to confirm its existence in the future. Although bitcoin is growing vigorously, the future is unpredictable. Our children will use a different currency smarter.

This can be a good idea worth exploring. I am sure that some parents may like the idea of putting aside a small Bitcoin now and then just leave it somewhere and letting it grow for years before gifting it to the child at a certain age. Like what can be the value of even just one Bitcoin 15 or 20 years from now?

The only fear we have is what if after 15 years a new cryptocurrency is taking over Bitcoin and it is left behind like an old man with no more worth. So maybe the solution is just set aside an account and though you won't touch it for anything you should also be watching the crypto-market from time to time.

It's really good idea even I am doin that I got 4 month baby even I am thinking that am not only collecting bitcoin from all the possible ways. Even I started to collect some good altcoins like ether and lite pin funny thing is that I am collecting dogecoin more it is the only crypto having in the for of full coin

Just be a risk taker and collect the coins that you think that has a lot of potential in the future. Dogecoin is one of the coin that has a potential if the devs will make a good project or movement for their cryptocurrency because you can see that the price of doge is already pumped from the low price that is around 30 sats so i think there is a lot of things that can happen in dogecoin.

A lot of coins would have a lot of potential just like bitcoin with just the right timing it can surely increase, and I have seen that a lot of those coins when bitcoin rise it's value many Alts have increase in value too, and because of Alts we will have many options with trading that is why I think it is necessarily to support some Alts that you like that is sure to obtain the same stature as bitcoin does.

I think two bitcoins per child should be enough for them who are going to be a parent in this year. One bitcoin would help them to complete their studies and other living necessities and another one would help them to buy a house and vehicles. I am considering the picture of 15+ years when they will be mature enough and bitcoin would have the 100X price.

People often look at the development of bitcoin and ignore the altcoin, but in fact, the altcoin grows very quickly, especially the altcoin grows on a bitcoin basis, its value soaring to horribly instantaneous levels. Even when bitcoin is fast double value. That is a wonderful thing.

Not a bad suggestion either but will you prefer your kids work for their own money or you want to fend for them after you're old. I think the best is to cater for their education and let them continue the rest so for me 1 BTC per child is okay.

Absolutely agree. I am a strong believer of the fact that empty pockets teach many valuable lessons than the filled one. I am also considering the unexpected price falls and to make the holdings secure, I am going with 2 bitcoins. We can not predict the accurate price of the bitcoin but we can always accumulate enough for the future.

i am agree with you, we can start from now on to save some coins that we think its really give us some profit in future. i think its not wrong if we are saving from now and we can give the coins if our children is grow up. i am doing this for now because i want to prepare my children for their future so they don't have to worried if somehow they have a money problem in their life and they can use the coins to sell it to cover the problems. its our duty to prepare our children life and we can start from now before its too late and we don't have anything to help our children.

Well yeah the investment could easily be doubled with the ICO’s projects in a short time as compare to the investment of the bitcoin which at the same time is huge and its growth in short term is slow ad compare to the Alts.

By the growth I mean the growth in the price of the bitcoin. I am not saying to spare the Bitcoin and follow the Alts but if you have a better chance in either of them just go for it. For the parents Alts is the best I guess while for the others the Bitcoin is good.

I don't expect myself to be a parent any time soon but I agree that we should save up bitcoin for our children. I believe it possibly can be the best investment of the century.

I'm wondering keeping bitcoin in wallet will be safe. Because no one can predict the fluctuation of bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin prices may increase but also able to return as it did in the past with extremely low prices. However, that is what no one expected,

Definitely great Idea but I am curious if my child/ren could even use it,
I mean I am only 21 years old and I don't have a child or even a girl right now so if I ever have one it would really take a lot of years,

I'm not married yet so i never think of that but i will leave some inheritance for them either it's still in btc or i change it first to like house or gold, things that have more stable value so that my child future is guaranted. Bitcoin is volatile that we don't know what might happen in the future, so leaving another things is better in my opinion.

I am not fine with the idea of giving my BTC to my children just like that. They need to learn how to work/think/invest on their own.

I will do that anytime if i have a lot bitcoins on my wallet, but for now im realy focusing on getting a real high paying job to sustain my family. Also hitting good campaigns and bounties in the forum that will make wallet happy.

This seems quite a lovely idea, as most of the parents and soon to be parents plan most of the time for the bright future of their off springs. This is good to have a new wallet for the kids and I will suggest that the wallet should be the hard one. Purchasing a hard wallet is much better because it is safer than the others. Also it has no chance to lost keys and related stuff, nor can someone hack it so it is much better.

To be honest, it actually doesn't matter much if they want to learn it or not because this is something that would be very much common after 15 to 20 years and they will have to deal with it. Just like the internet, the people who refused to adopt this innovation are struggling to survive these days. OP, you said it as if the price of Bitcoin will forever continue on the up trend. Investing in Bitcoin is like investing in any other business. Businesses do have their downtrend from time to time. If in doubt, you may want to find out from Mark Zukerberg or Bill Gates. I am one of the VERY few who believes that Bitcoin will not forever trend upwards in price. In fact, a time will come when other coins will go top it.

I respect everyone's opinion here but at the same time I think, giving money isn't about transferring the bitcoin in their wallet. It's about spending for their quality education and maintaing the good living conditions which will help them to grow as a healthy, educated & self sutainable human being. Going to play the contrarian opinion here.  What if your kids end up to be miserable sons of bitches that are unworthy of an inheritance?  Don't you think you should see what the tree has produced before thinking about leaving them anything?  Don't you think your kids ought to earn their own money?  Don't you think leaving your bitcoin hoard to a worthwhile charity might be the better option?  I'm not a big fan of kids--especially your kids--and I'm even less of a fan of inheritances.

This is a good idea but still needs to be think twice since bitcoins is still not that stable compared to those educational and life plans. Been saving bitcoin for my family but i also secure by saving also in banks. We don't really know what will happen to bitcoin much better if we diversify into bitcoin and to traditional business. That i think would secure our childs future.

When my first daughter was born in the end of 2015, I did exactly that. Any money we got from relatives or friends to buy something for her went directly into bitcoin. It was a total of some 600€ and meanwhile, it's a few thousand. 1.6 BTC - I think she'll be happy once she's an adult :)

there is again my old concept comes. that we are now earning the active earning which depends on exactly how much we have worked or how much we can do  it more, but to save and be rich we have to use the passive earning techniques. like is too short and only hard work is not enough to be rich you have to take some smart decessions to be able to earn some larger bucks in short amount of time as possible.

Bad idea. I would've save these money in safe gold assets than dangerous bitcoin ones. Maybe I would risk 2% of savings in Bitcoin, but no more because Bitcoin is a high-risk asset. Im still young and I think I'm fine with how I am right now. Saving money and at the same time doing charity works and helping my family. The topic was active last June 30, 2017, and Bitcoin has a tremendous and spectacular bull run during last quarter of that year. I wonder what happened to those who really take this topic seriously. I bet they had millions profit at that point if they hodl and buy Bitcoins.
