Title: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: OgNasty on June 01, 2017, 06:48:20 PM This account just posted a scam accusation against me and then it was removed. I responded to it, and would like to get to the bottom of this, so here it was.
So i asked OgNasty to escrow a deal form me with 64dimensions His reply before i deposited 1 ETH: 1 ether sounds good. Setup the escrow with og, i'll make the payment today. ----------- Let me know the ETH address the funds will be released to. Send 1.1 ETH to 0x7b59b37958d2eb1303552fef444b4ed6728561f6 and I'll confirm. Thanks. And when i sent him my refund address, he is NOW refusing to refund my 1 ETH after i canceled my DEAL with 64dimensions PLEASE HELP URGENT. I dont control any private key , 1 eth was sent from an unrefunable exchange address. Thank you. Clearly the same scam/extortion attempt as earlier this week only using a different coin. I've offered to refund the sending address. I've offered to refund any address with a signed message from the sending address. This happens from time to time and services are typically willing to work with users to recover refunds. This user won't even attempt to make contact. Pretty clear what is happening here. I don't think anyone believes I'm out here destroying my rep for 1 ETH. 64dimensions, Would you care to chime in here with your thoughts on your interactions with this user? https://etherscan.io/tx/0x1a52af1884b171d7d077c909daac24c4c305f7e8305d6840f84808737af78cab Refunded to sending address: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x000346fc27481169ccc1f40d89bfdda58748871dfc8a031da2a3b30cb27a4d27 Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: ibminer on June 01, 2017, 06:57:11 PM I'm sure it was moved and modified because it was obvious nobody was going to buy the claims. For reference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1944626 I quoted his OP before the deletion. It certainly would be interesting to hear what 64Dimensions has to say! Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: OgNasty on June 01, 2017, 06:59:55 PM OG, This is a very dangerous link at the bottom of one their emails. He has just texted me that his bitcointalk account is unrecoverable. I don't typically post PMs, but I don't want to spend all day on this and this one seems to be innocent enough. I've asked 64dimensions to respond here and clarify. Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: varakunai on June 01, 2017, 07:01:28 PM OgNasty sent me a pm saying that He will refund the sending address thats why ive deleted my thread .
Now you have Two option Sir Refund to the first Eth address that ive provided you when u asked me . Refund to the sending address and Fuck me cause i will lose my money and you will be responsable , cause u shouldnt ask me for a refund address if you are going to refund to the original sending address ... What a scammer >:( Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: varakunairedo on June 01, 2017, 07:05:39 PM Varakunai account (which is mine) has been hacked, do not refund any of the ether back. I am the only one who can prove i send the eth, and i have been in contact with 64 by phone. I have reported to the mods the situation, and am hoping for a quick resolution.
I wish to continue the purchase, so please don't refund! Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? I wish to continue the purchase, so please don't refund! Unless you can regain control of your account, I literally have no other option but to refund the sending address. I will consider what rules I can put in place to discourage these hacking attempts in the future, as they are certain to continue. Honestly though, if I refunded the ETH address that was given to me, it would have been your fault for losing control of your account. End users need to be aware that the "I was hacked" excuse means literally nothing more than that you were at fault. I deal with accounts and can't verify the people behind those accounts. If you lose your account, I try to put rules in place to protect you, but ultimately it is your fault. Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: varakunaiusa on June 01, 2017, 07:14:15 PM Hello my account got hacked i am Varakunai , Dont refund to both addresses i can prove that own the address.

Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: varakunairedo on June 01, 2017, 07:19:01 PM What a shit show. Not quite sure how i lost my account, but it seems to be causing all sorts of trouble. It's my fault for not securing it better. Returning the ether to where it was sent from puts it in the coinbase hot wallet. Sending it to any address provided here could be the wrong one and i lose my money. 64 and Og both of you have my contact info. Just pay it to 64 and be done with it. He was obviously the one who the money was meant for in the first place, and after speaking with him i trust him to send the goods.

What a scam Says the scammer who just wasted his entire evening to earn himself $0 and now realizes his scam attempts won't work against me. :P What a shit show. Not a good sign. I have to consider the possibility that 64dimensions could have been the same person who took over your stolen account, therefore, I cannot just send him the funds. As I stated previously, I literally have 1 option and that is to refund the sending address. Coinbase will help you recover it. You should send them a message now letting them know that 1 ETH will be sent to 0xA769036F12b7b15CDBdAcBEa941c2aFD670bd893 and that it is your ETH. When they confirm they will keep an eye out for it and credit it to your account, let me know and I'll send the refund. Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? When people complain about escrow fees being high, remember it is having to deal with such fine specimens of the human race like this that is to blame. Title: Re: Possible Scammer varakunai ?? Post by: varakunairedo on June 01, 2017, 07:37:12 PM Well, at least i only lost .1 ether. Although i'll have to deal with coinbase support for a week to get the 1 eth back. OgNasty, send it to the address you received it from, i've already opened a ticket with coinbase. As always, you do a great job, thanks.
3rd time i've been burned here, guess i should have learned my lesson early. 64, it was a pleasure speaking with you, contact me by phone and we can work out the cards directly. Some tips to help you with future trades. You made a lot of mistakes. 1) Don't send funds before the seller has provided a release address. 2) Don't click links sent to you from another user unless they light up green when you hover your mouse over them. 3) If you do click a link and it asks you for your username/password, for the love of god don't enter it. You're obviously already logged in! 4) Deal with reputable users through this forum. You keep asking to talk on the phone and via email... That's the best way to get scammed. 5) Don't send funds to users directly. If you make a deal with 64 now and don't use escrow after he wouldn't come here to give his side of the story of your hack, wouldn't provide a release address after several requests, and has been fairly unresponsive throughout this entire process, you are asking for more heartache. Good luck! Glad I was able to go above and beyond to keep your ~$200 safe. |
