Title: Why does core keep giving me a used address when i ask for a new ? Post by: calkob on May 31, 2017, 11:54:10 PM Ok so i am going into file/receiving address/New. every time it gives me a used address, i want brand new addresses, how to i get these ?

If you have requested more addresses than there are in the keypool since you last unlocked the wallet, it will not be able to refill the keypool with new addresses. By default the keypool contains 100 addresses.

By default, 100. You can change it by putting keypool=<Number of address>. so is it another 100 now ? Yes. Bitcoin Core tries to maintain 100 addresses all the time and it will do so whenever you do anything with the wallet provided that it is unlocked. |
